Must be a full time gig deleting all the comments trooper doesnt like off youtube
One type of comment I rarely see on there is people aren’t pushing him to play 2/5 anymore. If several people made those comments again, even his own fans would give them a thumbs up if it doesn’t look like it’s from a hater.
Trooper actually seemed energized to play poker when he was playing 2/5 NL. And I know the feeling; 1/2 NL can be soul crushing whether you are winning or losing.
Trooper's change to the poker vlogging game should provide new opportunities for other Vloggers as well. No reason for Neeme to be scared. He should be thanking the Trooper.
this is a win for him, if fans go to Westgate they can directly donate at the table. He should get a mastercard/Visa processor to sit next to his camera at the table.
If Trooper is hosting this game regularly, shouldn't the casino be giving him a salary? I know Limon got paid a salary to host the PLO game at The Bike. I don't see why Trooper should be any different. Congrats to him I think it's a great idea.
It seems like the Jamie Gold poker room lasted like a month. Then he ended up opening up a poker room on a crappy cruise ship. Trooper has quite a strong fanbase of 1/2 players though I think.
Trooper saying he is hoping his Vlog will now open up business opportunities...
He has spent the last 2 years telling everyone who wants to help him to F/Off. Declining invitations to Vloggers game, Not networking with other Vloggers etc.
Wonder why the sudden change of heart? Imagine where he would be now if he acted like this 2 years go when he was King of the Vloggers
Not sure there has been much of a change of heart. He's still doing this by himself...his way. I am curious as to how Mr. Dorson fits into all this though (haven't been watching his vlogs recently).
What is with Trooper saying its Free parking at Westgate? I haven't been there since they started charging but I heard they charge. Is it validated with poker or something?
Granted that there is no copyright on ideas and themes for vlogs, it's still interesting to point out how Trooper is reactive in life to what others do versus being proactive and actually doing things originally himself.
Trooper copying Neeme is a perfect example.
Neeme starts traveling to Chicagoland area, California, and Detroit to play in different poker rooms on his vlog.
Trooper sees this gets views so he does a roadtrip across America.
Neeme starts selling his own hats and t-shirts.
Trooper sees this makes money so he starts making his own hats and t-shirts.
Neeme starts playing in live streamed games such as the vloggers game and Bellagio live stream game as well.
Trooper sees this and decides to go on LATB.
Neeme starts hosting poker games on the strip with his fans.
Trooper sees this and starts hosting his own games at the Westgate.
In addition to pretty much following in Neeme's footsteps like a little brother, Trooper always bigs up these ideas for weeks. Neeme just does these things.
Neeme has 72K subs and gets 75K to 100K views per video.
Trooper has just under 30K subs and gets 10K views per video.
While Trooper was the first to start doing poker vlogging (and deserves credit for this), he has been surpassed by Neeme pretty quickly. At least Trooper is smart enough to copy someone successful now to make his life a little better.
The Westgate move is great for Trooper, although it might actually be a (whisper it) "job" in all but name. So, a potentially steady income he's been looking for without actual official employment.
I can see him getting a (relatively) decent return for being essentially a shill/prop player with his own cash. Would he get e.g. extra comps ($10, $20 an hour) ???
I don't think this kind of move would have been attractive to him previously, but there's a synergy with cross-promotion of Trooper/TrooperWare which hopefully gets him increased profile and recognition.
I wonder how Trooper will censor the people playing in his Westgate games like he does with all the comments on YouTube. Will he be allowed to ban anyone who criticizes him?
Also, clearly it would have to be a small room that decides to risk having him host a game but he might run into issues with out-of-towners showing up to an off the strip room like Westgate. Everyone would have to either take the monorail (which isn't really a popular travel option on the strip) or an Uber/Lyft to even get to the game.
Neeme was smarter in hosting his games at places like Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, and the Mirage which was much more accessible to tourists since they were all on the strip.
Also, I wonder what sort of risk the poker room is taking to host these games? Do they put any money in advertising his presence, do they offer anything special, and what do they do if he starts cursing or flipping out at someone who triggers him?
I wonder if any other rooms were considered in him trying to set up this game. It seems that he has bad mouthed pretty much every other room in town in his past videos so Westgate is probably the best bet since it's so new and he's only played there a few times so far. I'm sure he will blow this opportunity pretty quickly though in typical Trooper fashion.
