In the video I watched yesterday from Trooper he mentions getting slowrolled, and then was upset at himself later when he won money back from that player but forgot to slowroll him back.

This is clear evidence that he tilts. If you're thinking about slowrolling a guy after he slowrolled you then the slowroll obviously got under your skin. He shouldn't let his opponent distract him that easily.

Not more purple haze... RIP old HTC one M7 now using galaxy S7 and The Trooper's old point and shoot camera.

FredEx definitely has the best vlogs. The only person I could see surpassing him is Stormtrooper97 and for some reason he has not started vlogging yet.

Hopefully no reaction vlog/videos in the future.

Troop needs to realize that first off he was on a nice heater, and second he needs that promo money to boost his hourly and his roll.

Going to be interesting where he takes this over the next month. Gonna set the tone for his 3rd year in vegas. If he wastes another year waffling while getting passed up by the more polished vloggers it would be disappointing. Just when we thought he was finally "getting it".
bro, just stop. you're making yourself look bad. trooper has already proven all the haters and doubters wrong. he has proven that as long as he puts in the hours, he can finance a baller lifestyle through playing live no-limit poker. he wins. you lose.

I like playing with a much older crowd. They are often more interesting and dynamic people. Not saying I don't enjoy playing with a wide range of players. Just a preference I guess.

I mostly agree with you, but you always run the risk of getting into the "medical condition" conversation. I really don't need to hear about gout, hemorrhoids, or any other ailments from people being kept alive by science (or science fiction).

Alright well I didn't get a response to my question and since I couldn't find a better place to post this here's my first Vlog

I plan on going more in depth as to my background in future episodes so I don't want to go into too much detail right now. I currently live in San Francisco and play mostly at the same Casino. I'm hoping to make more trips to other NorCal rooms to keep it fresh. I've played all over but haven't been able to travel much lately since the birth of my son.

I'm open to constructive criticism and know I have a lot to improve. Originally I wanted to wait until I had a really polished product but I figured this is a learning process and if I didn't just jump into it then I might never get things done. I've been told to include board graphics as well as bet sizing so that should hopefully make it into the next episode.

Thanks again and please let me know if this should be posted elsewhere since it's not technically a Las Vegas Vlog...although I did live there for a number of years and still have a place there. Cheers!!

Every time I see someone talk about trying to do that, I think it's really obvious that the biggest motive is revenge. And that's a clear sign of tilt. It's better to just focus on playing your game and not getting into that type of distraction with someone else. Plus it's even more tilting if you're thinking about getting revenge, and the guy beats you again.

When this topic comes up on the forums, the person bringing it up always seems to make a much bigger deal out of it than it really is. Many times it's from an inexperienced player that doesn't know any better and takes forever to read the board. And even if someone does it on purpose, so what?

If you ever get back at him, you let him know that he got under your skin and these guys want to see a reaction from you. So it encourages them to slowroll you again and again because you've shown that it bothers you. It also slows down the game and is rude to the other players.

90% of the time some old guy slow rolls you it's A. it's really taking him that long to understand wtf is going on or B. he is a casual player that thinks it is fun like messing with friends in a home game to build suspense and doesn't understand it is bad etiquette. Both these scenarios generally involve a losing player so don''t take it personal.

Doesn't prove he tilts just proves he is human like everyone else. Some very stupid logic ITT

I don't have a narrow definition of tilt like many people do. I don't mean that he starts spewing or chasing like a huge fish when someone slowrolls him. I don't think Trooper was doing that.

I was thinking more along the lines that it distracts him from playing his A game. If he gets upset (and he clearly was unless he was just making it sound dramatic for the video), and has thoughts about revenge then that doesn't sound like someone who is really calm, focused and on his A game.

Hmm, maybe we agree after all. I don't expect Trooper to be perfect and play his A game 100% of the time. Everyone has things that will annoy/distract them. I think that slowroll got to him too easily.

I think you just assumed I meant he went on massive tilt and start spewing like a maniac or something. I didn't mean that at all. I think there are much more mild forms of tilt.

There is a really good book called The Poker Mindset which goes into tilt and some of its various forms. That's where I first learned that tilt is defined too narrowly by some. I think Andrew mentioned this book in a recent video btw. So if anyone thinks I'm making stuff up you might find the discussion about tilt in that book to be pretty interesting.

I have not read the poker mindset - but I am with steve here. Tilt does in fact cover a very broad spectrum. From the monkey going bat sht crazy all the way to dropping off your A game by getting bored or feeling entitled and playing a hand that you normally would not play.

the further away the tilt is from stone cold monkey tilt the easier it becomes to justify your actions. Oh I had to balance my range here...blah blah blah

Being self aware aint ez. It takes a ton of emotional control, brutal honesty, and an ego that can survive knowing that you can in fact make mistakes and are not perfect.

my personal thoughts

I'm not a huge youtube vlog watcher in general, and even less of a poker vlog watcher. I started out watching Troopers vlog, but got to the point where I couldnt stand it anymore. It's pretty much the same thing every vlog:
1. get out of bed
2. pan around to living room with no furniture and stuff laying all over the floor
3. drive to casino
4. get coffee
5. couple hands of poker
6. get food
7. return to game
8. go home

Now I do realize he puts in a lot of time to his vlog editing and such. And I did enjoy the scenes from Vegas and inside the casino. That being said, I really could do without him yelling at people from inside his car, talking under his breath at how stupid people are as they walk by like he is something special. Maybe he does this in an effort to try to be funny. It's not funny. It's awkward, negative, and quite frankly, cringeworthy. I personally receive nothing of value by watching his videos, so I stopped watching them.

I recently ran across a fairly new poker vlog by Andrew Neeme. His videography is at least on par, if not better already than The Trooper, and his vlogs contain much more insight. For instance he goes over his thought process in his hands he chooses to show and his q & a 's seem to be better thought out.

Just my two cents.
