$%^%#K! Playing so solid lately but had some weakness exposed last night...played a little more hours and later into the a.m. than usual and was put into a super uncomfortable spot. Please check it out and offer insight if you can! thx

I put fold in the other thread, but I never play sober anymore, so drunk me is snapping that off and losing $600+

Just landed in Vegas and already used the $20 trick for a room upgrade. Also rented an Infiniti SUV for the week and we are headed down to Freemont tonight. Any "must sees\can't miss" at Freemont?

lol dunno I dont get down to Freemont often...when I do I pretty much just like people watching, sooo much drinking going on down there ...I think there are (or were?) some pretty cool video game/arcade type bars...one where you could have like an oldschool N64/Playstation ect bought to your table with bottle service and whatnot...could be really fun with a group. There are also some funny things like fried Twinkies/snickers bars you can get at some spots on Freemont. As for poker the GN game 'can' get fun but more often is too much old nits.

Here found it...http://www.yelp.com/biz/insert-coins-las-vegas

Insert Coins is cool, definitely bar hop and I haven't been yet but check out the container park. The Gold Spike is also pretty cool and you can pick up girls there.

All the bars on East Fremont (other side of LVBlvd) are pretty solid. Try them out, all have different vibes.

So freemont was the normal freaks, light shows, loud music and drunken outta towners as usual. Nothing too exciting..

We did however find an absolute diamond in the rough though in a restaurant down there called Carson Kitchen which is about a block away from the freemont experience. I consider myself a foodie and I honestly have to say that this place was one of the best places I've ever been to. You've got to check it out. We had 12 of us in our group and ordered almost 1 of everything on the menu and repeated a few items. Some of my absolute favorites were fried chicken skins with a smoked honey dip, short rib sliders with root beer glaze and spicy tater tots, gyro tacos, veal meatballs with a foie gras cream, bacon jam, deviled eggs, wellington empanadas, donut bread pudding for desert and cucomber soda to wash it all down.

Once again bro that's Carson Kitchen 124 South 6th St suite 100, and it's a must..... Enjoy and let me know what you think after you try it.

Yeah, this place is getting a lot of good reviews. It is one of the Kerry Simon restaurants.

Sounds like my kind of place, I will definitely check it out.

Got a tad sloppy last night and took some unnecessary lines against the wrong Vs...down -$395. I need to go back to basics tonight and just put in a solid performance to turn things back forward, or at least play super solid results aside.

I'll recap after the weekend. On a positive note I'm pretty set up now to comfortably cruise into the 100 hours mark for the Ballys promo by the deadline so should have 3 fun mtts at the end of the month.

Well, after playing 5 days of solid poker in a row I made those errors last night for the $-395, so the goal tonight was to hopefully have at least a marginal winning session but more importantly to feel like I played at the standard of the 5 days prior to the bad session regardless of results. I also went somewhere other than Ballys, I find that sometimes a place will get a tad stagnant and I've been chasing those promo hours so I think I needed to go elsewhere to refocus. Fortunately the choice to change venues and play my A game payed off and I made back the loss and some change. It's always nice to regroup/rebound immediately after a setback. I'll try and briefly recap the weekend tomorrow or Tuesday. After tomorrow will be the first time I have played 8 days live in a row in over a year and still super motivated. All the same I'll be taking Tuesday off to max out gym, see a movie, diner out, bowling...those sorts of things...want to stay a step ahead of potential temporary burnout with some preemptive downtime.

Nice work on hitting the hours. Seems to me it's a mistake to not seek out the promos that are out there when you are grinding so many hours! Kudos and gl in the MTTs!

Finding the rooms that have the freerolls for hours played along with the rooms that actually pay cash for hours played is a key part to game selecting in Vegas! Everyone (and their bankroll) loves Rakeback!

yeah It's also just definitely a +EV motivational tool to get me to put in the volume b/c I love mtts but can never seem to justify to myself the buying in part lol

What are the 3 tournaments at the end of the month you speak of? Just recently started grinding live poker again since i quit my job and am curious. Cashed the flamingo and harrahs freerolls yesterday for 650 total, ballin lol. No but im in the same boat as you, cash player but like to dabble in the free tourneys if im putting in the hours anyway.

Off the top of my head, Excalibur has a small one and all the Stations Casinos have a big one.

here's the deal on that...they are running a small 'series' of guaranteed prizepool mtts at the end of the month, you can buy in for something like $125, $125, and $250 respectively, or can earn the buy-ins in tiers at 40 hours, 60 hours, and 100 hours

Still crushing the games, will do full update/pics after dinner+movie tonight

The Orleans is also a very good promo room as far as jackpots go. High hands, Royal flush bonuses (and steel wheel for Omaha players), and very big BBJs.

Side note/hint: the qualifier for Hold Em jackpots goes way down once it exceeds $75k in the pool. (Under $75k, it has to be flopped to be hit, over $75k the turn and river are allowed to create the final bad beat).

When you see it above that mark, that's the best time to play there, as the room gets very juicy and busy!

