An Intriguing New Years Eve

So I had originally planned to just go to GVR or Redrock for NYE and not make much of it, however my gf informed me that she got some kind of tix to Ghost Bar at the Palms where we could watch the fireworks so we headed out at hit that up, traffic was pretty bad. I decided to see if there was a room available sort of thinking there wouldn't be but if there was I was going to allow myself to just get massively inebriated. Guess I lucked out there was a room at Palms Place, the catch is it was like $400 hnnnnng...still I hadn't been out much lately so bit the bullet and took it.

We went up to the Ghost Bar which was really cool, gf had got tix but I think they were still selling some at the door for like a hundo or something and they had open bar tix for $175 so thought about seeing about an upgrade but it wasn't a truly open bar deal just some select crap. I asked not very seriously about the cost of a table and bottle service, don't recall the answer other than it making me puke in my mouth a bit. We met some fun people and drank a fair amount of champagne as well as a few Jager Bombs and some fireball shots. Keep in mind I don't really drink anymore and with the sort of cleanse I've been doing I haven't had alcohol in maybe months. Needless to say I was really hazy when the fireworks started. The view was great and it might be the vantage or the alcohol talking but I really think it was the best fireworks the strip has done by far in the 5-6 years I have been here. When we headed out of there I was for the first time in years actually completely and fully intoxicated having to do the the lean-to on the gf. I completely forgot about having just dropped $400 on a room, whipped the last $300 I had on me out of my pocket, remembered the poker room closed a long time ago, and said "fk it were playing craps!"...another thing I haven't done in years other than a bit if family/friends in town.

I squeeze into a space beside some Asian dude and his wife but see that this table says $25 min (too baller for me!) When I do play it's 3$ or 5$ so my $300 is looking pretty paltry. I thought I saw one guy betting less, assuming he was there before they up'd limit or something? Fairly young Asian guy beside me (he introduced himself, but will need anonymity for reasons yet to be revealed) is playing $3500 or so and says he just started but is down about $1500. Runs a bit neutral for a bit, me and the Asian guy having more drinks and laughing. I'm betting minimum on pass and only taking x1 odds and virtually nothing else since I have such little $. We decide to let the ladies roll after a bit and they both proceed to go on epically sick runs. I'm still betting like a pussy but Asian guy is going pretty degen. My gf hits the 8 which he's pressing every turn like 7 or 8 times in one roll among a ton of other points then his wife rolls and it's only slightly less crazy good. I remember him asking the dealers what hard way was coming and then tossing $100 and some amount for dealers on hard 4 and his wife hitting it soon after. We were doing shots and high fiving...I must admit it was a most pleasant degen.

We kept running hot for what seemed like an hour but was probably more like 15 minutes and when the dust settled I had just over $700 and he (who was betting way more aggressively) colored up something crazy (to me) like 20k+ then says it's strip club time and I guess I agreed as next thing I was bumbling along to a limo that took us to the Hustler Club. He pulls out a little baggie of what was obviously coke in the limo and offers me some which I decline before indulging himself. Also in the limo he lets me in on that he's independently wealthy from family money but has dropped hundreds of thousands gamboling and has been threatened to be cut off so his family actually thinks he's visiting the wife's family in Singapore or something while hes here for NYE doing the degen. He's immensely amused with his apparent deception and brags about the details, I must say he took some impressive measures to cover his ass. I had actually never been to the Hustler Club and it was decent as I recall, I think there were a lot of decent girls there but I was soooo far gone I'm not even sure how low I would stoop. My new Asian friend got us all a bottle of some overpriced champagne or another, I didn't have much of it actually b/c I was feeling a little sickish at that point. He talks to a floor guy and decides he wants to do the skybox or whatever. He and his wife pick two skinny blonde Russian chicks that seem to be working together and don't speak English too well and tells me to pick someone. I don't trust my judgement so let the gf pick and she grabs some thick short Asian chick and we head back to the skybox or they call it something different there I don't recall. I think we drink even more back there and I'm getting a bit spinny at this point. I remember getting danced on, the gf making out with the Asian chick, and the Russian chicks are just all over the place, pretty sure they are as wasted as me but maybe on more than booze, I suspect they got their hands on some of the coke or who knows? I'm pretty much freerolling as my new buddy proceeds to drop what had to be close to or over 5k with all the tips, the room, the girls, the booze? Time ends and I tell him I have to head out though he says he's going to hang around longer. I don't know how the $#%k he does it b/c he's drinking much more than me and he cant weigh more than 160 pounds. Pissed that I didn't get his phone # since I feel like I owe him something...if you read this for some reason pm me haha.

