Plus, McMullans Irish Pub is across the street, good 24 hr food and drink and a respite from cheesy casino atmosphere!

The Orleans will have more grumpy regulars, and less drunken tourists than on the strip, but it's an excellent, well run poker room for low limit players, with plenty of tables and plenty of action from plenty of bad players. I like the comps and promotions too. I've hit small pieces of jackpots a few times. They collect $2 for promotions, but only drop $3 per hand, which I believe is overall a comparatively decent deal. Restaurants are more reasonably priced, so Boyd comp dollars go further than at Caesars or MGM properties.
Oh yeah, I love playing at the Orleans outside of the players. Doesn't get a lot of casino noise, good lighting, good promos, games spread hardly anywhere else, likable dealers and floors. If I was a local, I'd probably be there a few times a week until I snap and get barred from fist-fighting one of the insufferable regs.

I don't really agree with you on the food front, because the only Caesars and MGM properties I went to give $2/hr and have similar low-cost options along with their **** that high priced ones. I'd agree with you if Orleans gave $2/hr.

Bellagio does not really have any discount food options. "Snacks" used to be, but a few years ago they renovated into something fancier with higher prices, and the prices have kept being increased since then.

Unless Uber Eats or Dominoes started to deliver inside Bellagio, there aren’t any cheap food options..

Snacks had decent salad and sandwich options back in the day, now it’s overpriced mediocre pizza and burgers. Which is really sad because they are right next to the poker room.

Well I went to Aria (mgm) and that pizza place was like the same price as Sbarro and waaaaay better. And on Caesar's side, Caesar's Palace has a ton of options, surely some of them aren't so bad.

When anyone here is comparing Orleans comps to other players, the most likely place is going to be Bellagio. They're the only other place that has any kind of similar game selection in town, and the other one where a lot of locals play, partially because it is easy to get in and out of from the highway. I don't think that many locals play at Aria; certainly not those who want to play limit poker.

Five50 Pizza? I agree that their pizza is pretty good, but last time we went the pie was close to $30. That’s not really a bargain price.

Well, a slice and soda is like 10 bucks, while it's like 9 at Sbarro at Orleans where you're earning half the comps. Obviously not cheap cheap, but cheap for Vegas casino food.

The existence of all those extended stay places is curious. Like, who is even the market for them to allow so many to exist? I could see the odd gaming employee setting up shop to find a job, or someone who recently relocated staying there to get settled, but that's probably not enough of a customer base to explain all of them. My theory is that it's 90% escorts.

I believe it's mostly people who can't get a regular lease on an apartment because they don't meet the credit and income requirements.

Perhaps that's it, but every city's population runs into that same issue and there isn't really a noticeable amount of such places like in Vegas.

I think there likely are more people in that category in Vegas than in most similarly sized cities. The availability of gambling on pretty much every corner of the city leads a lot of locals to ruin, or at least terrible credit. Add that to the people who come here to try to make it in the gambling world, often because they have not been doing well wherever they came from, and it adds up to a lot of people.

Plus sure, I'll throw the hookers in there too if you like, but I can't imagine that's more than 10% of the residents. There are hookers in other cities too.

other places either don’t have demand or the COL of the area makes them unfeasible except for primarily corporate-paid temp housing.

a month at a Siegel type place would be $2500+ in most of the populated areas on both coasts

If you have a deposit, good credit rating, and pass a background check I'd imagine. Also, that's in a part of town that is not too nice and is really far away and inconvenient from the strip.

If you want to use comps for stores and restaurants other than fast food, your comp dollars at The Orleans will go as far or further than MGM/Caesars because the prices at Orleans are closer to regular retail prices for comparable restaurants and shops than the hyper-inflated corporate Strip gouge. I like the Asian restaurant (Chinese/Japanese) and the Prime Rib Loft.

Anyone know if the Bellagio hotel gym has a squat rack?

Alternatively, where is a good place near the strip I could go and buy a day pass and do some squats. Key factors are proximity and likelihood that I won't have to wait for a rack on a weekend morning.

Has anyone who has seen LOVE comment on if me purchasing front row seats was a good or bad thing? I feel like we may almost be TOO close and unable to see some of the show?

I am in 104, Row A, those 2 seats in the very front.

Love is a good one to be in front row. I don't recall any big tricks where I was benefited from being in the back.

Coming to Vegas tomorrow with a bit of an eclectic group. It will pretty much be half guys/girls in their late 20s/early 30s and half women in their early 50s who pretty much fit the 'Cougar' description.

The older women are dead set on going to a club one night. I really want nothing to do with the bigger clubs as I absolutely hate waiting in line to get in to a place and hate waiting to get drinks (and don't really love dance/hip hop music but don't mind it in the right atmosphere). The younger crowd is kind of in the same boat as me, but the older women want the typical Vegas club experience.

Is there any place that will be able to hit the following:

1. Club like atmosphere
2. No Cover (cover is okay if all other criteria is hit)
3. Reasonable drink prices (for Vegas, I am from NYC so i don't mind paying $10 for a mixed drink)
4. No line to get in and getting drinks at the bar won't be a mission

Any recs for what strip casinos free drinks while gambling are the best? Would love to get a good mojito/margarita/etc, but best I could tell last time I was at Harrahs bottom shelf liquor in soda was about as good as I could expect them to bring. (Not that I’m complaining, the price is right)

your expectations are way to high, come back down to earth!

nowhere has reasonable drink prices, get that out of your head. good luck finding a bud light for $10 at a good club.

to defeat the waiting around/wolfpack scenario at the bar you gotta reserve a table and buy a couple of bottles.

When I saw the show, I was in the 200s row and I felt like I could not see all of the show, as they use most of the scene. There are so many things going on at once that you'll feel you are missing out on some things anyway.

That being said, I would hate being seated one on side as I would miss out on what is happening on the other side.

You'd be much better seating in the 200s AFAIK.

Good show however if you like the Beatles and their music.

I'll be going to see Blink 182 in November when I get there, fits much more my style of music!

This isnt strictly about Vegas, but still hope someone living there or nearby can help. Going to Vegas next year and looking at shorter trips since Red Rock was such a blast this year. Found the following:

3-day tour of Sedona, Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon from Las Vegas.

Its leaving 6am Wed and back in Vegas Friday night.

Anyone been to these places, pros and cons?
