A better move might be to play the same tournaments that Bikeking plays. The idea is to keep it a poker vlog without going broke playing poker.
Orleans is the lowest rake in Vegas. $3+$2 promo drop. They have plenty of promotions going giving the funds back to the players. Hat sales at the Orleans would be minimal due to 95% local grinders.

Yeah no kidding. Even a pack of hangars is pretty inexpensive and get's them duds off the floor.

Moving to limit is much harder than a lot of people realize. It’s not his game and he would be even more confused because of his inexperience. Even if he was a good NL player he could still easily struggle in the limit games.
Good point and exactly the one I was alluding to in my original post. Seemingly, when the camera goes off, Trooper is more inclined to open up his playing style. Many people ITT have concluded Trooper has a massive ego about his poker play. It's speculative, but it sort of fits the bill if he nits it up on camera to avoid ridicule/critique of his play vs. reporting back to the viewers a half assed HH in which he won/lost off camera. Would assume he'd lose respect if some of his actual hand histories were detailed. Can't think of particulars at the moment, but I remember watching the LATB stream thinking to myself, yup there's a reason we're not getting detailed HH's in the vlog!

I would have said a few months ago, trooper was my favorite vlog and Bike King was one of my least favorites. Now Bike king is must watch and the trooper videos kinda seem like they are going no where.

I find it much more interesting when the blogger lets you in on where their bankroll is sitting and how each session effects them. When there is never a mention on goals or progress then for me personally there is no point in following. BK is doing what trooper did that made hom so popular at first and now trooper talks about food and sprinkles in some poker but we have no idea what his goals or where his rolls stands. So when trooper loses 1300 or wins 550 why should we care because we have no idea how that effects his current situation.

Burton dove right in and cut his teeth playing micro stakes by logging into online poker site UltimateBet while taking in strategy tips from Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book.

My love and respect for Jaman just dropped a tiny bit..

If you are just starting and don't know anything, you have to start somewhere! I find the green and blue books awful, but may be fine for a true beginner. I loved the Gold book back in the day, although it is dated now.

Bikeking vlogs are sort of good, better than troops however I still believe he full of $hit for the most part.

i personally dont believe any of the stories about why he lives in his car, his bank hack, his apparent 6 fig job he could easily get or most of his hand histories where opponents always hit 2 outers.

Still enjoy watching him despite thinking he just a gambling addict living in his car

Jaman was just starting out. Isn’t the green book just really basic? I think Trooper would benefit from studying that book.

He would take a lot more bad beats in the limit games. For someone with tilt problems that would be a major issue.

He would get eaten alive. Those grinders have played thousands of more hands than him and he isn't the type to play good poker for hours at a clip. Totally outclassed. His only shot since he will never play tournaments is to bum hunt at the excalibur

He was down $950 at one point in that 1-2 NL game.

I agree.

There is just too many moves in limit versus no limit. Trooper would be at the beginning of the learning curve in trying to learn all of those moves.

Bikeking should Trooper-hunt. They play the same game. It would be the fastest way to build his roll back up.

Trooper, ever the superb hustler, is just sandbagging. His poor play and poor results at 1-3 and 1-2 are fake. Its just an image play to lure people into following him around to "take advantage" of him.

Once enough people are following him around, he will all of the sudden move up to 2-5 and 5-10 and lo and behold he becomes a totally different player, a killing machine who's gonna destroy all of the suckers who think they could continue beating him at those higher limits. The Trooper Trap is set!!!!!

In short, the Trooper losses and poor plays at 1-2 and 1-3 is just "advertising." Genius actually.

In addition, all of those laundry on the floor of his apartment are just props that reinforce the "disorganized sucker" image that he is strategically trying to convey. Same goes with all of the juvenile talk, behaviors and fashion. Just sandbagging props. Once he moves up, he'll suddenly be playing like the expert that he really is but people will already be set in their false beliefs that Trooper sucks. They will keep on going after him and they will keep losing, but will continue to believe that they can beat him. They won't. They all have just been conditioned by the master hustler.

More like soon to be extinct. That's probably why he wrote operation exit strategy on his whiteboard, and after big losses, he sounds like he's questioned why he continues to play. I wonder when his recent lease is up.

WTF!?! Those series of books were my bibles back in the day. They helped when I couldn't remember if a straight beat a flush! Hahaha. I was going to ride that knowledge all the way to the nosebleeds. Pure Gold it was!

Haha. You don't know how hard I laugh whenever I come across one of those books now. Man, that was a different time. Those were the days!

I am STILL thankful for the Gold book. After reading it, I started thinking about ranges, combinations, etc. Of course, there are much more advanced books on the subject now, but it was a HUGE REVELATION to me back in the day! I have probably read 60 books, and it is still one of my faves!