Well while we were back there the gf hit it off with the Asian chick, she was from L.A. and danced by I think Aspen or Rowan or some tree name...anyhow gets pretty interesting. I've been pretty out of it the whole time we were in the back but the gf exchanged numbers with this chick and told her we should hang out some time ect. Were in the cab on the way back to Palms Place and gf is like "yeah I told that chick she should come hang out with us"...I didn't take that for much and was feeling sick so just wanted to get back to the room and crash. Also at this time I reached in my jacket pocket and realized what I thought was my cell phone was really an ipod I've been missing a few weeks. Figured my phone fell out in the club somewhere and was long gone.

We get back to Palms Place and I got in the shower, drank some water and passed out on the bed. About an hour and a half later the gf wakes me up saying she just got a text that the Asian stripper just got to Palms Place in a cab??? She heads down to the floor saying they are going to go drink and I go back to bed. Another 45 min or so and both of them end up back at the room waking me up with drunken chick giggling and the likes...I would be pretty pissed about the whole situation but their both tipsy as hell and I'm starting to get coherent again. Things progress from that point into an all out trifecta of debauchery lol. This is the first time in my life I have just got a random freebie without putting in the tiniest effort in the arrangement of such. Props to the gf who single-handedly pulled a hot stripper with whatever game she used whilst I was trying not to vomit all over myself...she (the stripper) ends up crashing at the room so those 2 get the bed and I'm stuck on the couch which seems a fair deal to me. In the morning we check out and head down to the lobby, I still got $500 bucks crunched up in my pocket so somehow managed to only drop $200 or so at the club as opposed to the other guys 5 grand...also they have my cell phone in lost and found at Palms; I had left it on the drink rail or underneath or whatever at the craps table so the whole night was feeling like a freeroll other then a crazy splitting headache. Grab some food then drop the chick off at the Hampton Inn over on Tropicana/Dean Martin. She and some other girl from Cali are supposed to be here all week to dance in the clubs for New Years and C.E.S. We might hang out before she goes back to Cali or when she's here next which I will of course update shamelessly on thread.

I got home still feeling abysmal and slept for many many hours. Awoke with a ravenous hunger but just about everything was closed so actually ate a Big Mac combo from McDonalds and of course felt pretty gross from that afterwards. Not sure what the moral of the whole story is other than I'm a lightweight and can't party like I used to. Part of me is ready to go back to no drinking BUT in retrospect the night ended up pretty awesome and I have no doubt alcohol facilitated a good deal of that. I guess the thing to take away is that it's always good to find and hang out with some overly friendly whale making $ in Vegas and with the desire/intention to blow it.

11:40 pm. I texted the only chick I knew in Vegas at the time and she says meet us at Pallazo! I made it as far as Ceasers by Midnight for fireworks with the Whiskey Tango crowd. Got To Pallazzo. Chick was gone. Walked a Mile towards Palms Place in cold ass weather til I got a cab to take me there!

Thx, yeah I usually take a ton of pics of everything but not really that night, got some pics in Ghost Bar but came out bad from no flash then didn't want to be one of 50 or so people with their phones out during the fireworks. After that I pretty much was so gone i didn't remember my phone until I realized it was gone; I assume I was going to take pics at the craps table before I lost it. I want to get a good digital SLR to lug around town since I like taking pics so much. No no Asian in the gf that I know of (well maybe the other night...drumroll...cymbal crash...see what I did there?) but lot of people say the same like in this pic:

The wife and I spent NYE at the emergency room (she tore her rotator cuff). We were out of there by about 11pm (arrived around 6, ugh), then spent an hour driving all over town looking for a pharmacy that was open and had the pain meds she'd been prescribed. We walked in the door to our house at the stroke of midnight.
