Do you do any bonus / promo chasing around town? Seems like there are quite a few amazing promos that regularly run. If you do, how much do you feel this contributes to your bottom line? If you don't, why not?

In general, how do you choose which room to play at considering every SSNL game out there is probably very good (even though you have mentioned you sometimes table select)?

I really haven't been up to much since the last update. Lots of things away from the table as I mentioned with the gym and with rounding out some different aspects of my game and even other games/formats away from the felt. Had an awful headache yesterday but feeling better now. I'm not gonna go into specifics on days this time I think. Srry not many pics either.

since last update played at GVR a few times and up just under $200 for those 2 sessions.

finally played some 2-5, I think my only 2-5 this month, at the Aria. Ended up putting in about 4-5 hours and was stuck -$600 at one point but just grinded it out for a +$207 pickup.

Dinner at Pho Saigon late night after 2-5

played 2 sessions at Venetian with moderate + results. I really love playing here I'm just very comfortable and confident in this place for some reason...probably will be home base for December.

Saturday I played that Golden Nugget 50k for $125+10$ add one. The field far surpassed expectations in both number and softness. It got I think over 700 runners and was maybe 85% droolers so epic value given the improved structure...I would play this thing 3 times a day every day of the year and expect insane roi lol. It as also run well given the scale and I am pretty excited about the Golden Grand or w/e series this summer since the new manager specified improved structures and guarantees so I will likely play a ton of those.

Lots showed to crush the guaranteed prizepool something like 700 people?

As for how the tournament went...well with starting stacks of 15k, I quickly dropped a few k when I hero'd this Asian lag chick 2 streets oop w/A high but then she hit a pretty random gutter on river. Doubled up through her not too much later when she made an over sized open from mp (pretty standard for her) and I made a pretty fishy overshove from the BB w/AK expecting to just take it down but she had JJ...K in window, worked out well but crappy play I should have !3 small enough to induce some lighter shoves but I was calling a !4 shove so same result. so about 22k at that point I decide to open up range and push the action...lot's of sticky stations want to pay me but continual rivers hit vs me and the I decide to try and outplay a guy oop, really liked my line but wasn't paying enough attention to stack/size considerations and ended up up losing more than I should have so down to 12k and I have to chip up to 14-15K. Not too long after the break I look down at ppKK UTG+1 with 14K behind blinds at I think 100-200 w/50 ante?...I decide to make an uncharacteristic over size open to I think 1400 because overbets have been getting action at this table anyways so I want to size to gii on flop and/or turn vs any callers. I get one caller, an old luckbox in the SB who calls pretty wide and has flopped some monsters and proceeded to over-act/Hollywood just embarrassingly bad. flop comes 3-5-3 he checks I lead out maybe 2400 and he min raises to 5000 which is screaming something like pp88-JJ so the $ goes in and he triumphantly slams down pp55 faceup...good times lol. Sick because pretty sure he plays this the same with ANY overpair to this flop ah well, we hit the rail. next time.

The super attractive special events coordinator

Got boned on parking b/c the guy asked if I am a hotel guest I said no...had to go park at the dam Plaza. As I'm walking up before the tournament by the way some guy ni a truck pulls up says he's playing the tournament and lot guy says "oh then you can park here" FML. So had to run into Plaza after I busted to validate parking b/c I'm a cheap skate and not paying the $5.

grabbed some pizza at PopUp Pizza, not bad really kinda like a slightly better Sbarro but no 5-50 by any means

