dont know specifics about the boca raton BUT you might want to check out the Manhattan mid-rise condos right down the road from southpoint and a pretty quick shot up lvb to the strip. nice grounds and facilities, bout $1000 for 1000sqft...might end up there myself although i am a sucker for the GVR/district area.

Any reason you play so many different rooms??? When I go to Vegas, I play a ton of O8 so I stick mainly with Venetian. Obviously table selection is huge but do you see an advantage in playing many rooms?

I dont play 'THAT' many...have rooms that are better for weekdays, weeknights, weekend days, weekend nights, and when I 2-5 obviously different then my reg rooms. There are also rooms that are particularly good during various events/conventions ect...outside of that it can just be good to mix things up to break a downswing or just general monotony.

*for example the Orleans games are particularly good on fri afternoons-night b/c the popularity of the weekly mtt brings out a lot of more casual players who often play some cash also. and the MGM props side are often good when there is a combo of say a big fight and some convention ect.

I see. Where would you say the best 2/5 games are? Venetian? Aria? Like I said, I play mainly Venetian but I think that I may have been missing a ton of EV by avoiding the smaller rooms which are likely full of rec players.

ZOMG YES!! Fiesta has a coinstar??? lolol

The gf is awesome at saving coins and she used to convert them into starbucks gift cards out of coinstar machines, but she has moved on from overpriced coffee to getting SouthWest Airlines gift cards that goes toward our travel funds.

All that being said, I could see how funny it would be for the old guy to dump his folgers coffee can full of said coins into the machine, then take his (less 10% when convert to straight cash) "winnings" straight over to the sports book to place that next life saving bet!

Its funny, but true, that I could lose a buy in or two in a cash game, but if I come home with 3 quarters in my pocket to give to the mrs she is excited to add it to her savings!

If only it were that easy, would just break a few ones omw back

Think I'm still out of commission today, hitting up the Palms Place on Monday to hang out in the spa and eat out probably Sushi then likely hitting the 7pm $125 @Aria followed by some 2-5 there or @Bellagio.

Got up pretty fast when a mid 30's Asian reg I know (his game) pretty well tried to run a big semi bluff on me. I opened in the hijack with 7c7d and he came overtop on button w/both of us sitting on just over $300. Sometimes I would fold here but his !3 is lighter than the average 1-2 player so I made the call (was $26 over my $9 open I think). I checked to him on a Js9s4c flop and he bet $45...I decided to float it planning on donking in most blank turns and turning my hand into a bluff...also was considering repping spades if it came but wasn't sure yet. Turn pairs the J so my plan changes to checking and re-eval...he bets out $90 which in my mind polarizes him to a J or nothing b/c the most likely hand I could have here is Jx and hes repping it +he checks behind with overpairs or 9x...so he could have a J but I think hes weighted more towards draws at this point especially with his known aggression so I call it. My decisions pretty much made on turn that I'm check-calling off most rivers so I do so when a red 3 hits...I show the 7s and he insta mucks and gets up to go, one guy asks what he had he says Qs10s...not sure if that was the case or not; poker players lie. So up about +320$ but the 2 best spots at table leave shortly after so I ask for a table change and get moved to an 'ok' table...noone was paying attention so I just came back in for $300. Played pretty ABC tight and chipped up another +$147.

Been messing around a lot online in the little local NV allowed sites for fun...as it turns out despite my advances in live game discipline my online discipline has eroded pretty badly...took a few legitimately nasty beats early on and steam tilted off the rest of my deposit in the micro stakes haha. Put in a little more and played some SnGs for fun then ran well in a little daily for like $40 bucks to pick up +$600.

As I mentioned earlier the first Food Meetup put on largely by Gobbo Jimmy) went down on Thurs at Chada Thai...I'll post my pics I took but they are really bad from the dim lighting so if you haven't already you should check out the pics Gobbo took in the food thread here:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...46/index3.html The food was incredible and good conversation; take a group up poker players and then refine it further into food lovers and your gonna inevitably get a good crew...I think we had 10 people come which was good.

Didn't play today or yesterday because I got somewhat sidelined through an act of unadulterated stupidity. My gf decided it would be a good idea to put pillow down on the living room floor and try to do frontflips off of this plastic lawnchair...ended in her landing on her back/butt and shaking the floor but thats besides the point; In my overly competitive nature I decided I would step in and show her how its done. I set up on the chair, started a forward rotation and then powered down through the legs...was going to be a thing of beauty BUT...I hear this loud CRRRRACK...dont remember much after that but the front of the plastic chair had snapped off mid jump and I had come down essentially upside down onto my head I think I recall hearing some pops in my neck. This as Thursday afternoon but I wasn't about to miss the food meetup so popped some Advils, iced that @#$t and made it out still able to have a really good time. Unfortunately a persistent headache developed along with my neck getting really stiff and my thinking getting a bit cloudy. Went to a doc who said I pretty much just had a concussion and had sprained my neck...gave me some painkillers and muscle relaxers. Yesterday was pretty bad but today has been significantly better so should be back in action tomorrow. Doc said I had to stay out of the gym/intense physical activity for 5-7 days +try not to overstimulate my brain w/e that means so that sucks.

