I know he was thrown out for awhile but I believed he talked his way back in. At least that's what I heard. I saw him at Bally's in the last month.

I know who Steve is. I and a couple poker-playing friends are on friendly terms with him--one guy has even given Steve a ride from the Rio to another casino a couple times. We have never staked him or loaned him money, though...having heard all the stories about him and having watched his play at the tables.

We noticed that we haven't seen him around in recent weeks. Normally he'd pop up in Bally's or PH, but he's been MIA from all his usual haunts. One of my friends even tried calling and texting Steve to no avail. We were all wondering if he'd finally gotten kicked out of all Harrah's/Caesar's properties. Would like to hear the story if anyone has it.

He has never asked me for money. But I have heard him make some disturbing comments about what he has had to do for money. Not sure if his claims were true or if he was just trying to be funny.

How could it be any more disturbing than when he was a lawyer?

I for one would welcome a thread just to discuss him, but it would probably become a cluster**** mess.

there was a pretty big thread about TBC at one time. I think it was in BM.

iiuc, 2p2s official position is no threads and no TBC talking about what hes doing in real time -- the fear being that some ppl might try to take advantage of him.

I knew those Life After People shows weren't 100% accurate when the Las Vegas Strip episode didn't include TBC still wandering around.

In my honest opinion there probably shouldn't be a thread like this. Especially with the direction it's heading. Nothing good can come of it.

There is no shortage of bums and/or people with mental illness in Las Vegas. There are quirky characters in the gambling world that are unintentionally humorous to be around, and then there are those highlighted in this thread. To devote multiple pages to your run of the mill toxic degenerate and compulsive liar who scrapes by due to conning others is a bit excessive IMO.

I don't see a problem with this thread as of right now, but there shouldn't be any pictures posted in the thread. Keep it civil though. That list borders on 'too much.'

Based on my conversations with him, he was a bond trader. Steve is very knowledgeable in regard to options. Spraying off the terms:delta, gamma, vega, and theta like he was looking over positions the morning of. He explained the importance of calibrating time decay "theta" to me.

I don't think Steve was ever an attorney.

Well here it is from TBC himself, if you care to read some of his posts on AVP and the locked thread. He tries to justify it by saying '...I didn't really have a gun, I just told her I did...' and creepy crap like that. Dealers and the floor persons that were present confirmed the jerk-off episodes, from more than one property.

Vegas does have it's share of degens and Backpack Steve is just one of them. Don't see much harm in looking at them the same as you would examine an abnormal growth on your cat's butt.

These people are where they are for a reason, and those reasons are not good. They have serious mental health issues that keep them from being a productive member of society. What is so amazing is the fact that they have adapted and are able to survive in a difficult world, but who knows for how long before the rubber band snaps.

Also, in terms of TBC's various antics --

there was another autistic guy who was mainly a (bad) internet player who had an ongoing thread years ago. If memory serves, it ended badly (or at least middled badly, i have no idea what became of him)

Bobo fet (i think) had a really really good post in that thread (which im pretty sure was a repost of an email about the subject he recieved from an expert in the field) about how autistic people process and sometimes misprocess the complexities of every day interactions, and come up with an "appropriate response" to some situations that leave most people with jaws agape.

None of this excuses really any of TBC's well known foibles/flaws/unacceptable actions(and the biggest, the fact that he has a kid somewhere who he basically left with relatives to come do the vegas thing, hasn't even been mentioned itt).... but it does give more insight and a fairer interpretation than "hes just creepy." or "he's a trainwreck"
