Had previously only seen your posts in the vlog thread, but was under the impression you would be a good guy to grab a beer with.

Interestingly enough, no. As trying makes you happy and you would regret not trying. So essentially it doesn't even matter if you make it or not. What matters is what makes you happy. And in your case that's trying - so who am I to say no to your happiness?
