Ive blogged about poker previously on other sites, but have been fairly inactive as of late. I find myself a bit bored lately and thought I would start a little thread on here. I certainly don't want to write a full out style blog, and also will be covering little if any strategy ect...this is basically going to be a collection of happenings here in Vegas photo-driven by an assortment of chip/car/food/and women porn. It will be written more in the style of a trip-report, though Ive lived here for 5 years now so it doesnt exactly qualify as such. I think I can give an interesting perspective on the entertainment/dining/lifestyle here from a locals point of view so I think it will fit in nicely in this forum section.

A very brief 'about me': Im 28 TAG/semi-nit white dude...played online poker as a source of income (and damn good $ for being right out of highschool) since age 18 but became somewhat 'stuck' in Las Vegas after Black Friday hit (long story i may cover later) Anyhow I live here now and play 35-40 hours of 1-2/1-3 and 2-5 nl /wk (about 70%/30%) with the rare $5-10 when I sack up and play it, despite being severely over-rolled for these games other than maybe the $5-$10 (gos with the Black Friday background). Also play the occasional live mtt. I desperately need to start moving up games but have struggled to force myself to transition upward (very risk adverse)

Anyhow, Ill post some pics every week as well as any mentioning any promos/events going on around town that I think would interest anyone. Im also a massive foodie so will post food-reviews of various places across the valley. (on that note Im always up to meet any 2+2ers for food/booze) Also, to offer a little something a bit unique to anyone reading, If anyone has a specific place/pokerroom/show/dining they would like me to do a review/pictures of, I will do my best to oblige. Heres some random Vegas pics to start things off, Ill drop in at the Rio tomorrow night or Thurs and try and get some good pics from WSOP before cash games.

thx lol not sure how the random $50 made it in, i generally despise 50s, i think i asked the cage lady for it because its the old type that i find arousing.

i should have included a random obligatory bills pic without pesky 50s...hey still some old 100s...like i said i always request them at cage

1) numerous adult stories for perhaps later
2) unimpressive, im as risk adverse with big buy ins as i am with higher $, i think a few 3-5ks in WSOPCs and VDS, then a plethora of 1-2ks in assorted daileys around town

4) 'life roll' (which lets be honest incorporates poker roll) of 125k+, most of which was just freed up recently (no not from black friday, just sold the house i bought with previous earnings)
5) never played higher stakes online, just multitabled the balls out of some 6max and later hu $, i feel like still have a lot to learn +a majority of my $ was locked up in the house i mentioned in #4...but the major reason is ive been totally broke several times from tilt/emotional issues in poker that ive finally mastered over the years, the result though being a strong risk adversion

Played a short session of 1-2 at the V tonight, I had it in my mind to go to the Rio but the lack of shufflers semi-tilts me.

In game for $300 but down $40-50, I realize Im playing sub-prime b/c Im hungry, a bad habit I have. Great thing about the V is the decent number of food choices regardless of the time. Hit Noodle Asia and grabbed the Singapore Mei Fen, a fav of mine there. Foods a little greasy and the meat is just 'meh' but it hits the spot if your hungry at night, especially if youve been drinking. I may have also been getting mildly distracted by one of the massage girls who had a pretty fantastic backside...it doesnt really come across in the pic but it was quality high/tight with ideal 'gap'...while I suspect some mild contouring enhancement in the yoga pants it was still an enjoyable view. If I weren't such a cheapskate I would have probably gotten some time on that aspect alone. Naturally I downed about 5 Fiji waters and stuffed another 5 in my backpack, an ever-enduring habit of mine at the V. got back some momentum and cashed out about $650 for a quick profit.

