Exactly. It's ridiculous to spend a lot of money on a nice apartment and do anything with it but put in a small IKEA table and a blow-up mattress.

Gotta respect Trooper for finally giving honest critiques about hands he misplays (we all misplay hands) and for putting in the hours.

He said before that he's not going to force himself to do the 100 hours in 2 weeks because he only wants to play when he's on his A game. The challenge was "100 hours in 2 weeks." If you take out the "2 weeks" part then it becomes "100 hours whenever I get around to it," which is his usual routine and thus not a challenge.

He said he expected to play around 115 hours in his latest video.

Wish he would describe the hands he thinks he played poorly. Did he talk about any hands at all?

They should all really set up a homegame and stream it on their YouTube channels.

If trooper is busto I'm sure he wouldn't mind dealing

Do you post the hands/spots on 2p2?

I'd be interested in looking at some tough spots

I see that football promo as a pretty good added value. Grinding at the MGM ... not sure. I think those are pretty shark infested waters. Very gambly game, so if you can play good TAG, and early on make a full house and a nut flush, ya know ... it might make sense to try and play a really tight game. People want to get those hands on the card stamped and get the $500 so they call really light pre.

Just gotta be a rock, should be profitable. "I can stack you, but you can't stack me."

Witnessed Trooper there tonight. Did not get a chance to say hello. I am a fan, or was. Like everyone else is saying, really like Andrew's work and Cody ... Holly sh*t, if he is doing that himself, without help from a graphic designer, just ... obviously a really, super talented guy.

havent posted hands in a long time on forums. aside from the rare nugget of advice, the prevailing response goes along the lines of "fold preflop" ect...not that those are at all incorrect in some circumstances but im kinda looking for a deeper explanation especially if i outline the table dynamics and what my thought process was in the hand(s). Andrew seems to be doing quite well in the same exact games i want to be targeting soon is the other thing.

ill give it another shot and post up a few problem hands after next 2-5 session though.

It's reads. To be good at live poker, you need to trust your reads. If you are observant and smart, which you clearly are whey, beating 1/2 level games here should not be very hard. I've only been here a week ... and I am a little shocked how good the games are here, all the time, apparently.

So, play 1/2 then. That's where the fish are.

I been playing for 5 years in a place where, really never get very many fish. I know, if I am a BR nit, and I keep my nut low, I can grind here and pay my rent. I haven't even really been running well, and I am averaging $25 an hour, playing a pretty tight, TAG game. You know the drill, mostly folding.

You likely are not rolled properly for 2/5. It's possible, but if life expenses come out of your roll, be very hard to pay your bills and beat 2/5 without a significant roll, imo.

Could be you are leveling yourself? Seeing monsters under the bed?

I undstand that. Sample size, etc., but I was there, played in the games, and saw how other players were playing and was stunned. Where I was playing, lot less people with "disposable" money. everyone knows me.

If I was break even in that environment ... this has been like candyland for me. Couple hands where I lost like $100 chasing a combo draw and didn't get there. I know what running good for me is, and I could be running better.

Trooper eats a greasy double patty melt with a fried egg (which probably cost him $10+) and then complains that the food is slowing him down and putting him in a food coma causing him to lose money ($200 which he shouldn't have lost.)

Since he is walking across to a different casino to eat anyway, why not bring a lunch with him and keep it in the car? Make one of those sandwiches he makes with some cold cuts, have some hummus with baby carrots on the side, maybe just a few potato chips as a treat, and then some fruit for dessert. If he needs a pick me up snack in between, then some almonds or other none peanut nuts would be good.

This is just off the top of my head. If I had such an easily fixable problem costing me hundreds of dollars a day, I would fix it and stop whining about it.

I'm sorry, but Trooper is showing the life of a "poker player" on YouTube and people are starting to think that us poker pokers just stroll around the casino all day hoping we don't get lobbied to get some extra hours in for a freeroll. Some of us, actually take the game seriously and don't b*tch and moan all day long.

Also, the amount of caffeine he drinks a day and he says that Coke is poison. Is Trooper really qualified to comment on healthy vs not healthy issues? Does he not realize that he consumes as much sugar as most Coke drinkers in a day because he gets 8+ coffees with sugar/flavor syrup plus milk/cream.

Also, his sideburns seem to be graying or is that just an angle on the camera? Seems like his dream life is stressing him out.

I'm officially a hater now. He's making real poker players look bad.

I'm not sure who originally said this but, I like to be hungry when I play poker. Eat food, I'm done, need a nap.

You have been for quite a while now.

He eats poorly, drinks coffee, and takes too many breaks..... yeah what a douche... really making the average poker player look terrible. We all know the average player is hitting the gym 4 times a week and scarfing down tofu.

^I'm at $27/hr 1-2 and $31/hr 1-3 over thousands of hours logged. the problem is <$15/hr at 2-5 over a slowly increasing sample size.

thats pretty much been the case, the problem is I feel like (and is mostly confirmed by talking to others knowledgeable in the game) that I'm pushing the ceiling on these games and now what? I want moar and have been doing this too long not to try to progress.

semi-accurate. while I am well overrolled for 1-2, I would consider myself to be underrolled if I were playing 2-5 full time though I am comfortable taking shots.

...and here lies problem...I want to move up in stakes so need to grow bankroll, my hourly at 1-2/1-3 > 2-5...need experience in 2-5 obviously as well to beat the game for a better $. So I pretty much need to grind my @ss off at 1-2/1-3 while simultaneously evolving my game to 2-5 and learning the absolute most possible in the 2-5 sessions I take shots at.

Does that game play that big at Orleans? They don't even have a 2/5 game there. I wish they did.

I was there on Friday afternoon, place musta had 25 plus tables going. Packed house. Must have been a 2/5 going.

Eta: I did not pay attention to what Omaha games they were spreading, but there was more than one table.

No wonder they don't have a 2/5. The times I played I bought in for 300 thinking it was the max at 1/3. The games do play pretty good. Even when I played during the day with the grumpy locals that were comp chasing. smh
