Thanks everyone for the responses on the Tropicana.

Last night I booked it for 2 nights in January.

Used Hilton Reward points and only had to pay the resort fees which were $33 (gulp) per day. $66 for the trip.

The resort fee includes: internet access; fitness center access; valet/self parking; buy 1-get 1 free signature cocktail in Oakville Steakhouse 5PM-7PM daily; 2 for 1 at the Laugh Factory; 2 bottles of water per stay; local & toll-free calls.

Now the big question is will they give us a bag of warm chocolate chip cookies upon check-in like they do at all other Doubletrees?

no cookies, the relationship with Hilton Rewards is more of a marketing thing so the Trop comes up if you search vegas on the Hilton site, and you can use your points.

the resort fee really sucks in that my gf was Silver at that time and we would have gotten all that anyway, but they wouldn't waive the resort fee.

after the trip she did contact Hilton about that and if I recall correctly, they just gave us some bonus points

Can anyone recommend one of those bar/club crawl companies? I see one on groupon but looks like there are a ton of options out there. Anyone have a good experience with them?

So where are the best places to play 2/5?

regarding uber, I saw somewhere a ride from red rock to the strip would be $40? That can't be right can it?

That seems high if they meant Red Rock Casino. They could have meant Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

I live in Summerlin about 2 miles from RR and an Uberpool ride from my house to Bellagio runs about $13-15 (actually it costs me $2.99 with an Uber ride pass but you won’t have one of those) so from RR to the strip should be $15-20. Also, RR to the Bellagio is about 12 miles if you take W Flamingo Rd. Other routes are about 18 miles.

I’d stick to Bellagio, Aria, Wynn (Encore), and The Venetian for 2/5 as they’ll have the most games and are pretty close to each other. Max BI’s are $500, $1000, $1500, and $1000 at those 4 casinos.

Lotus of Siam’s website says they are closed until further notice but there’s also a flamingo rd location on google. Can anyone confirm/deny what the situation is? Thanks.

Anyone have any experience with the Planet Hollywood sports book, specifically VIP? Guys I'm with want to chill and watch games Sunday, and rather than worry about getting up early and heading somewhere with a great sports book, my preference would be to just hang where we're staying if the book is passable. I know "VIP" is only $60pp F&B, which tells me it's nothing special, but can't really find any information online. If it's an actual separate area with nice seating and big ol' TV viewing, that's fine; but if it's just reserved seating with the hoi polloi, eh....

Haven't done VIP at the Planet Hollywood sports book, but from what it looks like in there, it's just a roped-off area.

If I’m landing at 4:50 tonight, what are the chances I can make it to a sports book before kickoff? And what’s the best strategy? Uber? Cab to mgm? Staying at PH. Which book is closer to the can drop off and which would have shorter lines? Or should I give up—hopeless?

Put the bet in online imo. MGM is closest but the book wooo be a ***** to get to, then the prime time line of people getting their bets in. I’m sorry man but there’s no way.

If you were in the cab at 4:50...maybe

Actually- if you really need a bet and want to make a pit stop, hard rock or hooters might have a short enough line to make it

It seems like I should focus on the Bellagio with the WPT there through 12/10. Any reason to go anywhere else?

Are all places in LV with 1/2 or 1/3 fairly similar? Or any recommendations for best place to play?

Update: it was a horrible option and we didn't do it. The book sucks overall, and the "VIP" is simply a reserved table up in the restaurant, i.e., no comfy chairs. We paid the $125 pp (with three drink tickets each) for Caesars. Worth it.

FYI I was near the front of the plane. Deboarded quickly and ran to the cab line, which was short. Dropped off at MGM. Took my light suitcase and ran through the casino to the book. Got there with 10 minutes to spare. So that means from the plane entering the gate at 4:50 to the sports book in 25 minutes.

To be clear, OJ didn't actually say 'I have a bet to make' in the commercial.
LOL at me for being old enough to remember b&w commercials.
