You really want to get in a gunfight with a junkie at 4am, half asleep, because you were too stubborn to drop 1.5 buy-ins a month on a real place to live? Not only that but the games aren't even that good. Definitely not good enough to risk being shot in the middle of the night while you sleep in a parking lot.
He has a response to everything suggested in his thread and the poker news article, so maybe he's just really into the old road gambler lifestyle? Sleeping in the Prius, revolver in the glove.
Some weeks if there A.aren't that many games going or B. The games I find aren't that good, I'll put In fairly few hours, it really just varies on how many games are running and the quality I find in them. That said overall I'm averaging 31 hours a week since moving here, not really amazing volume or hardcore "grinder" status, but I'm ok with where I'm at currently and looking to increase hours along with stakes in the fall. If a crazy guy smashes in my window in a lit parking garage with security cameras everywhere before I can get to my gun than good on him, honestly it's probably a safer place to reside than a few of my friends who live in really cheap housing in poor areas of town. But in reality the point of the article was simply that I live a happy and healthy lifestyle pursuing my passion, and that's more than a lot of people can say. It's far from normal I know, but it doesn't mean it's bad, a lot of thought and preparation went into this way of living as opposed to just saying "back seat of my car seems OK".
