I'm secretly hoping and praying that Trooper wins.

Troop would have won last year for 2016 since he's the OG, but he was surpassed a good while back.

Shim

A commonly used word for small penis originating in northern Texas.

A person with a small dick.
Person A: "My dick is 1.5 inches hard."
Person B: "You're such a shim."

Lol. I didn't know about that one. I was using it as the she/him combination word.

I sure hope Daniel or Doug don't win.

I really enjoyed both of their vlogs during the WSOP, but they were professionally produced and only ran for 2 months out of the year.

Daniel's vlogs were arguably the best ones ever..but hopefully the bolded type excludes both:

Nomination Panel and Jury members should focus on overall quality and frequency of published episodes.

I would vote for, in order:

1) Neeme
.
.
.
.
2) Trooper
.
.
3) Owen
.
4T) Boski, Kraut, Jaman

For best Supporting, I would give the award to Marianna "The Boss" in a very tight race over Cosmo, Molly & Kelly, The Feather, Rain Delay, Busi, and Clyde & Duke..

Who gets vote on these? From the website it looks like a panel of professional tourny players. Would they honestly know who the heck some of these Vloggers are other then DogPolk? Seems like another sham awards show just to generate profit.

Why would anyone vote for a vlogger that demeans other players? Seems a bit contradictory. If we don’t treat poker like an actual profession, growth is never going to happen.

Don’t we want tourists, newbies and recs to be comfortable at the table?

I get preferring someones personality but does anyone think Trooper/Boski actually helps poker gain respectability?

It depends what you want from your poker vlogs. Personally I have no interest in watching something that is sanitisied for the sake of the 'industry' or making toursits etc feel comfortable at the table. I'd rather view a warts and all vlog that has some entertainment. Let's be honest here, if one of the vloggers started arguing with someone at the table and ended up getting into a fight with them the views would go through the roof for that vlog. Entertainment is the main interest for me, not an infomercial for the game of poker.

Trooper started it but things really took off when Neeme started doing it. It was only when Neeme did it that other people thought to themselves that they should do it too.

When did things start going downhill for trooper in regards to fans.

I was a fan at the start, not sure when I saw the light though. Maybe after 1 year in vegas

Either that or the Vloggers game stuff. Claiming not to know about it, never being asked, then that he'd be somewhere else at the time when he couldn't deny knowing about it anymore etc etc

If there's one thing people want it's honesty, without that it all kinda falls apart. If someone's vlogging about their life and you don't have a certain level of trust in their honesty then you start to question just what's true and what isn't. Are they lying about their results? Are they lying about relationships? And so on.

What is the prize?
Anyone can attend the award show, and I would assume the winner is notified that they'll be winning so they can make the trip and prepare a speech.

Prize I think is just the trophy.

Voting system starts with a nomination panel. 50+ people will vote to select the final four nominees for each category.

Then it's up to the jury to debate and decide on the eventual winner.

If I was guessing, the nominations will include some combination of Alec Torelli, Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, and Trooper.

Alec and Doug's may be professionally produced, but they still pump them out regularly (Alec a few times a week and Doug once a week). The frequency will definitely hurt Negreanu.

They definitely need to include some of the amateur vloggers and if they look at pure stats (subscribers, views, thumbs up etc) then Neeme should be guaranteed a spot.

If the jury does their true due diligence and takes a look at the channels up for nomination, then Trooper should be the final entrant just based on frequency and length of time he's been doing it (especially compared to all other amateur vloggers).

Matt Vaughn is probably the wild card here, and to an extent JohnnieVibes although the age of his channel will hurt him.

Unfortunately for the likes of Jaman and BikeKing, there's no chance their getting written in as a nomination as I honestly don't think a large enough percentage of the nomination panel even knows who they are.

When it's all said and done, a nomination list of Doug Polk, Alec Torelli, Jonathan Little, and Jaime Staples wouldn't at all surprise me. With probably Staples winning due to his range of topics covered in his vlog, and his frequency compared to others listed.

The current poker vloggers are a great real life mix of the types of personalities that you'll see at any poker table in the country that you're going to play in. The true villian, cash game pros who are probably the best players at the table but have friendly/personable personalities so they don't scare the fish away. The OMC(s), to the occasional player, friendly/happy-go-lucky types, degen/recfish and everything in between. You see all these types at every table in every room.

So why do you guys seem to be such pussies when it comes to people showing their true personality in their vlogs? IMO it makes for a fascinating mix. Watch the personalities you like to root them on and watch(or novel concept..... DON'T WATCH) the ones that you don't like for the car crash effect. There really is something for everyone who enjoys watching poker vlogs.

Bunch of tissue paper feelings ITT.

I don't see how anyone could beat Doug Polk here using the qualifications listed. His subscriber count, frequency, variety of content and production are all really high. I would think having a professional production team to help push out a better product would be seen as beneficial not as a detriment right?

Where the majority of the other vloggers stay in a particular lane(live tourneys, cash game grinding, lifestyle, etc). Polk traverses them all, covers a wider range of topics, mixes in interviews, humor, controversy and shows online play.

I dunno, seems like a pretty slam dunk choice imo.

Good crossover of supporting characters between Trooper and PokerKraut. Last time, Kraut had Kelli in his vlog. Now, Trooper has this guy in his vlog...

Spoiler:
the Feather

I think Trooper and Pokerkraut are still friends.
