I am ultra low roller, in pretty good shape and I would never walk from Ex Cal to Rio in the heat, but if you do certainly do the tram to the Bellagio as mentioned. $12 to $15 max each way unless there is a concert or something going on. I do Uber/Lyft a few times each trip. As stated above, add up Uber and compare to Gold Cost or even the Rio, Palms would be a great option (never stayed there). If just doing the one event, then the Uber cost is nothing, about what I paid to do the online registration for Colosus last year.

If your budget is too tight for Uber rides, consider staying at Rio, Palms or Gold Coast.

thanks guys, honestly did not think the walks would be THAT long like I said in the other thread, also I thought rio rooms are usually 125-140$ a night duing WSOP and from what ive read on this site the last several years, its def not worth that much.

guess i ll look for deals and set aside 100$ for UBER when I do end up going.

thank you, any other tips woudl be welcome. I assuem I dont want to book my return flight until I know im knocked out of the tourney? (even tho theres a 1% chance I do cash in one lol)

Depends on your airline and if you plan on using points for your flight. In most instances, you pay a significant premium for getting a same-day or even next-day flight that makes that one way trip more expensive than a regular round trip ticket. In that case you better get a regular round trip and see if makes sense to pay a little extra for a flexible return flight. Or you get a round trip without flexible dates and in case you get into the money you just forfeit the return leg and book a return flight after you bust for 1-2 days later.

walk the hallway from Park to Aria, the entrance from Park down the escalator puts you directly in front of burgers & poker

Thanks. Haven’t ever been in Park, so apologies if the question was obvious to those that have been there. Appreciate the help

You should be able to find weekday for $45-55 a night (Sunday-Thursday) with Friday and Saturday being around $130-155 a night for RIO. Of course need to add in resort fees.

Compare this to the strip casinos (Harrahs, Flamigo, LINQ) with rates around $25-40 for weekday and $90-125 for weekends.

IMO staying on the Strip or staying at the RIO comes down to preference. If you consider Uber cost to and from the RIO than both break pretty much even.

Prices are if you keep an eye out and snag the good rates when they pop up. Do not be afraid to cancel reservations and rebook when rates change. Last year I rebook around 7 times and by the end of if saved half the hotel cost.

That legionnaires disease in 2017 caused RIO hotel prices too drop. I stayed in the casino a few days after and got great rates. Didn't realize it until I was already at the hotel about it.

I did the walk from Planet Hollywood to Rio (with couple stops in belligio and ceasers) once at the start of June.

Ugh never again...but if I were to do it I would have plenty of cold water on me.

First advice would be to not come in July unless you want to play the WSOP ME.

Second advice if you want to save money is to rent from a non-airport location and take Uber to get there. There’s also Turo for renting cars if that’s your thing.

It depends. Most people here probably have TR or mlife and get hotels cheaper by themselves. But I've heard lots of people, especially Euros, getting combined rates much cheaper than they would separately.

I booked hotel already for July (vdara) and am still looking for flight deals. And car rentals. Supposedly both are cheapest a couple weeks out.

I don't know of other airlines but as far as Southwest is concerned prices will go up as you reach a flight date. They offer 5 price ranges but a week before or if the flights fill, you will only be able to book the most expensive flights.

As an example , recently I changed and left Vegas one day early because of incoming weather and the cost was $485 more than my previously booked flight (bout $200) . I was only offered the most expensive (business select option).

Of course airlines differ but I believe Southwest is more forgiving with/changed/cancelled flights.

Hopefully this is the proper location to ask. Apologies if it isn't.

I am going to be in Vegas (first time) from the 14th to the 18th. I am mainly going to be playing cash while I am there; however, I want to play at least one tournament while I am there.

The ones I am most interested in currently are:
$400 WSOP-C at RIO - Saturday (day2 sunday)
$230 weekly at the Wynn - Saturday (rebuys and addon)
$200 Event 36 @ Ventian DSE - Saturday
If I do well in cash on Thursday and Friday, event 31 @ Venetian ($800 - 250k gtd)

Two biggest questions:

If I do WSOP C or Event 36, would these be gtd 2 day or possibility of spilling to 3 days? My flight leaves at 9am Monday morning, so I don't want to have to sweat re-scheduling my flight

How would you rank these events in terms of location and field? I have heard stories that WSOP-C Rio is dark and gross and that the Wynn weekly is a proper nit fest.

Thanks!

Are rooms really noisy in the Jubilee tower, Bally because of clubs in both Flamingo and Paris?

If you’re still thinking about staying on the strip look into the myVEGAS game on Facebook and mobile. You can easily rack up some free MGM property rooms or food between now and The WSOP (still have to pay resort fee though). Also look into the Wynn Slots app, where you can win free rooms (I’m already more than halfway toward a free night after playing a week) with no resort fee and fewer restrictions on usage (you are often limited to a night at a time at MGM through myVEGAS).

Best part: all free if you resist the temptation to buy chips in these games.

Hi all, Long time lurker and haven't posted in a while.

I go to vegas in 4 weeks(Buzzing!!), firstly for a few days with a mate then onto a stag do Thursday - Monday (21st March- 25th)
I am fully aware its March Madness so i know its going to be busy, this will be my 3rd visit (TR possible) but just wanted a bit of advice with the group activities.

There are going to be 9/10 of us, currently the things we have planned are:
Top Golf
Freemont street/ Zip Wire
Blondies 3-6pm Beer pong all you can drink - Do we just turn up? or can we reserve
Club Tour one evening, again do we just sort out when we are there or best to pre-book as i know it will be busy.
Most of the week will be pretty free and unplanned but just wanted to know whether we should pre book any of the things above (assume zip wire we wont need to)

All the best

You don't need to book Blondies or Fremont Zip Wire, don't know about Club Tour though

Wynn app is also totally free if you don’t buy chips. You just have to be diligent about collecting chips throughout each day and set the reels to auto spin to build up the gems you redeem for the rooms.

You can Google about the app for best strategies.

I’ve been playing two weeks and have earned enough for a free night during my June 30-July 4 and well on my way to a second one. I figure to get all four nights comped at this rate...and those are $200 a night rooms so a pretty sweet freebie.
