So much for higher room rates to reduce the lowlife level. Wynn just sent me an email with room rates as low as $90.

There's going to be a lot less riff-raff and people period in Vegas. The extra $600/week for unemployment assistance is done and rent deferment programs are over most places in the country. Most of the people who were being wreckless with that extra help no longer have the extra money for a cheap vacation.

Crime has a correlation to a poor economy and hardship. Crime will be going up, not down. The strip is a temping target for opportunistic locals who are desperate.

Wasn’t most of the riffraff people on vacation from CA and not locals. Local riffraff seems to be found at places like the Silver Nugget.

Same here. It also includes a $100 resort credit for a minimum 2-night stay. Still not enough to get me to gamble with my health by flying cross-country and staying in a hotel during an escalating pandemic.

I have Bogo nightly offers for the Wynn.

I had to block Wynn from emailing me because they send me offers for cheap rooms daily despite unsubscribing from their mailing list. I think they thought they could crank up prices by this time of the year but it wasn't feasible.

If we get another "stimulus" check you can bet there will be a new wave of trash descending on Vegas.....probably this won't get better until people start getting vaccinated and they can raise prices for real.

Since this is the Wynn, you could get a free stack of pancakes using your resort credit.

I was able to get into Cosmo Saturday night without a players card and without being checked. No metal detectors and security guards at the entrances checking people.

Guess they stopped with the security measures.

I think Networkinvegas, whose twitter posts on Covid and Las Vegas get referenced in this thread, should be a VERY proud boy today.

The troll is actively spreading misinformation about a hospital facility in Reno being a "fake hospital"

Not surprisingly, the President and Troll In Chief in DC, picked up on the allegation:

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/12...ital-in-nevada

"His photograph was then used by the account @Networkinvegas to erroneously claim that it showed a “fake hospital” that had “never seen a single patient.”

On Tuesday, President Trump brought that falsehood to a wider audience, retweeting the @Networkinvegas post with the comment: “Fake election results in Nevada, also!” Twitter flagged the president’s tweet, noting that the claim about election fraud was “disputed.”"

Thanks for posting this. He’s doubling down and it’s hilarious. Hopefully it’ll be his downfall, he’s a scum bag clown.

It seems appropriate as that guys Twitter is one of the main sources of making an argument that Vegas has become dangerous.

I do check his Twitter out for videos of recent violence happening on the Strip. But I wish he would tone it down with the complaining about Sisolak. He has some interesting footage of Vegas and some really annoying stuff about politics.

I also wonder how violence rates on the Strip compare to off-strip locals casinos. Just as an anecdotal data point, I've gone to Vegas pretty regularly (4-6X a year) for the better part of the past decade, but I've stayed almost exclusively at Boyd/Stations locals casinos (e.g. Sam's Town, Boulder Station, etc.)

In that time, I've literally not seen a single fight, much less a full on brawl. Hell, I can count on one hand the number of times I've even seen security escorting anyone out. You would think the locals casinos would attract more the rough methhead sort of crowd, but I've never had any issues or ever felt like I was in danger or was in some sort of chaotic situation.
Well same with where I live until after it became covid Hotspot. Then weirdo cra,Ed people started walking down the street in broad daylight with shotguns just shooting at anyone around for no reason. Supposedly there's another symptom of covid which is insanity. I dunno. Maybe that's the same type of thing that happened. Covid mania.

Seems inappropriate as it's off topic. If that guy were to get married would it be appropriate to post his wedding pics in the Las Vegas violence thread? After all, his tweets were posted in here.

The argument was this his videos of strip violence wasn’t representative of what’s really happening and that he’s biased. The information about his false claims on hospitals in Reno supports this bias.

You cracked the case. The surge in violence is just a conspiracy theory since some of the footage that got posted came from a person that has a bias. Everyone is in on it: the LV police, the newspapers, people on forums, etc.

Let's assume not bc I don't even remember making the post you're referencing, and I would generally not directly insult anyone on 2+2 unless they were really asking for it.