I've been doing a ton of reading lately on mtt theory/strategy and have decided I'm restructuring my time a little over the next 30 days or so. I find myself wanting to devote more time and energy to mtts obviously with no great expectations but for recreational enjoyment and motivation/experience. I'm going to be cutting down my cash hours to 20-25/wk and then playing 3-4 mtts...will probably kick off with the Aria $125 this Mon then the Orleans on Fri...will toss another 1 or 2 in there somewhere. I'm already pumped up about playing more mtts which is good since my motivation hasn't been as high as I would like on the heals of that last downswing (Sept) and I think it will ultimately bolster my cash game motivation as well.

Here's some pics from the food meet but as I said, should really check out Gobbo's thread on it he got some much better food pron it was too dam dim in there for my phone.

Ok gonna steal one pic from Gobbo's of all of us there...

The next meet is on Wed if anyone wants to check it out have a look at the thread.
At dinner is that Jimmy Fricke on your right? Lol

No kidding, I was like 99% but always hard to tell with someone you've never met. I will take your word on Jimmy as I respect his play and I think he gets trolled way too hard on message boards galore.

On another note; I've just finished reading your entire thread and I've really enjoyed it thus far. A lot of the way you play and things you say (type) lol really resonate with me so it was an insta subscribe.

I look forward to more accounts of Low level debauchery and as always keep running up that bankroll!

What MTT strategy books are you reading?

for quick daileys I am reading Arnold Snyders mtt books...I think some people would disagree with a lot of his views BUT I love how he strays from a lot of the typical theory and focuses on them from a pure game theory perspective that generally endorses...well basically well-planned/situational hyper-agression in these faster structured mtts

for longer structure mtts, re-reading Gus Hansen's 'Every Hand Revealed'...its certainly dated so needs to be taken in context but I just think he has a great poker mind imo and he really lays it out in this book to see some of his thinking process, much which I instantly relate to and other spots where you go ahhh/hmmm that's one way to look at it...

bleh, wanted to update tonight since I'm sitting around so bored but it would be horribly not entertaining seeing as I've scarcely left home since getting sick. Hopefully will have some stuff for tuesday as I hope to get in a mtt and at least one substantial 2-5 session.

*only thing of note is I'm looking scruffy as #$%k so have decided to just go playoffs beard mode until I get a decent cash in a mtt and furthermore not cut my hair until I final table a main(ish) event type tourney (basically any big series/circuit type) ...so this should segue will into a backup plan of going on tour with ZZ Tops

I read Snyder's Poker Tournament Formula 5 years ago when I started playing MTT's. Had great ROI in fast tourneys. Of course my game has developed alot since then but there are a ton of untapped concepts in that book that I continue to use today that help me a great deal.

Couldn't take it anymore last night so snuck out for some pokerz. Been on antibiotics a few days now so shouldn't be contagious or anything +went to slum it at Excalibur so figured you good people would be at more appealing venues. I wanted to go 3 2-5 sessions in a row but I'm still not 100% and have been out of action as well. I had been sleeping a lot during the day so the plan was to come in fresh around 2:30a.m. and take advantage of drunk stragglers. Sort of failed in that the table was shorthanded (7) with only 2 particularly good spots. It slowly filled back up to full so ran upstairs for a doughnut. I was gone maybe 5 minutes I get back and a few peoples stacks are much larger and the 2 good spots had simultaneously self destructed. ..Dam!

Back to 8 and I'm playing very snug TAG, open 1010 UTG and c-bet on a 4-5-7 two diamonds flop into 4 callers, one call probably light then button makes it $45 hes semi-competent LAG so capable of having anything from a small set to a semi-bluff draw but I'm in no mood to play a big pot OOP so fold.

I open AQos for $12 a few hands later, get 2 calls. C-bet light (another $12) on A-Q-8 rainbow hoping to rep weak like a mid pp. One call. Guy looks like he is just itching to take the lead so I check blank turn to him and he fires $35 leaving himself only about $35 behind so he has to call when I put him in. He has KQ and I'm good. I think he played it about as terrible as possible but good for me.

Last hand I play is unfortunately against another shortstack when I have pp44 in mid position and go multiways for $6 into a 4-5-J flop. LAG in EP leads out weak like $10, shorty makes it $30 and I see no reason to get cute as LAG virtually never even has a hand he can call the 30 with so I make it $60 and short stack puts his last $50 in with 2-4 bottom 2. The last decent spot got knocked out a few hands later leaving us 5 handed so I just left in for $250 out for $430 +$180 over 1 hour. Not bad since the room and strip in general was much slower than I expected for that Sunday...gdam Ebola. lol

So I don't usually go into detail about poker hands/sessions but been so inactive that even that little session was somewhat eventful...as I mentioned I cant recall last time I was sick for such a long time so been dying of boredom. Anyhow while it doesn't usually get to me, the cigarette smoke really fked with my congestion even more so probably taking the whole day off to just lay around and eat delivery food with the gf. Will try to get in a good 2-5 session in the next 2 days then will likely update after the 2+2 food meet so I'll hopefully have some content. Everyone dinking these dam mtts has got me itching to get back to the Aria daily as well so well see when I can do that again & also have my eye on maybe one larger mtt maybe a Venetian Deepstack leading right into my shot at the HPT next month. (HPT link if anyone wants a piece or just to sweat for fun) http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...-14th-1477933/
