i've never been to fuddruckers, but that's not because i'm above it or anything. been to plenty of fridays and the like. there just aren't any where i used to live or close to where i hang now.

all of these high-end strip burger places, they just aren't that great. half of the time the fries come out luke warm (indicating they are not cooked to order) and the burgers are often overcooked. they are just not worth the money. these places are meant to take advantage of the unsuspecting tourists who walk by hungry.

the chefs at burger bar et al are putting in about as much effort (or maybe less) than the people cooking up burgers at in-and-out.

KGB burger (simon's place) sucks horribly and is near the bottom of the totem pole. they have captain crunch milkshakes, though
I know what you mean about Strp tax. I'm here at the Rio and even though it's off-strip, a burger at the All-American Grill (a vile place btw) is $10.95.

I've never actually been to Fuddruckers either, but I know there's one at the Orleans. I've been told more than once that elk meat is the best there is, so I want to try it soon.

BTW, the Walmart on Eastern is awesome. It's a mega and has a gigantic food section.

Fuddruckers disappointed me IMO, not much better than InandOut, Sonic etc. I distinguish between grade B burgers which everyone tries to make the same vs grade A craft-burgers where the bar has his own way of doing things.

I have had BLT, Stripburger, and the one at the MBay, they were all nice B+ burgers.

Going to Vegas for the wsop, but my non-poker playing friend is coming for a week as well. Are there any places to go play cheap pit games where the main object is mostly to get drunk? Like <$5 minimums?

you're going to need to go west on Flamingo Blvd to find anything(laundry mat or Grocery) that suits your needs. East will take you back to the strip and directly north and south are pretty much industrial park buildings. I am heading over right this minute to take a look at the 25k tourni, I will have a short drive around and see if I can find anything for you that is within walking distance.

I'm pretty certain there were details earlier in this thread (or maybe it was a specific one on laundry) for very reasonably priced laundry pick-up services.

What type of tip would someone leave a 24hr Bulter if they stay in a suite that has a Bulter? What do you tip per day, if you use his/her services? If you don't?

What would a big gambler ($100K - $500K player) tip a casino host (if at all)?

i would give the butler $100 but hand it to him so that the maids don't take it by mistake!

you should not tip your casino host, you should use and abuse him

Smiths market is about .8 of a mile west on Flamingo towards decatur st and there is a do it yourself laundromat another .25-.5 of a mile past that on linden ave behind terribles.

Both easily walking distance if the weather is not to hot.

-------------------------------------------------------

great day to go look at the head up tourni, not a lot of people there watching unless you count all the top pros walking around. I saw a lot of faces we'd all recognize.

From Rio/Gold Coast, go West on Flamingo (Palms will be on your left.) At the corner of Arville and Flamingo make a left on Arville (Pole Position go kart racing will be on the right hand side). Just past that building there is a 24 hour laundromat/convenience store on the right.

It's called Wizard of Suds. It's not in the best neighborhood or the newest facility but me and my friend did our laundry there a few years ago when our machine busted and it was fine.
It's at most a 10 minute walk from RIO/GC and about a 2 minute drive. Here's a link:

There is a Food 4 Less on the corner of Flamingo and Decatur. Go west on Flamingo, pass through the intersection at Decatur and it is immidiately on the right.

Would you guys prefer PH over PH Westgate for 5 days? The difference in monies are miniscule, but I've read on here that Westgate is a bit of a walk in terms of getting to the strip and getting to the poker room at the casino?

I assume you want something walkable, which is pretty much nothing with a basket of laundry in this heat, so I don't have any suggestions there.

But if you drive, there's a place called Magic Wash at the SW corner of Charleston and Decatur, and there's a Super Walmart and a Lowes right across Decatur, a CVS right across Charleston, and a bunch of restaurants and/or cafes (maybe like a Jamba Juice or something) in the Walmart/Lowes shopping center.

The laundromat is also pretty good. It has tons of machines, a bunch of TVs, and maybe an arcade game or something. I don't exactly remember.
