Ok. So I didn't play much cash this week, however I did play 2 consecutive 2-5 sessions profitably as I mentioned earlier despite losing a nasty $1200+ flop with set under set.
Sunday had a fun time talking cards at the 'poker church' meet over at the coffee house. Always get good conversation on some interesting hands, topics, and general poker theory and it's amazing how much of a full and developed view you can form with multiple inputs other than your own. One guy Steve was talking a lot about a self learning computer program called pokersnowie that had previously been applied to chess and backgammon and was now purportedly unexploitable. He challenged us to take a crack at it so I said I would crush it over a 300 hand sample size, ultimately decided it needed to be more so played out 1100 hands at a disturbing +67 bb/100 hands. Might put in a few thousand more though to see if the exploits I used will stay consistent.
Crushing da' Pokerz Snowie
As I suspected...post crushing, the analyzer tool pretty much concluded I am a horrible player
Went out to Miller's Ale House, a pretty new sports/beer bar and restaurant they opened out by Sunset Station to watch the football games with the gf. Lots of seating as opposed to like a Buffalo Wild Wings where you often have to wait just to be crammed in. Also you can get these massive and quite good nachos that 4 people could easily split for about 12 bucks.

My little cousin (were going to call him 'Jay') has been in town a few days but we had not had a chance to hang out. His flight was leaving Sunday night so I said we would go grab drinks then I would just drop him at airport. We hit up Palomino and for how early it was and on a Sunday the talent was respectable. I'm a sucker for the Palomino b/c it's a nostalgic reminder to the sleazier sort of strip dives I would frequent back in Florida haha. So were having some drinks and pitching dollars on stage having a good time. Being from a conservative family as he is, I thought I would be blowing 'Jays' sensitive mind but he apparently had expanded his horizons in college and had even gotten himself into some respectable debauchery while on his first trip out here. He had his eye on some tan Mediterranean looking girl so sent him to the back with her with a firm prepayed understanding. On that note NEVER tell a girl to take a friend back on your dime without the terms hammered out...happened to me once at a buddies birthday and the chick shows up muchmuch later wanting substantially more than I told her...anyways he had a good time. I myself planned on just waiting at the rail but had a fair amount of cas$ on me thinking I might hit the Bellagio 2-5 and this little Columbian chick (danced by the name 'Carmella' haha...flat as a board but good body and nice Az) came and sat down on me for a bit trying to hustle. Well...not to be easily suckered by the dancers game BUT she was verrrrrry convincing and got me in the back. Won't go into detail b/c things must stay pg-13 but good times were had...additional tips were earned...ect ect.
Oh and per request I did ninja some pics from the club. Don't complain bout bad quality its like spygames trying to do this so did what I could.
Palomino pics...had to edit one to keep things tame in here.
A bunch of us from the poker meet decided Monday night we were doing the 7pm $125 at Aria, we did a last longer and everything. Bacon outlasted us all to equity chop for better than 3rd place with I think it was 5 or 6 players left. Myself? not so good. My table was just like limp+call 5 to 6 handed every time which is great if you hit big BUT if your plan is to use positional aggression in the early stages (points to self) your pretty much S.O.L. I could never get any momentum and peaked at I think 13k chips. I lost 25% of stack in a spot I think I played ok but some would disagree. (see next paragraph)
With 13k behind at blinds 200-400 I am in late position with AKos. A woman who has been veryyy inactive looks like she's going to raise then limps 2ndutg leaving her about 9k+ behind, the big stack who likes to play a ton of hands limps after her and with about 1650 in the pot including the antes I over bet 3k so about 25% of my stack. Folded around to the lady who snap shoves all in. I tank but end up thinking a flip might even be optimistic here...pretty sure with 25% in I can fold here? If I lose I would be pretty dysfunctionally crippled. thoughts???
I took another blow shortly after in a situation I sort of got screwed in. Our table broke and I sat down and was dealt into AK in mp blinds now 300-600. I'm back over 10k and limp KQs from mp...probably not ideal. Flop comes out 6-6-K, checked to me I bet 850, utg calls. Turn is 10 goes check check. River Q and UTG leads out 1500...as it turned out he was BB, the lady who is sitting in SB position was just seated BUT sat down right before me so I hadn't seen and they apparently did not deal her in when she would have been on button so button appeared to be misplaced. If I know he is BB I drop it but since I think hes UTG I pay him off.
I'm finally down to a little over 8k which is horribly short for 300-600 even though the chip average is about 16k but yeah I am certainly looking to get it in good. I look down at AKos on button which is looking golden. 3 limps to button who shoves his shortstack of 4.5k or so into the pot w/A8. I shove OVER my stack from button. Comes around to a late 40s lady who had limped in early position. Keep in mind now we have all been playing this 3 hours. For some inexplicable reason (just can't find a way to justify this...) she says "I'm calling" with about 6.5k+ with NINE TEN OFFSUIT. So we go all in 3 ways, button has A8, I have the AK, and the 9-10 takes it down on a QQ9 flop that doesn't improve. If I win there I am above chip average and even a little bit of room to maneuver. As it were I am left with 1.5-2k which I quickly flip-lose into someones A9 next hand. So that is 2 down and I said I would wager I'll cash most likely in the first 4 of these...pressures on.
2nd time a charm? Not this time.
The nasty K.O. triple up blocker.
And that's all for now folks. Oh but have to post this pic I got a kick out of this...I run into Fiesta to make a quick football bet and see this by the ATM...if you need to use a coinstar at a casino you reallllly need to grab one of those little pamphlets. (I dunno mayyybe they have some of those real nickle machines but I doubt it...I think its far more ominous like homeless beggars coming in and dumping their change cans in...)