well...averaging just under $25/hr between 1-2/1-2/2-5 (1-2 is 23.75ish over the last several thousand hours, 2-5 is a bit over $27/hr over a significantly smaller sample size, and $5-10 is lol $180+/hr over a very insignificant sample size) and over the last 2 years i have played an average of 37 hours/wk which equates to about $925 before taxes. i have a live in gf/roomie that pays 50% of rent/utilities and also pays the car insurance in exchange for use of the bimmer. the vast majority of my $, far from trust fund numbers, came from 12-16 tabling online 8-10 hours a day for years. i sank all the $ i saved into a house here in vegas shortly before black friday where it was stuck a long time but i recently sold the house and moved back into an apartment. I had some more degen years prior to that where it wouldnt be uncommon to steam/piss off a months revenue in 1-3 days tilting, back then i would have to work other jobs as well. i have been piss broke busto several times to the point of living out of hotels so no, no trust fund. i live with an incessant fear of going broke again regardless of $, which undoubtedly holds me back but also keeps me smart and focused. the car is a 2007, albeit with remarkably low miles from being part of a larger IRS seizure and later auctioned off before i acquired it, it is the one thing i really splurged on with the $ from the home sale, actually very uncharacteristic of me but hey i love cars/driving and am trying to break through my risk-adverse mindset ...hope i answered all your ?s

yeah, i really dont want to write a typical blog thought, mostly just a photo-driven coverage of las vegas events/lifestyle/food/entertainment with a small emphasis on poker...i figure its as good a fit as anything for this forum section

the porn star stories probably justify their own fully engrossed write ups which im sure ill get around to eventually

i personally prefer living off strip, its about 15-20min for me to get down on strip but i enjoy living on the edges of town (out by lake las vegas now) and the drives are part of my pre-zone routine. if i were trying to live on the cheap, furnished, walking distance to cash games...would probably stay in one of the cheap extended stay places on the west side of Tropicana just past the strip. while im all for the working girls, i havent had the need to partake personally...like i said i can be a bit of a cheapskate, only the top shelf units would hold much interest for me, and there's a wide availability of free options throughout this city. the 1-2 games here, with marginal table selection, can be softer than anywhere as we still get plenty of people who just want to get smashed on free drinks and spew $ onto the tables like its craps...the majority of casual players here plop down at llsnl without any real intention of leaving with any of their chips (though they may justify otherwise to themselves mentally)

crazy storm outside now and people cant drive in rain here so i probably wont head out till later, i can hear 5 or so ambulances heading out to various wrecks (im assuming) i love monsoon season here, heard well have particularly heavy rains/storms from a strong 'el nina' in cali this year. i tried to snap some pics of storm just now but they didnt come out for ****...gonna invest in a nice digital camera for better photos sometime this month.

Ended up having an off-strip day today but was still pretty enjoyable/successful.

Was feeling kinda low-energy today, maybe the oppressive overcast, not that I don't appreciate the brief respite from the desert sun. I'm usually pretty serious about weight lifting 5 days a week and doing yoga (in before gaaay) but my recent move across the valley has thrown off my routines and Ive noticed ramifications in my energy levels. Anyhow, I digress...decided I'd just hit the spa at Southpoint for the day. Southpoint is one of three spas in town I like to go to a few times a month to relax. Also used the gym while there which is quite serviceable. The spa at Southpoint has a semi-hidden little off-room I took a pic of. Its a nice quite spot free from the usual old man penises so rampant in the normal men's section. I like to plop out on this chair and sleep a few hours but today was briefly interrupted by some hefty obnoxious Jersey ****s who woke me up to ask "HEY DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME THE SPA CLOSES!?"...I told them 15 minutes, not sure if they bought it but they went away.

After the gym and spa I was feeling so much better I decided to sit in at the South-point 1-2 game for a bit. Was one local black dude running so hot but with so many obvious holes that I knew I could stack him if I waited it out. Got my $300 down to $150, recapped another $150, ended up playing a little over 4 hours and stacked him when i flopped bottom set vs his KQ on a 3-K-7 flop, unfortunately he had bled down to only a little over $200 at that point from $700+ . Cashed out just shy of $600 but only +$130 or so from the add on, feel like I should have been up more, this game was pretty prime to LAG things up, but I was stuck in nit gear trying to camp the one dudes terrible playing. Ah well, wasn't even going to play today so $ is $.

