Thanks for the update. I really appreciate the insights from a local perspective. Between you and jim_beam I feel like I am getting a great look into a couple of guys who play similar to my style. In fact it inspired me to go play my game, instead of what I perceived it should be. a couple times in October and +1000 for the month.

Just curious how does Jjanga compare to the AYCE sushi places you go to?
thx, yeah always push yourself to progress or your game gets stagnant as mine sort of did a few years and I'm having to dig out of autopilot. couldnt say havent eaten there yet.

Badass thread! Get better soon and stay frosty on the table. Been out to LV twice this year and ran good at
-Venetian - three sessions playing 4/8 O8, mainly old dudes gunning for the low
-Harrah's - baddd players in general and good staff, room is pretty mehh
-Flamingo - lotsa regs but none too good, decent tourist ratio.
- Quad- played the 1/1 late night when I got them spewy feelings to let my inner LAGtard out

Never crossed the street to Bally's but looks juicy from your reports

also figured out that the stage door is a great ( read: cheap ) spot to get hammered with locals.

subbed

I'm not sure there's anything funny about believing in a god that requires supplication to prevent one's death in a fiery auto accident. Perhaps, in your mind, those unfortunate people didn't pray enough to be spared such horrific deaths.

That sure seems much more insensitive than Shast44's reply.

too small, will probably map out a series down the line to run a package for once HPT is over and I've settled back in the cash groove. as for HPT main, even though sold out have no problem selling 1% pieces for sweats if someone were to request.

Haha. The only "gods" that should be relevant on 2+2 are those of the poker variety.

It just tickled me that the commenter seemingly took offense at an offhand remark about the tragic death of two people when his own seemed offensive in its own right.

Carry on. Sorry for the interruption. I'm enjoying your thread. I'll try to return to lurking now, god-willing.

Thx. mostly better just lingering cough. Yeah Ballys and PHO games get goood, if you're looking for 1-2 kinda loose-sloppy and playing late nights you really should check them out.

Great update Cheese. Glad you're feeling better. Seriously, the chip pics crack me up with all the inlays lined up perfectly. That's so nitty!! Lol. I relentlessly 3 bet and check raise chip 'liner uppers' with near impunity. I'm guessing it works for you. Nice score at the South Point, I can never get paid there, ever. It's either full of short stacks or nits every time I go.

I have a stretch of days off coming up starting tomorrow, 8 exactly, maybe we can find a 2/5 game to crush at some point in the next week. Are you gonna play the Orleans Friday night with us? This is mandatory as 'THENUTS' are in my hands right now.

thx, yeah it def comes off nitty as hell i suppose lol...makes them think i have a hand though when i desecrate my perfect stacks (cautiously mind you) to put out a sizable bet. playing it by ear on the 2-5s (looking for good games) since i find things slow(ish) around here nov-dec but we should definitely hit up some games; maybe go venetian 1-2 and 2-5 if it looks good. highly probable i will be playing the orleans with you guys though there is a chance i may be buying in late like an hour in or so.

First Halloween I spent NOT on the strip in several years, so thanks for the update/reminders of one of the best nights to be hanging around Vegas!

GL on the grind in November. I'm unofficially on a five month countdown until I'm headed bck to Vegas for perhaps long term, TBD, so keeping up with your thread is a no brainer to get me in the spirit of the Vegas grind!

Keep up the great sexy chips and sexy chicks work!

mixed feelings about tonight...played 1-2 for a decent number of hours (5.5), super dialed in...made some very unorthodox moves/lines that were super villain and image dependent with almost perfect success so was picking up tons of value in unusual places w/of course nothing; unfortunately i was also losing all the super standard spots i should have won, most notable failing to dodge a flush river in a 400$ pot that played out perfectly (well other than getting rivered when the money was in obviously) so ultimately only netted +$20 for all that time, however feeling really good about the state of my game/play so should see some good results rolling along this month

Flop bet way too big.

On the flop, pot should be around 91 (25*3 +8 +3* 2).

A standard flop bet would be around $55 to $60. In order for betting $100 to be superior size, you would need to get like 1.7 to 1.8 times as many folds and I just don't think you get that here.

I know you wanted to look committed while in actually you aren't but there is really no reason to do so. "I want to look committed" can be paraphrased in to I want villain to believe there is no fold equity. But on this dry flop, there really aren't any villain hands that will consider fold equity on a flop shove.

Your huge flop bet also makes very little sense with regards to how dry the flop is. It possibly removes a lot of nutted hands from your perceived range.

I wish you posted the suits too as you might want a turn shove to be an option with some fold equity should you pick up a turned flush draw to go with your gutshot.

Lastly, betting so big here is kind of bad for balance.

I think the line looks a little FOS. What are we trying to do with that bet? If all we are trying to do is pick up the dead money, then I think it's a bad play given the 3! calling range of most 1/2 villains which is rich in AX hands.

Honestly, it looks like you're repping KK or QQ to me and I'd probably snap that off with any ace. It's the "big bet don't call me" move which really only gets us called by better.

A typical bet looks better, like 3/4 pot, should accomplish the same thing, but on dry boards we have less fold equity so anyone coming along is likely an Ax.

Kind of a crummy spot to 3! 9T, IMO. It's a hand that plays so well multiway, and we already have a multiway situation set up for only 4bb. If we flop well, we can go for a c/r with equity to spare and then maybe happen to pick up the dead money.

Unrelated, since you mentioned you were feeling good about your game..

Isn't it nice when the game gives us moments of clarity, when we are able to see right through our opponents and make expert plays that actually work? I got this to work in two pots with an aggro player today at 2/5. I checked TPGK on two flops in raised pots (he was raising way too much in LP, almost 100% BTN which gives him such an air heavy range) and induced major spew from him both times. He was doing the super angry power muck, which is really almost as good as winning the pot. But when you have such solid reads, as you say you did in the game today, you don't have to get too fancy. Whenever we catch on to frequencies that are way unbalanced we just have to show up and let our opponents value own themselves.

ya this has been me lately just getting dialed in to where i can get away with some odd spots/lines. the exception being the 9-10 (was os btw) hand that i agree with most of your points on...it definitely would have read as "big bet dont call me" to more thinking players which is what i have to conclude on it.
