Part of me wishing I had the $/Stones to make a concerted effort at the 75-150 o8 but the larger more risk adverse part of me says it would end very badly

Unfortunately boring week for me had to deal with bunch of paperwork etc and a research internship interview. Down a little over -$600 in 20-40 o8 which is not much and also lost a marginal (-$32) in 1-2 nlh.

Trying to make some decisions on the mtts and will be somewhat results based (from cash games) but current plan is to grind cash up until around main event then fire a variety of satellites towards it. I have a solid track record in satellites and I do really want to play the main this year, however am not down to pay the $10k and also do not particularly want to sell action. Only exception to that is might fire some satellites to the Venetian main and might play the GN nl main.

I’ll be cramming hours at the V 2-5 this week and next trying to get in hours and I’m still looking for good 5-10 games but have not felt like I’ve seen one I have to jump in enough to overcome my hesitation.

I hope everyone out here is doing well and that some of the good guys going deep.

If you win a satty for 10k and aren't willing to put down the 10k yourself, shouldn't you sell the lammers?

That’s quite a difference though (while on a abc level I understand your point 10k = 10k). By all means I’d like to play the main, just don’t want to put 10k up to do so, that’s appeal of the satties. Also do not need the $ that badly (would be nice but < would rather play). If anything I’d sell like 30-50% w/no mu after getting seat if I really felt hedging it would make me play better or something🤷🏻*♂️.

All that said, sometimes the event specific mtt satellites do not pay in lamers and the seat is non interchangeable unless you have multiples (this is how it was when I satty in few years ago). Firing $1.5-3k on satellites sits easier with me then the intensity of being in one event for 10k especially given my disproportionately good results history in said satellites.

Productive week. Took a break from the o8 after last weeks losses and instead played almost 50 hrs all nlh 1-2 and 1-3 at the Venetian, the Wynn, GVR, Southpoint, and Excalibur. I had planned to play 2-5 but the lower games I was finding were more than adequate and we pad things up with +$2700(ish) this week.

Shoes: at a conservative $8.79, these are pretty much what we’re working with this summer...I am in the market for some running/xtraining shoes though so open to suggestions need light weight flexible and breath and under $80.

Damn nice and good job on the wins.

Long hours last week caught up to me and I came down with nasty sinus/throat/respiratory thing that seems to be rampant in town. Still got in good volume this week but with anticlimactic results of $-117 over like 38 hrs. . Was pretty much static like ranging +/- $75 on sessions with the exception of 2 very large pots I lost to unfortunate statistically improbable rivers. Wa-wa. Feeling meh both from sick and $ so will likely refrain from any mtts still; mtts weird for me where if I don’t commit to the amount of $/volume I’d like to then it’s more agitating than doing none at all. If anything I’ll keep putting in cash game volume see how things close out for me, def gonna be disappointing overall but at least kept my expenses low this summer.


I did check out the new burger place Black Tap at Venetian but was not impressed. Food is good and some interesting flavors +this porter was but the prices not justified. Cost me $30 for a burger fries and beer and there are better burgers for less in this town, also ordered med rare got a generous medium. They had some outrageous looking milkshakes...maybe better off just hitting them up for that particular niche.

Ah, thought that may have been the case.

Uneventful few weeks got in decent volume last week but not much this week and unlikely I’ll have more than 4-5 hrs/day this weekend if that. Up slightly under $800 last week over 36 hrs. Wsop otw out so I’ll recap what I consider the effective ‘summer’ after this weekend with results etc. mulling over some poker directions after but nothing set in stone so will return to the 8-16/15-30 o8 until another plan firmed up. I got through the summer playing NO TOURNAMENTS...good thing/bad thing? Will discuss on Monday. Wasn’t on twitter much bc I generally only use for mtt sweats but been trying to post on instagram @wheydacheese if anyone interested.

Mixed feelings about the summer for sure...living pretty Spartanly, did well enough to pad roll a small bit and I stayed pretty focused w/decent volume given my other obligations+feel I played well. However, in retrospect the lack of fun and glory run mtts/bigger $ game shots maybe not worth it? I’m weighing out having possibly been -$ for summer had I played mtts and taken larger cash game shots and I think it woulda been better life +EV. This may factor into my game plan next summer. Like I mentioned I’ll probably be back at the 8-16/15-30 o8 grind for a few weeks then have some tentative plans that may come together after.

...not a ton else going on other than I’m moving down to the UNLV campus next month where I can work in the research labs w/0 commute and coincidentally makes all the strip games 5 min drive

Naw she’s around, she probly prefers here but my rents gonna be about half what it is now and I need to be by the labs with how many hours I’m in there.
