Made it back home safe and sound. Great trip but it was too long. 5 days hiking around Arizona followed by 5 days in Vegas was the longest vacation I have taken in years. Then again every second of it was fun and enjoyable. Hiking around all of those scenic sights in Arizona was great and Vegas always delivers.
Despite not doing well financially in Vegas I also didn't get killed. Dumped 900 in tourneys, made about 200 in cash and about 200 in gambling. While the goal is always to win losing 500 is really nothing. I love the tournaments and realize they are high variance. Over the years I am very much net positive on daily tournament play. Not cashing in the 3 I played this trip is expected. I just never got that key double up when I needed it. Not to complain but I was pretty card dead the whole trip. I had a decent run in the Venetian tourney and I had a lot a decent all ins when no one would bite. When I finally busted it was from a limp in the big blind with 2 callers. I had KT of diamonds. 2 diamonds flopped, I shoved (was called) and no more diamonds came. I'd do it again
Never really got much going in cash games. Had a couple of good sessions but it was mostly just treading water. Somehow I did okay playing extremely gimpy baccarat and bubble craps. These are decent time wasters.
I ate a lot of good food (too much!) but can now go back to a healthier eating regimine. It is really hard to eat Healthy on vacation, but then again who wants too?
Vegas seemed busy and slow at the same time? The Venetian had a HUGE convention going on so these name tag dudes where everywhere but they didn't seem to spend a lot of time in the casino or swimming pool as they were emptyish for the most part. I'm am super glad I don't drink coffee. Every time I walked past any coffee place between 6am and 11am the line was ridiculous. I hate standing in line more than just about anything.
Weather was great. Mid 80's to low 90's in the afternoon but it will probably get hotter every day for the next few months. I had a great time but I am guessing we will start seeing some trip reports from real poker players now that WSOP is gonna be starting. Good luck to all you baller poker players in the coming weeks! It will be too hot for me both outside and at the tables
Thanks for following my mediocre adventures
