Based on this thread my wife and I decided to check out the Rat Pack is Back show on Monday. Highly recommend!

Went to Tix4Tonight on Monday morning and picked up 2 GA tix for $92. When we were seated I tipped the usher $5 not expecting any upgrade, I just usually tip something in that situation. As we were sitting down the usher came back over to us and led us down to 2 seats one row from the stage. Nice! The venue is REALLY small to begin with so there aren't any bad seats but it was cool being that close.

My wife is a huge Dean Martin fan and she could not believe how good the guy who played him was. After the show the cast hung around signing autographs and taking pictures. Fun time and definitely a throw back to the early 60's.

I recommend staying at Golden Nugget. It is redone and pretty nice but still captures the old school Vegas kitsch feel.

Also check out Ellis Island which has very cheap and good ribs and steak. Also nice low limit tables to play at.

It’s been said once but Wayne Newton is a MUST! My wife and I (both 40) saw his last January and it was the best show we’ve ever seen in Vegas and we’ve seen a lot. Yes he’s old and he’s had so much bad plastic surgery that he looks like a mannequin but the show is not him singing. Its basically his career in Vegas told by him. If you like old Vegas, old pictures and lots of cool stories, this is the show for you. Not a bad seat in the house but we had front row and it was worth every penny.

For what it’s worth, we will be back the last week of January for my annual trade show and it appears he isn’t going to be doing any shows. I’d watch the calendar to see if that changes. Not sure when y’all are going

I'd like to nominate The Triple George Grill. Mahogany and Leather, with booths. Great menu. Downtown

We're booked for the second weekend of January at Venetian. Thanks all for all the input! It would be cool to grab a drink or meetup for some craps or LLNL with some like minded cool folks!

Have never seen his show, but I did meet him once quite a few years back and spent almost an hour sitting around waiting at Neiman Marcus for something from their tailors for our respective Significant Others.

Very friendly guy, he talked about his career, Las Vegas history, his horses, his peacock, etc. Seemed genuinely nice guy.

Haven't been to his museum on Sunset off Pecos, but I read it was closed. https://www.casadeshenandoah.com/

Are they trying to turn it into a Graceland type place?

I will also recommend the Wayne Newton Show. He looks like a mannequin, His voice is not what it once was, I am 60 and was one of the youngest people in the crowd my night, but NO ENTERTAINER puts more effort into giving it all they got like Wayne did. I saw him the night after I saw Elton John and the show I talk about still is Wayne's. One thing that really adds to his show is its in a small room and the excitement Wayne sends out feeds the crowd which he really works off of. he tells some great stories and after seeing him there is no doubt he is STILL Mr. Las Vegas

Breakfast at The Peppermill on the Strip near the Stratosphere for the sheer Vegasity of it. There's a neon cherry tree inside. The waitresses in the lounge section wear black prom dresses. There is pink neon floor lighting. It is gloriously old school kitsch Vegas. One breakfast for $12 will feed four average people too.

It's not really near the Strat, it's across the street from the old Stardust location, where stuck grinders would stumble over to at 6 am after a long night.

Not to mention that the booths are the same overstuffed sort that a place like the Stardust used for its showrooms.....

In older Las Vegas terms, it is mid-Strip, next to where the Riviera used to be and across from where the Stardust used to be. East side of the street, plenty of parking.
