I've been to Vegas three times in the last year, two pre-vaccine and one post. The great thing about it IMO is that you can always find a different...whatever...if the current one makes you uncomfortable. Restaurant seating feels too close together - walk out. Blackjack table - for whatever reason - doesnt work for you, find another one.
Not to be direct and all but at some point life has to go on. I got both my shots as soon as I could get them. If there is a booster shot, I will get that too. I get a flu shot every year. But I also want to go about living my life.
Otherwise, playing it forward, what is the end game for folks who disagree? Are you waiting for a 0% infection rate? Do we go back inside every time there is a rise in rates? Because *neither* of those things are realistic. More variants are sure to come. What happens when the Echo variant rolls around? Or Foxtrot? Back inside again?
Before this, we called the flu every year "strains" and not "variants" - sounds less dangerous maybe. Heck some years they would tell you that with this years "strain" the flu shot wouldnt even work - and I got it anyway.
Depending on which data source you believe, somewhere between 97% and 99% of new hospitalizations are from unvaccinated people. Which means the vaccine is doing its job. Its not meant to 100% prevent you from getting it, thats not how it works. Its meant to lessen the symptoms if you do and/or hopefully eliminate the need for hospitalization. Which it seems to be doing.

I agree with this as well. I think I have updated/improved how I have approached this a few different times in the last 18 months - I would hope most people would do the same.
