I'm getting old, so probably not

I have the April Fool's 8k/half booked (which is kind of related to this forum) and hope to PR the BSR (if it happens).

Sorry... didn't mean to derail... carry on.

I saw about the ATMs on google but it seems that they charge 10%~ vig (!!). Do you know if this is accurate or if there are some with better rates?

It's been my experience that Vegas hotels let you book two weeks max. For three weeks you'd need to change hotels or check out and back in. TI is a decent home base for the places you're interested in playing at.

I think I’m planning to be in Vegas for 3 weeks during the WSOP in 2022 if things are back to normal. Just wondering if anyone has tips to get best deal? I’ll probably stay at the same hotel for 3 weeks and would like to be on strip so I can walk to events each day ( I plan to play Venetian/ WSOP/ and maybe Wynn). Might travel a bit for dailies but goal is to be close to strip so i can walk for the main tournies i plan to play (dailies are something I would do at night if I bust a tourny early so very low priority).

I’ve been looking and prices seem to be $3k+ for this. Even harrahs is like 4-5k during this time frame. Any chance these prices go down or nah? I plan to book when the WSOP schedule is released so I assume Jan- feb. any other places I can stay that are cheaper but still solid to sleep at? I stayed at the Saraha for one trip and would never go there again. I didn’t like the walk to the northern area bc it was a little sketchy at night.

Any other avenues I can take like Airbnb where I won’t have to drive too much (will not have a car and would have to rent). I’ve stayed at harrahs this year for 2 trips and found the walk nice each morning and I like to get breakfast on the strip each morning.

Places like the Wynn/ Venetian are out of my price range. I get offers from the Venetian for discounts but the prices are still insane. I’m not really too picky with where I sleep. All I care about is a solid hotel that isn’t too loud and I don’t have to worry about getting robbed (harrahs had a safe in room- Saraha had a broken safe lmao when I stayed there).

Thanks for the info. TI looks nice for the price point but currently booked in June so can’t stay there. I might just stay at the Linq or another cheaper option on the strip.

The west gate/stratosphere look like good value but i wanna avoid the long walk everyday from north or the strip. I’ve seen people poo poo both of those places on here also so I will avoid. The Sahara was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed that was of decent quality (and not some shitty motel).

How long ago were you at the Sahara? IMO They have upgraded nicely in the last couple years.

I was there in February this year. It’s not a bad hotel if you wanna spend a low amount. I just found it kinda unsafe due to location and the room was dark and dingy + my safe didn’t work. I found the rooms at harrahs much nicer (and safer). And I’m not someone that thinks very highly of harrahs.

A safe not working in a Vegas room to me is a sin and should be something that doesn’t happen. Idk about everyone but I tend to bring a fairly large amount of cash when I go
So I expect the room safe to work. The room also was dark and had this ugly poster behind the bed that was creepy. The room had these weird blinds to show a view to outside behind the hotel which was odd (it wasn’t a view type window- it just lead to the back of the hotel and someone could walk up to your window if they wanted which is a motel type thing).

The poker room at saraha was cool and seemed to attract fish at the low stakes but they almost never had multiple games going. I could see that room not surviving due to how slow the games are.

What is your current players’ club status with CET? If you don’t have a current ADT, you could probably get easy comps or at least deep discounts for almost any date you want by going to a local CET casino for one day and putting a few thousand dollars worth of play on a good VP machine.

do I have to bring a bunch of face masks or do the hotels/casinos give you one?

They have stands around where you can just grab one.

Depends on what kind of mask you’re looking for.

You’ll get the cheap surgical masks for free everywhere. If you want to use N95/FFP2 masks you might need to bring some.

When I flew internationally in November, they handed out FFP2 masks because airline/destination country required them. I just grabbed a bunch of those and use them now when traveling domestically.

I am planning to be in Vegas next week and I want to play poker MOSTLY at the Wynn (Encore), Bellagio, and Aria. I have a car rental because my wife's hotel is not particularly close to the strip.

Which parking garage is the best in terms of accessibility, security, and ease of getting around those 3 properties?

This is my first trip to Vegas where I have a car. In the past I always walkes or rose the Deuce. Anything else special I need to know about parking?

I was curious about that. I was assuming every place was free but from your answer it sounds like that isn't the case.

Caesar's and MGM's casinos have paid parking, the other casinos are free.

Anyone ever play at Sunset Station? They show a $3/$6 Omaha 8 game that always runs per poker atlas. Even though it’s a hike to anywhere I was thinking I’d give it a try? Anyone ever play it? Probably full of miserable ancient rocks but I’d like to try O8 and it’s probably the lowest game in town and a change from Orleans.

Also anyone still spread a low limit stud game? Supposedly Sam’s ran it occasionally when they had an open room.

Gotcha. It used to have 1 and sometimes two tables running but now doesn’t seem to go as often lately. Looks like lowest elsewhere is 4/8 Omaha 8 at orleans and southpoint and 4/8 high only at Boulder station

I can't by any stretch of the imagination come up with a way that "lol" is offensive there. Am I missing something? I'm 99% sure DaNit wasn't offended. It was kinda funny asking about a room that's been closed for 6 years, no? I don't know, maybe I've been using lol wrong all these years and offending people right and left.

Darn not surprised but was hoping for another option than Orleans to get my feet wet. Wasn’t aware that SP spread it. I’ll get bravo and see what pops up. Thanks

Yeah no worries my fault for confusing rooms. I can make the distinction in my head between Palace and Boulder Station but for some reason Santa Fe, Texas and Sunset are one big jumbled mess. Lol at least I didn’t ask about Texas Station.

Are there spots in or near Vegas ideal for running like a Greenway? I'm flying out to Vegas today for a week and want to run. In the past I would start at MGM and run towards Mandalay Bay and the Vegas sign but the sidewalk ends soon after that airport.

This time I have a rental car and don't mind driving somewhere more ideal.

I have some friends who have never been to Vegas and they want to stay on the strip but do it on the cheap. when i look at flights and hotels they are all within $50.00 so I just wonder if the price is the same what hotel would people recommend.
