The only thing to note is that the moving sidewalk is one-way. In order to return to the Flamingo from Caesars, you'll need to exit through the main entrance, so the trip will be a little bit longer.

It's still a trivial walk, IMO, although you should know that I consider Mirage to Bellagio a trivial walk and have gotten comments that I'm out of the ordinary.

Ask for an extra key at check-in. Asking for two extra is pushing it IMO but one is pretty standard.

If the pool doesn't require an active key to enter, you can also claim a lost key and get new keys - the old ones will be deactivated but they'll still get you into the pool as long as you don't have to swipe it.

If there's a poolside cafe, though, the easiest way to get extra people into the pool is to have them wear normal clothes, claim they're just joining you at the cafe, and then changing once inside the pool area.

I don't mind about actually walking so that's fine.

That's great news about asking for an extra key, and if they push me on why I'll just say "just in case" followed by "nevermind, it's wasn't important". Should keep me right.

Also a decent option as I know there's a poolside bar.

Cheers Callipygian for all the thoughts and advice.

I'm trying to find the best deal on "O" or Le Reve. Do residents get a break on tickets to Cirque shows? Can comps be applied to show tickets in some way? Wondering if I could work a mutually beneficial deal with a resident.

I can get Le Reve tickets for $125. Not a spectacular deal, but after taxes they normally go for ~$140-145 iirc.

You can get Cirque tickets online for any number of different deals, I got mine 40% off last summer. Doesn't require a local. Just do some searching.

And if you gamble enough, comps can be applied to anything.

There are no suites in Vegas that will comfortably (or uncomfortably) sleep 15.

How bad is the Imperial Palace? It seems to be the cheapest hotel on the strip, other options in the same price range are: Gold Coast, Hooters, Stratosphere.

Are Flamingo or Bally's worth the 80% premium in price?

IP isnt filthy, but its laid out poorly, the elevators are mind numbingly slow and a lot of the rooms are adjacent to loud music which plays most of the night. I hate it. Even if I'm not on the loud music side of the building I hate it.

Hooters is a filthy dive. I hate it way more than IP.

Excalibur is the best value for hotels in that price range imo, but if you do not have a car there, its not as convenient as IP to get to the middle of the strip.

If you're going to pay for something as expensive as Bally's, I'd suggest looking at MGM Grand and TI - those are the two best values for the mid priced hotels imo.

"worth it" will be your decision.

Yeah, most hotels aren't available though in the time period I want to go.
Wynn/Encore charges a huge premium for two queen beds instead of a king.

Excalibur, MGM and TI are booked in that period. Only other option seems to be the Venetian but its another $450 more.

It's just that I kind of like the location, and the price is just so cheap. I can save up to almost $100 a day by staying there instead of the venetian.

So should I just try to get a room on the third floor (because of the slow elevators?) using the $20 trick?

Ask for a room away from the side where the music plays outside at night imo. Dont try to leave your room at ~10:30am when people are trying to check out. It took me over 20 minutes to get from my room to the first floor once when I left the room at 10:45am. Every elevator that stopped at my floor was crammed full of people - so I kept having to wait for another. When I finally got on one, it stopped at EVERY floor on the way down. A lower floor room sounds like a good idea. I dont know if there is a stairway that doesnt set the alarm off or not.

Wife and I are heading to vegas end of the month for 4-5 days. The days will be thrusday through monday i think. Staying at Treasure Island. Looking for a bit of advice. I play 25nl online and win at that. dabbled in some 50nl basically down like a BI lifetime.

Looking to bring $4-600 with me to play poker with as i want to use the rest for food/shows and whatever. I have read a few reviews of TI and it seems that its a ok place to play 1/2NL at.

Any advice on where to play close to TI or is TI good spot? Seen a few people talking about how good MGM is on the weekends for us, is that a bit of a walk? seems to be from the map ive looked at.

Also in terms of walking the strip at night from like shows or dinner or wahtever. maybe 1-2am would be the latest normally how is the safety?

Any other general advice is welcome as we plan to spend alot of time at shows/site seeing that kinda thing (Grand canyon/hoover dam). But would like to be able ot make a bit of money while im there also if possible. Also any advice for who would be the best value (read price/length) for helicopter rides to the grand canyon?

When that happens (in any hotel), press the up button. Get in the empty one that stops, then you'll have to go to the highest floor someone called the elevator from and you'll still stop at all the lower floors, but you'll be on the right side. Waive at the people on your original floor that looked confused that you were going up when they can't get in.

Don't waste your time going to the MGM unless you really want to play their .50/1 game. For 1/2 or 1/3, TI or Venetian across the street is just fine. Your bankroll is pretty small though, 2 buy-ins unless you shortstack it.

You can play 1/2 anywhere, TI included, and you won't see any difference in the game. MGM's way the hell down the street, no need to go there.

The strip is safe enough 24 hours a day. Always a ton of people. At 2am it will be packed.

The IP has stairs - no alarm. I have used them many times in the morning. If you are on a high floor, use the "going up" trick mentioned in the previous post.

yeah, this is what I did. Its pretty ****ty to have to do that, and it sucks to have to spend time stopping on every floor when the elevator is cram packed. ****ty hotel imo.

The IP is fine. Cheap rooms and great location. The main bank of elevators in the back by the shops can be very very slow. To avoid that try to get in the front tower (to use the first bank of elevators by the Keno Area) making sure to NOT get a room facing the Harrahs Carnival Court. Those rooms are very loud at night with the noise from Carnival Court. The other trick is if you have to use the back elevators, find the bank of two elevators behind the main bank. As you are heading to the elevators from the casino take a left just past the bar before the elevators and there they are. For some reason everyone ignores them and they are MUCH faster.
