Did they show and then say chckdown or checkdown ok then show? I'm saying people checkdown an allin player all the time.

Spoonfox found the useful terms and conditions. It is definitely against Harrah's rules to let someone use your card. But you likely won't be caught unless you get lucky; people often play two machines at once and have their cards in both, so that alone is unlikely to ring any alarm bells.

But if your friend hits a jackpot that requires they come ID him and manually pay him, you may have trouble. When they compare his ID with the name on the Total Rewards card he was playing, you may find 'em cutting up your Total Rewards card in front of you and zeroing your balance.

Pretty much what I figured to be honest, if that is the worst case its probably not that bad.

Sounds like a high-class problem though.

Any hotels give any sort of discount with local ID midweek? Off strip, prefer West side, though that's not a deal breaker. I have family coming to town next week and the cheap among them want to know if I can help them out anywhere.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Question. I'm going to vegas for a few days and I would like a cheap and nice place to stay at. We're all college kids (so a low budget), but also picky, so what would be the best deal for us? Since I'm the only one out of the group who really gambles, everyone is depending on me to find deals. Are there discounts offered anywhere or with any travel agents? Areas of interest includes MGM, Aria, Wynn, or any other 4 to 5 star hotels.

edit: a few days before my friends come, I'm just playing a few events for the series. Is there anywhere I can grind for comps or is that very minuscule. Can I also request poker rates if that exists?

Thanks.

What sort of picky are you? About the size of the pool or not getting shot at? poker comps range from small to negligble. You can get a 5$ food voucher at the Rio I believe.

You can have plenty of fun at ythe B+ hotels like Bally's, Luxor, Excal, IP, Gold Coast, Stratosphere, Riviera. Consider doing a cheap hotel for Friday-Sunday and moving into a better one for weeknights.

Get on Expedia, Travelocity, kayak do a search pick the 4-5 star hotels and see which is the best deal. You may want to consider the pools.

Also sign up to the hotel email marketing. Some will give you a code that's good for a discount (definitely bringing the prices below that which you'd get through the usual internet search sites).

I'm going to stay at the rio from the 13th to the 16th for the series with a poker buddy of mine. I'm not so picky here since this is mostly business for me. After that a bunch of my friends who just graduated/finished college wants to have some fun and I do not want them to be secluded by the poker scene. I also do not want to be near that area since all I'd do is gamble. Rather we want to have fun on the strip, i.e. clubbing, mild gambling, shows, clubbing, etc. They kind of placed the burden on me since I'm the person with the most casino experience, even though I honestly know nothing about Vegas. I'm guessing their budget is around $20/night and there's going to be probably 7 or 8 of them coming down. I'm probably willing to pitch in another $100 or so a night, so our budget is probably $250/night approx. I'm wondering if I can get anything close to a suite for that price and if it can fit 8 people.

Thanks, I'll give those a shot. I actually just saw a few deals at Encore with a promo code from my dad for about $200/night, although I'm not sure if I can fit 7-8 people in one room.

yeah I've been looking for codes online and I'm wondering if there's any good ones for the 5-star hotels.

You won't (legitimately) get 8 in a room. 4 max, so you are looking at 2 rooms. If you really do the leg-work and scan all the codes, you may get an ok room on that budget, but it won't be 5* without you paying the difference.

And if their budget is $20/night, that doesn't bode well for the plans to have fun seeing shows, hitting clubs, mild gambling, eating and drinking. If they are doing all of that, they are going through a ton of money. If they have a ton of money to go through, they can peel a little bit more into the hotel budget.

You could get a biggish suite in a medicore hotel on $250/night, but it's not gonna be designed to sleep 8 (there will prolly be 1 bed) so there would be lots of sleeping on sofas and floors. And you have to fade/grease the staff reporting you for over-occupancy. Much better imo to get 2 twin rooms next to each other (connecting doors if you want them) in a better hotel, designed to sleep 8 in beds (2 guys to a queen bed)

Something like 2 twin rooms in Mirage/PH/MGM (with bonus code) should all be comfortably on budget and decent choices for that sort of group.

Why dont you get a room in the PH Westgate towers?
I pay like 3k for 8 nights over NYE for the 2 bedroom suite. Your dates will probably be cheaper.

Me and 2 friends are flying to vegas on the 3rd of july staying for a week. Trying to find hotels now but finding it harder because its 3 people. Is the best way to find a twin room with a roll away bed? One of the friends is on a tighter budget so might not mind sleeping on the roll away. Our budget is around $1400-$1750 total for the week. Im thinking ceasars or PH would be the best option? Any help would be really helpful, thanks in advance

that is way more than enough for 7 nights in one room. rollaway is a good option. also try to $20 trick a room with a sofa. then you wont even need the rollaway. Caesar's has never seemed like a great value to me, esp for kids on a budget. hard to say where to look without an idea of what you're planning for the week.

Based on an earlier post, I don't think that PH is going to be in your budget. If you don't mind walking, book a Club Deluxe room at The Trop with two queens and a chaise lounge. Not including resort fees it will be a lot less than your low end giving you more money to play on.

You could have a contest and whoever does the worst that day takes the chaise.

Or a classic room at Caesars will be really close to your low end.

Its only me thats into poker really so thats not too important. We will be going out alot to clubs etc trying to creep on females so that sort of vibe lol. One friend is keen on caesars mainly because of the name but are there other better options? We want to spend atleast on the lower end of the budget for a good room but i just want to find the best value really. The more "baller" the better

You can do a lot better than Trop by staying at the low/mid-range Harrah's properties and be in a better location. Bally's, Harrah's, and Flamingo might work, for instance. I stayed free at Flamingo for 4 nights and $20 tricked a minisuite, so it had its own living room. 6 people could easily have slept in that room. I stayed at Harrah's for like $39 midweek last summer. If you did that for 4 or 5 nights, you'd have enough to go super-baller on that budget for the weekend. Or look into a suite at Bill's. Several people have recommended Bill's to me as a 'best value' when I've been looking for bachelor party suites, but I've never stayed there.

Twin room and request a rollaway is starightforward. Your budget is plenty, no idea what you want to be close to/where you will play, but for example a poker rate at Ven/Palazzo comes in under budget, so you have no shortage of options.

If one guy is on a budget, then obv cut him a discount, but "might not mind" then becomes "doesn't get a choice" for the rollaway - you won't find a standard room with 3 permanent beds in it.

If all 3 guys can cover a fair third, auction the beds for the trip. So if the room totals $1500, everyone starts at $500 and the amount for a bed goes up until someone bails. So if the amount went up to $600, the guy who bails takes the rollaway and the costs are $600/$600/$300.

Or just flip, odd one out for the rollaway.

I am not a clubber so can't help you there but it seems a location you can get back to quickly (if you get lucky) would seem to be best.