Not much else going on...I probably need to stop being so boring and do some fun things but been pouring a ton of time into poker study and winter is pretty slow-ish for me generally speaking. I have been pretty upset with my lack of 2-5 volume since one of the mid-term goals is that complete transition. I'm not sure why I keep playing so much 1-2/1-3 I guess it's just become so easy that I have an immediate attraction to the games and ignore 2-5. I have a plan to fix that though, going to just play w/e I feel like for Dec-Feb, in Feb I have a ton of mtt plans so that month is pretty irrelevant, but in March I'm going cold turkey to 50% 2-5 with no other option, just gonna suck it up and make sure every other session (or w/e combination) 50% 2-5; From there I will go to 75% 2-5 in April and then 100% 2-5 in May. I think this is a time-table I can stick to to make myself arrive at where I need to be by then. Stay tuned for pretty intense mtt schedule and package if anyone wants to invest I will post sometime after this weekend with a link on here. I'm pretty much committing the majority of my time to mtts in Feb and am seriously committed to some serious results.

not a big Camaro fan but this one was rather eye catching

Pretty tough to find value in those that will outweigh game selection but when the 2 combine I'm fine with promos...Like I will likely be playing 20 hours/wk at Ballys this month for the 2 a week free rolls mtts they run...=pretty easy extra $ for me but more importantly the games can be good there at the right time of night. Other than that I will be at the Venetian for December just because I'm very comfortable and enjoy playing there.

Can't wait to see you at the 2/5 tables. Come and get those manies, yo. I'm closing in on my 100hr mark since moving up, and it's treating me fairly well. The regs are super nitty though, don't fall for their BS. There are some good players in the game, and I'm learning not to be a spew monkey. For the most part it's still solid poker that's keeping me ahead. It's like we all just team up on the soft spots and bleed them dry and hope another one comes to take the bait. Table selection is everything.

hey nice thread, I've been lurking this thread and others for a couple of weeks now, actually I saw you playing the HPT @stratosphere couple of weeks back, I think I'm moving to Vegas next year (January) I'd love to meet poker players like you that do well at the tables and have a good approach to game to share some insights/info about it.
good luck and keep it up!

thx, yeah should be fun. I have done several hundred hours at 2-5 since moving here and went a small period 2-3 months playing almost all 2-5 but honestly felt like I ran really bad and barely beat my 1-2 win rate and with much worse variance...I think that's what got me going in the wrong direction to the point that I've only been doing maybe 5-8 or so hours of 2-5 a month for the last I guess 6 months. just got to force my hand a bit then me and you can camp the games.

thxthx hopefully will be some juicer updates in the near future, Dec sucks out here mostly all around...like today so oppressively cloudy and wet outside (ok the wet part is unusual) that I don't even want to go out. Feb should be crazy though.

haha well I'm a talker so will always tell anyone interested evvverything they need to know to crush the game (well llsnl lol) and not get in trouble out here...usually doesn't get through to people though on soft-leak issues which all the skill/strategy in the world wont cover

thx yeah trying to eat super clean for awhile but everyone needs at least a weekly/bi-weekly indulgence. reminds me of a story a guy told at the table the other day...was quite depressing so won't repeat it all but the overall moral was life is short, indulge.

2 more successful sessions at the V now so my temporary residence there is working out well and my little habit for the greasy goodness of Noodle House continues to nag at me. I believe I have finally destroyed my phone beyond redemption in the most recent drop, the very cracked screen actually shed some fragments and the little camera is punched in. I can still get calls and see enough to text though I think but I will likely be getting that Galaxy Note 4 or that Samsung one with the really good camera.

Very nice. What's the reg to nit/tourist ratio? I've heard tough things but whey has been crushing the V so I might saunter over there next time I'm in the southwest.

Wouldn't say crushing at the moment but certainly beating consistently. To describe the typical games at V, I would say you can find better games especially at certain hours elsewhere, however the environment is very comfortable and motivating for some reason. Also, the 'regs' are nothing to fear if you have post flop chops, in fact it can be much more fun and interesting to play a more or less thinking reg b/c they will understand enough concepts to take a lot of atypical lines on them that would not be profitable enough vs the casual 1-2/1-3 player. The other good thing is the spewey and super new donators alike tend to have deeper pockets at the V than some other games...said people can be terribly bad elsewhere but if they aren't buying in deep and rebuying often the value isn't nearly as good.
