The problem, for me at least, is that this is too broad of a thread to subscribe to. I don't think it's the same as leon's thread or the cooking threads in OOT where I want to be aware of any recent posts.

However, because it's general, then it should get pushed up naturally.

What does the walk from Palms Place to the Rio entrance feel like? Hard to say from all the entrances etc.

If he has any success at all he'll be at the Rio late.

Is the rio really that bad? I was thinking of that as an alternative.

I'll try that place south of the rio with all the mixed games. Only been to Las Vegas once, happy to be finally trying the wsop.
Orleans? I wouldn't say "all the mixed games" though. They might have one sometimes, or Omahahaha. Otherwise if you want to play the weird obsolete games, you have to enter a tournament.

I much prefer the visibility of this thread instead of the "hay guize where can I find the absolute BEST 1/2 game in town?" threads that pop up at least twice a month around here

I don't suppose anyone has any landlord or rental agent connections? Flying out for a 2 month stay early November and really struggling to find a semi reasonable place. Ideally looking to stay really close to the strip so I don't have to uber all the time. Somewhere like the Signature, Jockey club or Meridian would be perfect.

Thanks

If you don't get any response here there's a room/roommate thread in LVL. Also, there are quite a few threads in General Marketplace having to do with rooms. Maybe you can get a lead there? No luck with airbnb or vrbo? I've used evolve rentals several times and always got a really nice place although I've never tried them for Vegas.

I've done MGM Signature through VRBO and was happy with the experience.

I know there is controversy over wearing sunglasses at a poker table but as I am getting older I notice I am straining my eyes more and more. After hours at a poker table I now get headaches just from the lighting and eye strain.

I have an eye exam later this week and looking to pick me up some new glasses. Iv never worn glasses before and since I will mainly use them for when I play poker I am aiming for something that will help cover any leaks I may have.

Rather have something that is comfortable and well crafted but is low key and is not flashy. Budget is up to $200 per frames and with lenses up to $400 is fine.

Any suggestions? Been looking and rather not have the ones that act like mirrors as I likely could never force myself to wear them. Something with a slight tint that will help with the lighting, eye strain, and make it easier to read the flop if i am at the far end of the table.

Cupid,

Not sure this will help with the poker end of your goals, but here goes...

Might try getting some of the light-sensitive lenses. I forget the commercial name, but the ones which darken up under more intense light. I've worn them for years, like them both indoors and out.

As for comfortable & well-crafted, I've also had good luck with Ray-Bans from Target optical. I think they're roughly in your cost range.

Any locals know when the current mask mandate (there is a mask mandate still in force for all, regardless of vaccination status, at local casinos, right?) is set to expire?

The cases/100k must get to a certain level. I don't remember the number.

Two weeks to flatten the curve

This seems to have the info you are seeking, but there is some question about the threshold, as I have seen two different numbers bounced around.

https://www.8newsnow.com/news/health...tm_source=t.co

As far as I can tell, the earliest a mask mandate could be lifted is two weeks from now, but I may not be understanding things correctly.

Hi all. I'm coming to town 10/17-10/25. Normally I book a car at Dollar because the prices are reasonable and there is a high convenience factor with Express membership. I walk right past the counter, go down into the garage, check in at the kiosk which takes about 60 seconds, get in a car, and leave. I've had several times where the total elapsed time between getting off the shuttle and exiting into the Vegas sun in the car was like 6 minutes.

This time, I see that Fox's rate is over 20% less than Dollar or any of the other national competition. Any thoughts? Horror stories? Good stories?

Thanks in advance.

I used Fox for the 1st time back in June, car was clean, well maintained, and just fine. It does take 2 shuttles to get there, one to the Rental Car Center, and then the Fox shuttle to their facility, a few blocks north of South Point. They let you choose the car you want from your reserved type/range, full size were Camry's or Sonata's.

I had 2 horrible experiences with them. Although neither were in L.V. Once they charged me for gas when it was full and cleaning a clean car. Second was mis labeling the return location, which caused me to miss a flight.

Their customer service was awful after the fact.

Some of the places aren't 24 ours anymore fwiw.

Do they have a direct shuttle from their facility to the airport for returns?

Thanks for the info.

Same. Amusingly one of their customer service officers who helped me with a pickup once was named Avis.
