I've eaten at tao before as well. it's not horrible, it's definitely edible, it's just insanely overpriced.

The Shadow Bar and the lounge next to it in Caesar's isn't bad. I've not been there in a long time though. Not even sure if it's there anymore.

If you want to go off-strip head to Red Rock. They have a great nightclub in there populated almost entirely by locals.

They closed it, and LOL at sending someone 12 miles west to find a club in Vegas. That's a $40+ cab ride each way.

Anyone know if locals can get in to the red rock pool for free easily?

I heard Tao has the highest sales of any restaurant in the world.

Never tried it though, and they might be cheating the math by including the nightclub, unsure.

MGM has tons of restaurants. TI has a couple oriental food places, one casual, one semi-fancy.

i mean, it's vegas. even though the food at tao is mediocre, the place is beautiful, and when you come back from vacation you aren't going to tell everyone about the average kung pao chicken you ate at tao, you are going to tell them about the gigantic buddha and insane decorations of the place and how it's where all of the celebs go clubbing when they are in vegas.

i'm sure it's club reputation boosts the sales of the restaurant.

also, after eating PF chang's a few more times, i am convinced that they use better ingredients in their food than the average cheap chinese place. i agree that the food is mundane (like at tao!) but nobody will ever convince me that rice n noodle on rainbow uses the same quality chicken as pf changs.

gonna try pei wei today, though. i just like using roadrunner. why can't all chinese places have internet ordering? it will be that way soon. and i will be so happy.

KingBB has some dodgy plan for exactly that, it's in one of the threads around here. Just please don't bring every kid in your neighborhood like all the other locals who sneak in there seem to do.

Hey guys, I am new to this thread, and I am wondering any advice on any comps I could get rolling to Vegas with about $5,000 that I want to play poker with.

I am just looking to stay for a few nights, and grind some $5/10, are there any casinos on the strip that would comp me a room for a couple nights? I haven't been to Vegas to play poker yet, so I don't really know how this type of stuff works...so any/all info on how/who to get the best comps from, would be greatly appreciated!

poker doesnt get you room comps.

You might be able to get a sandwich comped playing poker, but thats about it. You will need to play table games or slots to get room comps.

I've never done it, but apparently you can contact the poker room you want to play in, and they will give you a discounted hotel room if you play X number of hours per day. This is perhaps as good as it gets for comp-like perks.

Where can I get the best deal on Cirque de Soleil tickets in June? And should I buy the tickets asap or wait till I get there?

this has probably been asked over and over, but:

where can I find a list of all the poker rooms and what stakes they offer, what the max buyins are, etc? specifically I'm looking for 1-2, 1-3, and 2-5NL. I know most rooms offer 1-2 or 1-3, but some have ridiculous max's like $1k. I'm looking for games with 2-500 max buys. Also, I heard there's some 0.50/1 out there....where?

edit: I found the list of all the card rooms/limits....does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the $0.50/$1 game at MGM? I notice it's only a 50bb max....does this mean it's usually just an allin pre gong show?

i'm unashamed to say that a top 3 lifetime meal I've had was at Tao

that wagyu beef with the butter sauce and onion straws on top was out of this world. and the atmosphere only helped, obv.
