If it's the one sorta near Flamingo, I've stayed there before and that's a pretty good price. They are usually closer to $100 a night. IIRC they have free internet and a free shuttle to the strip, and I think the airport too.

A couple weeks ago I booked a stay at Mandalay Bay for June 19th-21st.

I'm a peon gambling weenie and grabbed the internet rate of $140/night. A week later, I check and see the room is now $110/night. I cancel the res and rebook it at $110. A few days later I check and it's at $130/night. I laugh and high-five myself.

Well, today I check the prices and it's at $80/night. Argh. I called room res this time and they changed my reservation to the new rate.

What a bouncing yoyo... That's borderline crazy.

Question - I'm going to be in Vegas starting in June with a car but I'll be parking OUTSIDE on the STREETs... Any tips? Am I going to burn? Is my car going to die from the heat? Is a windshield shade enough? Is there anything else I can do?

weather has been unseasonably beautiful so far... but the blow dryer is coming eventually. who knows when it will hit, but if you have good AC, you'll probably be okay. but if the weather gets up to 100+, your car will be about 150+ on the inside... at least.

Open the windows a little? If you have a tilting sunroof, tilt it up a little. They have these oven mitt things you can put on the steering wheel but you may not want to buy something like that when you will probably end up tossing it when you leave.

There are also solar-powered fans you can stick in the window openings.

He meant 150 degree with the windows AND the sun roof open. I'm in Tucson, AZ with about the same weather. Steering wheel covers & cloth seats help a lot. If you have leather / vinyl seats I'd recommend putting a towel on the seat when you leave or it will be hot and if you ever even try to sit on the seat in shorts, well.... let's just say I hope you have your sunroof open.

When you don't need it you could park in various casino parking garages and keep it out of the sun.

Thanks. I did wind up booking here, but by the time I booked it was $79. Something seems to be definitely going on that weekend. Now all I have to do is bink my tournament!

So it's technically physically okay for my car to be outside in the sun in Las Vegas, right? For the engine, etc.

(well of course it must be to some extent, but I don't need some different engine coolant or anything, do I?)

It should be perfectly alright. I live in the Middle East, and it gets much, much hotter here (hottest I've ever experienced was over 130 degrees in the shade).

One word of advice though - don't leave a cigarette lighter on the dashboard. When you come back to your car, you'll probably find that it's exploded and you'll have little pieces of plastic embedded in the seats and roof.

Is there a website that shows a comparison of the blackjack rules at the different vegas casinos?

Do all Vegas casinos offer free parking? If not how much does it usually run?

Thanks.

Brilliant. Thank you.

Parking is always free. It's customary to tip if you use the valet service.

Most of the casinos downtown charge for parking in their garage but just take the ticket you get when you enter to the casino cage and they will validate it for you.

Thank you both. What is customary, tip before, after, or both for valet?

Just use common sense. If it's a 100+ day and you're stuck on the strip for half an hour, keep an eye on the temp.

Close to booking a hotel for the 3rd-10th of july. We cant decide which room to chose out of these 3 "Bella Suite-2 Queen Beds"($1393) at venetian "Rialto View Suite-2 Queen Beds"($2093) at venetian or "Augustus Tower Deluxe Room" at caesars($2174). Do you think its worth the extra money to go for the better rooms? Its just the two of us now so not sure what we will do about going to the clubs because buying a bottle/table for 2 people is going to be out of our budget. Any ideas? Thanks
