“Are you going to be staying long sir”, asks the valet.

“Yes, all day. We’re winning a Goliath event.”

And we’ve already made quads in Stud!

First break w/ 17.4 from 15 starting.

First hand back, we raise 4432ss from the small blind and go 3 ways to a flop. A42cc. Bet call. Turn J. Bet call. River 3c. Check, sigh, fold.

Back to starting.

Disaster level of Limit Holdem. Culminated in getting in with an even shorter player with QhJx on Q42hh. He had 66. Turn 3h. River 5.

Got 1 bet left.

Busted first hand after 2nd break. Got all in with A high in Stud on 4th and was ahead, other guy paired his 2 on 6th and we whiffed 15 outs to re-suck out. Fun tournament though, happy to play.

Probably headed over to Aria now.

Didn’t intend this to be a session of bigger-than-I-like PLO, but the NL list is nuts. Biggest stack at the table is only 800 or so, must’ve just opened the game. So in for $500, let’s do this.

AKJT v KQJ8 in on J34. Of course we lose both runs. I’m having so much fun. In for 800.

Got back to even with AQT2sss rivering the nut flush in a 5-way pot. Got paid in one spot too. Very soon after been called from the 1/3 list, which was originally the point of coming here, so enough cardiac poker. Booked a big $18 win.

Life is full of surprises, Mr Kassouf just sat into our 1/3 game. I guess we’re in for a little speechplay...

Aaaaaand, first hand with the speeching. This is gonna get tiresome.

Didn’t get tiresome because he was quickly off to the PLO game he was waiting for.

Shortly thereafter, we pick up KsKc UTG and raise to $15. Two callers. Flop 9c4c3x. Bet $25, one caller. Turn offsuit 4. Bet $70 he calls. River an offsuit 7. I check, he puts me in for $180. I call. He rolls 99.

In for $800 and officially on monkey tilt.

Again, sorry for the slow/lack of updates. I don’t think being grumpy makes for a great TR, and I was certainly grumpy the past couple days.

More importantly, I shouldn’t let myself be this miserable. I’m on vacation all summer playing cards. I’m not raiding the retirement fund for money or playing over my head. I’ve got nothing really to complain about, so I’m just going to make myself stop and enjoy the experience instead and do the accounting whenever I head out.

Yesterday’s session actually went really well, until it didn’t. Game was amazing, one dude was basically calling blind preflop for any amount. Wasn’t aggressive enough in squeezing and making the raises stupidly big, got caught in some multiway pots and ended up a loser on the day. No one to blame but myself.

Put in an hour here at the WSOP before the game got bad (well, less good) and cashed in a $480 profit, and came over to the main stage to watch the FT of the 10k 2-7, cheering for Doyle like everyone else.

Doyle doubled through Rast 8-handed. Shove, call. Pat, draw 1. Couldn’t tell the hands, but Rast seemed to be squeezing live.

Didn’t get any great shots of the final table, these were the best I got...

Went back for another quick WSOP session between FT watching. Ended the day a $260 winner. Favorite hand was against a guy who got sucked out on, stormed off, and came back with more money, obviously tilted. I opened from the HJ to 10 with AQo, or I thought I did, didn’t realize he’d straddled back into the game UTG. Just a call. He popped it to $46. Well then. Weird spot. Decide to just call, but not sure if that’s right. Flop K35r. Check check. Turn is an 8. He bets $80. Why would he ever have checked a real hand on the flop? Maybe KK or QQ? I call. River a 4. Check check. He shows ATs, and we take it down.

Set up in Bellagio today. While I’m sure Gordo is devastated at Doyle’s retirement, he’s mourning by sitting with Gus playing OFC for 1000 a point, so I guess he’ll be fine.

On the list for 1-3 and 9-18, will play whatever comes first.

Just holdem. Though I’d happily play a “normal” mix. No interest in playing crazy games.

Had a pretty great session yesterday. Ran amazing, as you’ll see...2 biggest hands:

Open 63hh on the button over a few limpers to $12. Fellow in seat 7 decides to limp reraise, but he only goes to $25. Four of us to a flop. 754r one heart. One check to him, he continues for $50, one fold, and I decide to flat. The lady on his right decides this is a good time to check raise to $200 (nearly her whole stack), and he snap calls. We of course rip it for $240 total, they both call. Runout 2 hearts, but the board pairs on the river and I’m sure I’m now beat...nope. Scoop a big one.

Several hours later, bunch of limps and the button goes to $13. I have A9dd and decide to pop it to $45 from the S/BB (I’d bought the button). Now things get interesting. UTG flats the $45, our friend from Seat 7 also flats the $45, and the button of course comes along. What the hell did I get myself into? Flop...K99ccx. Well. That was fortuitous. I try to think of what I’d bet with AQ or JJ, and settle on $75. Two folds, and the button does not fold, and does not call. He makes it $210. He’s only got about $175 back, and calling here looks stupidly strong anyway, so I go ahead and rip it in. He doesn’t snap and we know we’re not against KK. Eventually he calls and we’re against AK. Holds.

In for $500, our for just under $1200

Set up back at the Aria today. 2 non-session observations:

1) The Strawberry Julius here is much better than at Bellagio.

2) The 8-game high roller has a cool field, lots of players I recognize.

I also just really like this room. Comfy chairs, WiFi and chargers that work, universally competent dealers, good food options.

In for $400.

I think I’ve played one tournament in the new Wynn room, but next weekend staying there with a group. Dunno how many poker hours there will be, but some anyhow.

Not a vodka person at all, but the price is right, so I’ll try.

It seems like a weird thing to criticize, but the Bellagio tables are too damn close together. Constantly running into ****, people running into you, etc. Also Wynn cocktail waitresses are basically all 10s.

Got myself a GN card in advance of their 8-Game tournament today.

Wandered across the street to Binion’s Cafe for breakfast. I should’ve taken a picture of the omelette. I couldn’t keep a straight face as they delivered it. Ordered it with American cheese. It came with a slice draped over the top, unmelted. Looked .5/5. Tasted 2.5/5. Won’t be back.

Co-sign Wynn. It’s my new happy place.

On your 63hh hand which one disgustedly showed 68?

No one. Very sure Seat 7 was an overpair, probably AA, other lady didn’t show, but it was a friendly enough table I’m sure we would’ve seen 68.