Also should point out it is worth following all the major rooms/casinos on twitter or stay in tuned with them however you can (physically checking out the rooms on various days), as they will throw out rake reduction promos randomly for specific games or for an entire month in all games. One example is The Orleans ran a $3 max rake for the entire month of May this year.

Bottom line dollars back in the players pockets! It pays to be in the know!

OK back from dinner/movie, everything has sort of ran together over the last 1-2 weeks as I've adjusted to new schedule. I put in a solid 8 day grind with good results and had a nice night off tonight. I had one temporary setback on Saturday where I should have lost only around -$200 but failed to adjust to changing conditions and ended up down -$395. Not exactly sure where I left off so I'm just going to unload all the pics on here w/brief captions and let that do the talking for now since I feel like getting some extra sleep tonight. Call me Twisty's because I got a lot of nice chip/food pron for yas.

I think we left off on Friday night...at the point in picture was sitting on $800 ish but gave a chunk of that back before cashing out in for $300, out for $567

Saturday started off solid, in the pic just stacked Paul Magriel (aka 'quackquack') which if you've played with him around town you'll know he's a tight nit of a spot that's tough to squeeze value out of so that's a nice feat in itself. Unfortunately I ran poorly and proceeded to play subpar while failing to adjust to changing table conditions and all these nice chips in pic went byebye...in for $700 out for $405 (-$395)

What do we do when we fall down? lol...pick that #$^$ up, changed venues over to the Excalibur for a big rebound Sunday, in for $300, out for $775

Back to Ballys Monday to keep the ball rolling...this was actually only a 3 hour session so I considered pushing it for the 600bb part of the Aug photo challenge...unfortunately the game broke as you can see in pic. In for $300 out for $947

guy in Mon game was a college bball coach who had coached some Canadian team championship and was sporting the bling ring lol

the gf started sexting pics to try and get me to bail early on Mon night (NO most definitely not forum friendly lol) ...naturally I declined, just sent back this gem from the bathroom stall

Its been an 8 day grind so I took Tuesday off, did the little tasting menu at Nobu and was pleased with the food (with one exception you'll see)

Nobu, the empty table in pic was a brief anomaly between parties, the place stayed slammed the whole time we were there. I was pleased with the efficiency of the service given the fast pace of things.

Edamame w/seasalt...good clean start

The Yellowtail Sashimi, delicious albeit a little light on the portioning

California roll w/tuna,salmon (I don't even usually like raw salmon but this was great) and whitefish (sorry forgot the type) Nigiri

Everything great to this point when they bring out the $%#% #%^#$ garbage...some rockshrimp salad...horribly constructed dish, the sauce tastes like it was made from Cheetos powder or some such @#%$. It's only worse on the salad than on the shrimp. I was so disappointed with how everything had been so good then this somehow had made the cut for the tasting menu. Can you tell I didn't care for it? haha This could have been nice as just like a ginger soy shrimp salad with some mandarin oranges or something, maybe some pickled ginger/radish

Was still steaming from the last dish and worrying I would not be satisfyingly full by the end of this when one of the best parts showed up. It's a perfectly cooked slab of Black Cod with a sweet demiglaze on it...very heavy and just so decadent (in a good way) The skin is also delicious and tastes almost like Unagi with the glaze bringing out the fats.

They kept the nice rebound going with the dessert; a nice concentrated green tea Ice cream, a very good chocolate lava sort of cake w/berries, and my favorite (in the mug) a sort of Cappuccino cake with a frothed ice cream on top.

After that just shot back to Town Square to catch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes...really not a bad movie.

Saw this Raptor and wanted a pic, guess I'm a sucker as a previous F150 owner...may have been totally rolled and destroyed while I was driving it but I didn't have a scratch on me afterwards so that's worth considering

After seeing your awesome bathroom selfie, I think I played with you /very/ briefly on Sunday morning around 4am at Bally's.

Was sitting to your left. I just got back from a gentleman's club. Donked off about $100 super aggro before deciding it was time to pack it in. (Last poker of a 3 day trip.)

No real hands of note. I did call a guy down with 34 for two pair, to beat his single pair of 3s on a flushy board with lots of over cards.

Black glasses, button down shirt and black slacks.

Oh yeah. You had jammed over one of my pre-flop raises. You claimed AQ, I claimed low pockets after I folded.

More experiments tonight. Played all hands blind after pretending to look until/unless conflicting action in which case I would look. Obviously folded most (maybe some AA KK???) but opened some from position and 3 bet some spots pre. Went on like this for 3.5 hours then game broke. I DO NOT ENDORSE THESE SHENANIGANS!

ya +162.5 bbs. definitely will not be repeating tonight, my spider senses are saying It would be unlikely for me to win another session or two now given this hot streak...nonetheless I will be heading in tonight fully confident and guardedly optimistic about pushing the winning streak through the weekend but it's not a matter of when I suffer another loss/setback but how little I can curtail it to. (I generally play a super solid low variance TAG style but have been Slagging it up big time lately, the swingyness of the results make me nervous)
