thanks!
Celebrity Spa suite beats the bungalow. The signature is a nicer room from the picture, and if it was only 20-30 bux more per night, I would probably take it. Our room is really big, so sacrificing space for amenities would be an EZ sell. But we are only paying $89 or so per night here, and I don't know what the signature goes for.

Our last night here, and then off to Trump for 4 nights.

They have two completely different personalities. The regular MGM suites are in the hotel connected to the casino. Loud, bustling, boisterous, lots of people. Signature is separated quite a distance from the casino. Quiet, reserved, proper. They won't throw you out for stumbling down the hall drunk at 5 a.m. but you will get plenty of dirty looks. You get an idea of the demeanor the Signature is trying to present before you even get into the place - the valets wear white gloves.

Truth.

If some drunk sits at the poker table and immediately slurs out "hey... is there a waitress around here or what?" and the dealer shouts out "cocktails on 4" then it's just a lark. Nobody is doin' nuthin', and they're just going to wait for the waitress to make her normal rounds.

But if 5 people at the table all agree "seriously, something is up--it's been 45 minutes" then probably the floor will actually make a call. One recent time that happened the waitress came in 5 minutes later apologizing to the room with a "sorry guys--there was some confusion at the shift change and nobody was assigned to work the poker room."

So yeah, you can ask. But it usually only helps if you can provide documentation as to when the last round was delivered and corroborating witness statements.

My last trip in September I ran up and down the strip a few times. Went from Wynn to Luxor, no problems. The stairs for the pedestrian bridges added a nice change to the workout.

I went early morning, around 5 or 5:30am, definitely plenty of other runners out. The occasional "leftover" from the previous night added to the entertainment value.

Once for a change of scenery I ran a few miles west on Flamingo instead. I found this no fun at all, very pedestrian unfriendly.

Hai guise,

The wife and I are looking to head to Vegas for a few days in June. Was looking to stay at the Venetian. Can someone explain to me how the poker rate works, how one qualifies, etc.?

Also, would consider staying at any of the Rio, Wynn, Belagio, Palms or Aria if you have any thoughts on why it would be better/a better deal than the Venetian.

While there we'll probably be looking to see Penn & Teller Sunday night (arriving on SUnday), and I'll probably be looking to rent a classic car to do a wedding chapel crawl and renew our vows a few times with various Elvii. If any of you locals have any advice on any of that, I'd appreciate that as well.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks, David. 6 hours a day is more than I'm willing to commit to, and definitely more than the wife will let me get away with.

Probably a stupid question, but my wife plays also. If we both average 3 hours a day, would that qualify?

Thanks again.

To be precise, the people listed on the room have to total 6 hours * # of nights stayed in any combo and on any of the days staying there. Peruse the linked thread and the V's website for some more info on the rate and the details.

Gents,

I am going to Vegas next week (8 - 15 May) and will be staying at PH and Bellagio.

Can you please give me a recommendation for places on the strip where I can get:

1. Good steak (not overly pricey if possible)
2. Good chicken wings
3. Good burgers

Also is there a good sports bar on the strip?

Thanks!

If its of any importance in terms of quality of stay. Wife and I spent a week at the venetian and loved it. The beds are phenomenal, the room is fantastic, the bathroom is enormous. The shower has room for two if ones on their knees. Its hooked directly to great shopping and restaurants, and the poker room is great. The tables are filled with rich players with no clue. Get a decent deal price locked in, but its totally worth 200-300 a night for an experience in my book.

I surprisingly loved the burger at Planet Dailies in PH the few times I went there. And if youre looking for a decent steak for not too too much money, go to Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris. Nice atmosphere too, across from the Bellagio fountains with outdoor seating available.

Ate the hamburger at the Bellagio snack bar and found it outstanding($ 9.95 with cole slaw or chips). Best I've had in awhile. Snack bar is bus station atmosphere but right next to the poker room.

Go into any casino, locate a waitress, put a dollar in the cheapest slot machine near her. Pull the reels once as she approaches. You can get a beer for $1 tip + house edge on one pull.

I will try and give you a wide range of choices for each question. I'm not saying i'd choose all of these, but everyone is different.

1. N9ne - Palms (this may qualify as overly pricey)
Prime - Bellagio (this is definately overly pricey)
Ellis Island - not overly pricey. mention the special. i forget what it's called

2. Hooters
?

3. Le Burger Braserie - Paris
BLT Burger - Mirage
Burger Bar - Mandalay Bay

Sports Bars: I only know the overly commercialized/over priced ones:
ESPN Zone - NYNY
Emeril's Stadium - Palazzo
Does every sport book count as a sports bar?
