When they do that always request it taken off the bill and stiff!

What's with tips becoming automatic everywhere? I understand a party of 5 or 6 or bigger getting the automatic 15% added because that is industry standard, but party of 2 having 20% added. That seems excessive and just random?!?

I don't stiff a waiter even if service is poor. I leave 10% if he was busy with other tables or 5% if really a rough experience. I think leaving nothing or the insulting loose change should be reserved for extremely out of the way dickheadedness. It would take a lot reaching that level.

Sorry for the rant. Doing a cruise soon and surprised to find that they automatically add the tip to your account before you even get on the ship and experience any of this service. I don't mind tipping for good service but when did it become a default prior to the actual service given?

this. yeah a have weirdly big sessions of this there. often goes a 3-4 chop on low in big pots w/none of them showing up with anything remotely high.

I have *twice* in the past 5 years need to renew a passport last minute and realized it less than a week before my flight. First time it was my passport, and second time it was my wife's. If you call the Congressman for your district they can facilitate a very fast renewal (a few days) where you pay fedex both ways. If you mean a normal expedited renewal through the mail I have no idea but I wanted to post this to try and help.

It can be as fast as one day if you're willing to pay. It's around $400 +the standard $170 to the government here. For one week, it's around $200 + $170 around here.

A low volume week for me but I'm pretty pleased with results. I finally dragged myself back into the Venetian after running not so stellar there last month. Got up pretty fast when a mid 30's Asian reg I know (his game) pretty well tried to run a big semi bluff on me. I opened in the hijack with 7c7d and he came overtop on button w/both of us sitting on just over $300. Sometimes I would fold here but his !3 is lighter than the average 1-2 player so I made the call (was $26 over my $9 open I think). I checked to him on a Js9s4c flop and he bet $45...I decided to float it planning on donking in most blank turns and turning my hand into a bluff...also was considering repping spades if it came but wasn't sure yet. Turn pairs the J so my plan changes to checking and re-eval...he bets out $90 which in my mind polarizes him to a J or nothing b/c the most likely hand I could have here is Jx and hes repping it +he checks behind with overpairs or 9x...so he could have a J but I think hes weighted more towards draws at this point especially with his known aggression so I call it. My decisions pretty much made on turn that I'm check-calling off most rivers so I do so when a red 3 hits...I show the 7s and he insta mucks and gets up to go, one guy asks what he had he says Qs10s...not sure if that was the case or not; poker players lie. So up about +320$ but the 2 best spots at table leave shortly after so I ask for a table change and get moved to an 'ok' table...noone was paying attention so I just came back in for $300. Played pretty ABC tight and chipped up another +$147.

Been messing around a lot online in the little local NV allowed sites for fun...as it turns out despite my advances in live game discipline my online discipline has eroded pretty badly...took a few legitimately nasty beats early on and steam tilted off the rest of my deposit in the micro stakes haha. Put in a little more and played some SnGs for fun then ran well in a little daily for like $40 bucks to pick up +$600.

As I mentioned earlier the first Food Meetup put on largely by Gobbo Jimmy) went down on Thurs at Chada Thai...I'll post my pics I took but they are really bad from the dim lighting so if you haven't already you should check out the pics Gobbo took in the food thread here:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...46/index3.html The food was incredible and good conversation; take a group up poker players and then refine it further into food lovers and your gonna inevitably get a good crew...I think we had 10 people come which was good.

Didn't play today or yesterday because I got somewhat sidelined through an act of unadulterated stupidity. My gf decided it would be a good idea to put pillow down on the living room floor and try to do frontflips off of this plastic lawnchair...ended in her landing on her back/butt and shaking the floor but thats besides the point; In my overly competitive nature I decided I would step in and show her how its done. I set up on the chair, started a forward rotation and then powered down through the legs...was going to be a thing of beauty BUT...I hear this loud CRRRRACK...dont remember much after that but the front of the plastic chair had snapped off mid jump and I had come down essentially upside down onto my head I think I recall hearing some pops in my neck. This as Thursday afternoon but I wasn't about to miss the food meetup so popped some Advils, iced that @#$t and made it out still able to have a really good time. Unfortunately a persistent headache developed along with my neck getting really stiff and my thinking getting a bit cloudy. Went to a doc who said I pretty much just had a concussion and had sprained my neck...gave me some painkillers and muscle relaxers. Yesterday was pretty bad but today has been significantly better so should be back in action tomorrow. Doc said I had to stay out of the gym/intense physical activity for 5-7 days +try not to overstimulate my brain w/e that means so that sucks.

I've been doing a ton of reading lately on mtt theory/strategy and have decided I'm restructuring my time a little over the next 30 days or so. I find myself wanting to devote more time and energy to mtts obviously with no great expectations but for recreational enjoyment and motivation/experience. I'm going to be cutting down my cash hours to 20-25/wk and then playing 3-4 mtts...will probably kick off with the Aria $125 this Mon then the Orleans on Fri...will toss another 1 or 2 in there somewhere. I'm already pumped up about playing more mtts which is good since my motivation hasn't been as high as I would like on the heals of that last downswing (Sept) and I think it will ultimately bolster my cash game motivation as well.

Just found this thread. I like the way you roll. I've been to Vegas about 7 times since June this year. I Met a girl out there. She's gone now, but I keep coming back! I've been grinding tournaments wherever I can. The Aria is my #1 choice. I love the Nightly. I've chopped it up a few times recently.

I'm coming back for the Life is Beautiful festival October 24-26th downtown. We've got a nice crew from Cali coming out to rage. You are welcome to Join us! I'll definitely hit that Golden Nugget uncapped 1-2 game at 3 am after the show lol... We are staying at Palms Place for the weekend, then i got a room at Vdara (city center) for the rest of the week. I'm gonna be grinding hard every day. Welllll first mtt down, $125 7pm @Aria; Haven't been playing many live mtts lately so the main goal was 0 mistakes and I feel I accomplished that so am very pleased despite busting out about 3 hours in. Only one hand that I think I played ideal but need input from more mtt experience so will post in the sub-forum and link to here in tomorrows update +some additional stuff and some pics. Next mtt stop probly the big Orleans Friday 7pm weekly.


***btw I sweat a big 5-10 game after I busted out. I've seen some soft 5-10 @Aria but this was NOT one of them...scary lineup of competent aggro 30'sos playing very deep stacked and lots of meta going on...even when I push up to 5-10 I would avoid this particular table big time but was fun to watch.
