get one of those reflective cardboard window jauns. Without that, if you park it in the sun, yeah youll have to start it close the doors with the ac on for about 20 mins. At least i do, but im a big baby when it comes to heat.

You get used to looking for shaded places to park during the summer.

Hai guise. Can you locals confirm what limit games the Venetian spreads? The website is a little unclear. It looks like they start at $4-$8, yes? Do they spread any LO8?

Followup question. Since I will be fronting my wife's losses, do any of the nicer places spread anything lower, like a $1-$2 or a $2-$4?

Thanks.

Crack the side windows a little and the sunroof too if it has one. The hot air vents out the top and the interior will be 20 degrees cooler than it would be otherwise.

I'll be in Vegas for quite some time in June and July, but I'll be flying to the east coast for 3 weeks in July. Will I run into difficulties if I valet (or self-park) at a hotel for that time? Any TRs like this?

If it matters, I'm thinking MGM because of proximity to the airport, but I could be swayed to pretty much anywhere. I will be staying at Aria for a few nights before I leave.

I wouldn't valet for that period of time. Plenty of locals self-park at places like Luxor and cab it to the airport, so you wouldn't be alone. Not sure what (if anything) they do to crack down on this.

Yeah, they really have no way to check up on self-parking, I'd imagine. It would be *many* weeks before any red flags would go up, since certainly people stay there for 2+ weeks at a time, and I've never registered a car at check-in.

Ok, probably I will just self-park then. Beats the hell out of long-term @ McCarran.

Thanks.

How does the poker rate at the palazzo work, if I am going with a friend can we split the hours: each play 3 hours each day or could we theoretically just play 6 hours each day during the first part of our stay and just relax on the second part?

And I assume we can't get two cards of which the hours can be merged?

How much would a cab ride from bellagio to venetian cost?

thanks

got this email from the Venetian, (after a week):

If you wish, you may put a 1 time deposit of $100 for your entire stay. Please be advised, should you wish to do the $100 1 time deposit; you will not have the capability to charge amenities to your suite. Once a guest has checked out, the incidentals will be refunded between 5-10 business days on the credit card. A cash deposit will be refunded in cash.

So instead of having to deposit $1200 I can get away with $100 as long as I don't care about not being able to charge stuff to my room.

You can split it with one other person just make sure you put their name on the room when you check in. Also you just need to average 6 hrs a day, its not a minimum 6 per day.

Whats the best way to buy show tickets? I was wanting to see Mystere and was just curious if there is anyway to save $ off the retail price.

Also, did the Comedy Stop at the Trop ever re-open at a new casino yet?

Thanks for the fast response, so you get two different cards = we can play at the same time and still make it count towards the six hours or do we have to play in "shifts"?

Yep.

Venetian poker rate should be a sticky or something, considering how often this exact question is asked around here.

Correct, "no tunnel" will do it. Cab driver will possibly bitch and moan about the traffic on wherever and construction and roads closed and WHAAAAAAAA to which you politely repeat "no tunnel."

If you need to know (and you don't really), the cab will likely take Paradise to Flamingo, or Trop to Koval to Flamingo. Could also be Trop to Koval to Harmon to Audrie or the Strip. Any of that is fine, it'll all be cheaper than the freeway.

Cab from Bellagio to Venetian will depend entirely on time of day and traffic. Will run $6-12 generally.

Headed back at the end of June for a couple weeks, and would like to see some bands. Whats the best way to find upcoming bands/tours coming to vegas? Is it by looking up venues, (this seems cumbersome and inefficient) or is there a good source listing multiple venues.

www.pollstar.com is pretty good for this kind of thing.

A couple of times we were walking into the hotel and someone was there handing out 2 for 1 coupons (this was a weekday). I'd keep an eye peeled for that at whatever hotel is hosting Mystere.

I also saw tons of tickets available for a variety of shows at those discount booths all up and down the strip. Next time we go, we'll rely on those unless we can secure a deal ahead of time. The discount may not be huge for some, but it's better than full price.

I'll be arriving in Vegas later this month with 4 friends and it's our first time in Vegas for all of us. We're staying at the MGM which is obv one of the first hotels on the Strip, so we thought to make the cab ride a bit more exciting we'd get the driver to take us on a mini-tour of the city so we can see the sights on the way. We were thinking maybe just to drive down the Strip to the Stratosphere then turn round and go back up to the MGM.

Does this sound like a good idea for an intro to Vegas or is it too much of a pita to drive all the way down the strip and back with all the traffic etc? How long would it take and how much would it cost?

I would go over to the limos waiting outside the airport (the real limos, not the shuttle limos) and tell them what you want and ask how much. I would guess you could find a stretch to do it for $60 or $70, whereas a stinky cab would probably be $25 to $30.
