Last night I booked it for 2 nights in January.
Used Hilton Reward points and only had to pay the resort fees which were $33 (gulp) per day. $66 for the trip.
The resort fee includes: internet access; fitness center access; valet/self parking; buy 1-get 1 free signature cocktail in Oakville Steakhouse 5PM-7PM daily; 2 for 1 at the Laugh Factory; 2 bottles of water per stay; local & toll-free calls.
Now the big question is will they give us a bag of warm chocolate chip cookies upon check-in like they do at all other Doubletrees?
Original post was from November.
Just returned from the 2 nights at the Tropicana. Saturday night the 27th - Monday the 29th.
The $20 trick had amazing results. We went from our standard room in the old tower, to a big suite on the 19th floor of the Club Tower with an amazing view of the strip.
Maybe it was due to a combination of both the $20 trick and that we are Hilton Honors members we got such a sweet room? Whatever it was, it was one of the best $20 trick upgrades I have done.
First time I have stayed there in 20+ years, and we will be back.
A separate check in line for Hilton Honors members was speedy, and despite other reports, we did in fact get a couple of the signature Doubletree cookies upon check-in.
Hotel seemed clean, and was less crazy than the bigger hotels. Bed was super comfortable, though the pillows sucked like they do at most Vegas hotels we have stayed in, with the lone exception of the Delano.
Robert Irvine's new restaurant was very good..and if you stay there you get a complimentary appetizer with each entree purchased. Food/Service was 4/5.
Now that it has been renovated, The Tropicana offers excellent value on the Strip..would recommend..