Headed home and grabbed some Roberto's Tacos...little local tip, 99 cent chicken tacos on Wednesdays...overly cheese covered greasy goodness, 2 of them easily satisfy so Wed nights are basically free food nights.

Got home grabbed a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir (not an expensive wine or anything, I just like Pinot Noir and this is a particular favorite) and hit the apartment's hottub with the gf for toptional drunk hottubbing...I apologize to the neighbors for disregarding the 10pm close time and if you saw a random BooBz or 2.

I seriously need to get my ass down to the Rio tomorrow night for some photos ect...

Saw this on the way to SP...I found it Ironic/amusing that the Truck of the Year was being towed, though I obviously realize its probably being moved around for some promotional purpose.

Well today started off with a brief life tilt when some 15-16 yr old chick with a stroller cut me off at Albertson's and jacked my toe pretty good, then gave me some smart ass eye roll like I should have gotten out of the way...ah well, fk her...(someone apparently did). On the bright side oven roast turkey sale @3.90$/pnd which goes good with the 3 for 1$ Tolerra rolls. Saw a sweet 645i in the lot but it was gone when I got back out so couldn't snap a pic; Typical pretentious prick 6-series owner with no consideration for my plans. Heading out to Rio to start some pics/coverage of WSOP as promised, though I feel Ill be getting in too late for much tourney action now? maybe will just cover some cash action ect, Ill be there a lot of the afternoon tomorrow so should get a lot of good tourney stuff/pics then. Heres a pic, say hey if you see me roaming around looking for free $#%t and taking phone pics, Ill also likely be on the cash tables at some point.

Well, I didn't get out out of the apartment until later, got stuck on some dumb missing persons show on T.V. Didn't get down to the Rio until just before 1 a.m. and the exodus of backpack toting dudes and stacked up taxi line made it obvious I was a little late to catch any of that. Went in and roamed around anyways, watched some of the cash game action and snapped a few pics. I think I didn't eat enough/stay hydrated today because my energy was crapping out early again, the 1-2 selection wasn't particularly appetizing and I never play 2-5 if I know I wont be bringing A-game. There were some sick looking PLO games, told myself I would bolster my PLO game this year for this summer but didn't get around to it. In my opinion the skill edge is more neutralized in Omaha and while I think I would still have an edge in these games (as sloppy as they looked) I'm not comfortable enough with my PLO game atm to take on that variance. Ultimately decided not to play, not a big deal since I usually take Thursdays off anyhow; Decided it would be +EV to just go hit the gym, if I was feeling like I was going to underperform I'd rather it be where I wont be losing $.

Sweat this 5-10 nl game a bit, was playing really deep. Not gonna go into detail but this was a big pot ($3k+ I think) when the kid in the hoodie set up some nice sizing to gii on the river, other guy tank called, hoodie shows flush, other guy mucks. Obviously I dont know what the other guy had, but hoodie was very polarized and the board texture didnt leave enough bluff range for hoodies action in my opinion to justify the turn and river calls. Obviously the other guy might have had some longer running info on hoodie to think hes good there, I was only there 10 min or so.

Check out these Degens @the PLO...the whole table was just putting $50 each outfront pre, running the boards out, and then taking turns flipping one card each and seeing who won. In this hand 2 chopped with a str, surprisingly noone held 2 clubs for the flush. I guess its like just edge neutral gamboling but then again...your paying rake. I don't get it but hey, I haven't played a table game/machine in years and I live here.


Walked back to the car and there was an F10 550i right near me, I seldom see other 550s and have actually been wanting to get a juxtaposed shot. So here's the e60 550 vs the f10 550 (the f10 is black)...acknowledging that the black is better looking (I'm going to go satin white on mine later), I really prefer the wider/lower more aggressive stance of the e60, the f10 is nice but looks a little like a beefed up ford fusion to me. Obviously I'm not an impartial judge, just my opinion.
