Older players make the game far more enjoyable in every aspect. They are also easier to read, and have better table talk. They tend to play straight up poker. The younger players are usually wannabe's or too cool for school.

Other things:

- Fast forward a little more when folding, there was one point where you folded like 10 hands in a row and it was too much downtime.

- Talk to the camera in between hands sometimes. Even if it's just you getting a sandwich or walking to the bathroom. This achieves 2 things: you get people to know you as a person better, and it breaks up the monotony (sp?) of the video. Right now it's looking too much like a strategy video.

Just my opinion, others might disagree.

Thanks for the suggestions! Ya I originally thought adding in the folded hands would add to the realism but I'm realizing it's just boring instead. I plan on including footage of only the bigger/interesting hands going forward.

I would like to add more in casino footage but I think that would surely get me banned. Perhaps I could do some mid hand stuff outside but I'm not sure that would be very interesting either.

I have to admit I love Andrew's videos and his inspiration was what pushed me over the edge to finally do this. I had told myself I was going to do it a few years back but just got lazy and wasn't sure anyone would be interested. Unfortunately for me my videos may suffer from some monotony since I don't have the luxury of having so many different casinos nearby anymore. Hopefully I can offer some different content in the way of bigger games and some other ideas I have...guess we'll see how it all pans out.

Thanks again, I appreciate the input

Jeez, TheTrooper is such a cry baby.

He probably thinks the casinos owe him a piece of the rake for the half dozen low limit millionaires he attracted to these 1/2 games.

Just watched
Ok it is very technical.. Maybe more for poker nerds. Not my cup of tea
I just think its not easy vlogging, I wouldn't do it. So, the people that find a reason to vlog. I try and give them a look. If they post in here I will watch. The poker content imo has been really good. I understand if you don't dig it.

I think it's safe to surmise that MGM had a talk with Trooper because of PokerKraut going off on MGM the other day. Trooper is collateral damage.

Half dozen? Yeah right. I bet he's brought far more than that into games.

I'm coming into Vegas this week and was planning to play some at MGM specifically because of the Trooper, but now that's obviously off the table. BTW, I wonder who the other 5 guys are.

This may be true. I've thought for a while that the vloggers' (as a collective) one true negative is their raw negativity when they don't like something about one of the poker rooms. There are much better ways to express ones concerns than through an emotional rant on youtube.

He did not say or imply anything about the casinos owing him a kickback for promoting them. Now you're just stretching. There are some legitimate reasons to criticize Trooper, but one has to wonder what is wrong with you that you have to go out of your way to make things up.

Looks like this could kill a lot of these Vlogs- Don't know if gaming commission could make a statement if filming just hole cards and chips is allowed. These Vlogs seemed to be gaining some real momentum too, without in game footage it will be hard to get casual new watchers imo

meh i gots a back up plan if we get the camera banhammer. got 2 vids coming right now where i already have a bunch of hands in but we will see what happens after. would be cool if some room would come out and say its a go but i dont see that happening since they probably don't feel they have the authority to...maybe the T.I. or something since Ruffin is a poker junky and the rooms pretty slow...stupid situation really since all the people filming are pretty much just capturing images of their own hands.

The videos Trooper and Andrew are putting out are on another level. I would love to see an explanation from Doug Polk about calling out Vloggers while simultaneously streaming on twitch.

BS move Doug.

I'm still watching it right now...between the degeneracy and the AK hand this video is pretty damn epic. I highly recommend it.

I was trying to find the original post this was a response to but couldn't find it. Anyway ya I can definitely see this being boring to the casual poker viewer. I'm going to try to cut down on the excessive footage and hopefully keep it more engaging. I would like to hear what people think makes a vlog interesting.

Get some norcaljew in there. I think he is in that area you are in. Your vlog was pretty good. Love PLO vlogs. Just keep em about 8 to 12 min long and you should keep up the interest. You can never go wrong with hookers and blow but what do I know lol

Ugh little Andrew, pls dont show the players faces. In a bit of a flux at the moment to see where the dice falls on the whole filming hands thing, need to keep it a harmless as possible.

Do what you like to do, because it will make you want to vlog more. Here is the thing. It seems this thread likes lifestyle vlogs more than poker content only. Youtube viewers that comments lean towards seeing poker hands as the number 1 thing that they like to see. I would keep it poker heavy content wise, but add a little food, and local scenery.

Doug Polk just tweeted out that he didn't call the Vegas Cardrooms to snitch on the youtube vloggers. His tweet didn't mention Laughlin though. I think that was him.

No conspiracy theories here please. I don't think Doug Polk gives two ****s if people are able to vlog, we don't need people here getting stirred into a rage over nothing.

The Poker Vlog boom might end if there is no poker footage to be had.
