Was crippled in the first 20 min of Day 2 in a super gross spot most would go busto I think. Fought my way back up well into level 7 before losing a 23k pot 55 < AQ when the Ace spiked the river. Not nearly as upset as I though I might be I guess because I felt I played well and busted in a pretty normal stage and fashion whereas I was far more devastated on bust outs on 2 $500s and a $1500 this summer where it was just a combination of having a more dominant chip position, much stronger edge on entire remaining field, and losing huge pots in situations significantly ahead.

On to the next one which is in this case trying to Day 2 the VDS $1100 tomorrow. Feeling super due for a deep FT finish but I know no ones gonna just hand it to me.

Good luck to everyone still in the ME, it was a fun experience and I think it really will be advantageous to me next year having played it and got the feel for it.

Scored the $5000 VDS seat on one satty bullet today. Excited to have another shot at a big slow premium event. The experience I'm gaining this summer is valuable.

Just finished this whole thread! Awesome stuff, it pretty much has everything I like - poker, copious amounts of Asian food that doesn't fit your macros but can't be resisted, mindset/psychology discussion, fast cars, and big butts.

Thanks to you, I totally wanna head out after I graduate in December. I got a big live poker itch from all this too. I recently switched over to SNGs/MTTs (they were always my true calling) but you make me wanna sit down with some AARP card carriers in 4/8 FLO8 calling down streets drawing to the 3rd nut low.

Haha thx. Overdue for an update but investors asked that I play another $600 satty for $ so did that, won $5000 (just took $ bc have seat already). Omw over to Venetian to battle wizards at Sheldon's lair in this mega pro heavy field.

big update lots of pics coming, finally have the day off so will be working on that this afternoon.

busted the 5k which was disappointing...I felt I could handle the pro heavy field with ease but ultimately got off my game and made some minor mistakes and missed some spots from my confidence not being what it should have. ended up gii good but couldn't fade a 33% river.

still working on update, unfortunately I discovered a free program I can play all my favorite msdos games from the early 90s on so yeah that's where most of my day went. I suck. ...gonna come in swinging to the 200k tomorrow then I'll get back to finishing it.

Faaak! lol. Well I came into the 200k gtd with the well defined intention of ending the day chip leader. Getting soft tables that I would support it, I proceeded to play as fast and aggressively as I possible could wisely do. Few set backs but I was above average when my big shot for the early lead came.

UTG +2 has around 17k'ish...he to 1150 at 150-300 blinds and gets called in about 5 spots so I make the call from the button with 17-20k ish (I was going LAG so swinging around a lot).

Flop comes A9Q 2 hearts, he leads for 1800, gets ones flat from a guy with maybe 25k, I gambolz on the button looking for that big implied score.

Turn comes non heart J. Utg+2 leads again this time for 2500-3k ish, big stack rejames...I shove, back to original raiser who calls...



Hmmm it would be ***** sweet to have K10 in this spot after a lead out and a big stack jam am I right!?


sooo were 3 way all in pot is like 60-65k pretty much good for the current tournament chip lead...the big stack turn jammer flips QhKh for the pair w/gutter and nut flush draw...the third guy to call the all in (guess he had 10kish at that point?) flips As9s which just has to be horrendously behind and/or close to drawing dead.

well we know how the story ends...

So things left off last with the WSOP main event I believe so it's been some time since a decent update

Day 2 of the Main Event was pretty disappointing. I came in with a tad over 30k so had plenty of chips and told myself I needed to chip up but could play composed and not take any real chances...unfortunately the first 2 hands I played in level one cost me most of my stack.

The first hand I bricked an open ended str flush draw w/overs for about -4,000. The second hand a young Asian player opened the button to only 1125 at 250-500 blinds, I had AsQs in the sb so decided I needed to put in a rr here and made it 3,600. He flat and we went check-check on an AcJs9d flop. Turn was a 3 of spades so I lead 2500 and he made it 7500, not thrilled with the spot but my weak turn lead after checking disguises my strength somewhat so I have to make the call and reassess river. It's quite possible I was going to check-fold non spade rivers but the non spade Q hit so I ended up check-calling 9000+ to see him roll JJ for the flopped set. I was left with only 6-7k after that and despite running it back to 15kish several times I went out on 55 < AQ all in pre.

It was a good experience though I'm obviously disappointing at not cashing. I gained a ton of experience in tournaments this summer and feel like I'm going to have a good year and come into next summer with strong momentum. It's funny because I started this thread heading into LAST summer and I was only taking pics of the tournaments ect talking about wanting to play them. While I haven't come as far along as I had hoped yet moving up in cash games I've made great bounds in the tournaments putting up about $50k in cashes and $20k in satellite wins and becoming totally comfortable taking on even the most top level live tournament players.

Something about the VDS $1100s...I've just ran terrible in all of them I've played busting out early despite playing solid. Ended up getting beat up on rivers in the most recent one before gii with open ended str w/flush draw but ran into a set and his quads on turn put the nail in that one. I realllly feel like things are going to level and I'm going to flat out win one of these $1100s within the next year.


I managed to get in 2 last 2-5 sessions at the Rio. One I was up nearly +$2700 before doom-switching hard and ending up I think like +$700. The other was about +$600. Other than those two I'm pretty much a huge nerd because I've been playing a lot of limit O8 whenever I get a chance...I just love that sht. haha





Totally ditched my diet for the summer too. Guess I just let the stress get to me and said fk it. Time to get things back on track though and get back in shape/on point because I really think it makes my game stronger and I'm super hungry to win now. Buuuut this is what I've been up to lately in that department.

Well that's what I've been up to. Back at it in the 200k gtd VDS tom and sat then it's gonna be a lot of $ game action and taking time to get back in mental/physical shape followed by some limited yet exciting mtt plans in August!
