If he have a gambling problem (he probably does at some level, but i dont want to take the role of pshycologist), a part of him unconciously likely want to go broke. Cause when you go broke its all over, the itch to gamble cant be scratched cause you simply dont have any money. The temptation can rest, at least for a while.

I think I jumped the gun. The name I saw saw was "B O'Connor" but I guess that was perhaps - in an odd coincidence - the name of the person to whom he paid his fee.

So you think he's pretending to be broke to create "drama"? Trooper's not that smart.

He makes $500 a month on youtube(500k views = $500), $200 a month in patreon and after this latest loss he's only up $6k this year on poker. He's broke.

A typical 10 minute Neeme/Boski/Owen vlog, will take me 10 minutes each to watch.

A typical 10 minute Trooper vlog, will take me about 2 minutes to watch.

I'm sure many subscribers do the same..fast forward through Trooper's vlogs, looking for any bits of interesting content and his final Won/Loss amount..

Nah, I like to watch them all the way thru. The potential for comedy is too great and you might miss something.

Watched the end again to see this and ya, it's sad.
Damn, I'm actually rooting for him to go on a heater now.

Because as you mentioned i dont really like him, and i think he comes off as a clown in many ways. His english sounds ridicilous, he dont knows **** about good poker (even though he tries to act like he does with his ******ed HH and whatnot), and he appears to think he is a baller without any real reason to believe so. He seems like a drama queen in some ways who enjoys the attention and the noise, just more subtle than for example Trooper. He is socially more aware than Trooper, so he is smart enough to keep it in the background in some way so it doesent come off just as obvious.

In my opinion its something about him that doesent come off as authentic and transparent. Something just doesent add up, thats just my gut feeling when i watched couple of his videos.
I'm definitely not getting this vibe from PK. His poker may not be great but I disagree with everything else you've written about him. Also, re the baller thing, I think he sold a successful business in the past but he in no way gives off the 'baller' vibe.

I think No Quarter is right that true busto is a false narrative because the dude never ends up truly busto. Maybe back to the Manor or maybe he gets a job to keep the apartment and stops playing until he gets it. But he won't be like "tunnels" busto. There will be enough cash to keep him in the finery he's grown accustomed to such as pizza, burgers and of course Pikes Place cold brew.

His channel is on life support though as far as content and longer term financial viability. He's basically done the opposite of everything I or anyone else suggested in terms of growth (except in breasticles) and it's showing through and through.

If anyone is getting "famous" in the near future in the vlogging game is Doug, followed by Neeme or Boski if he ships a major tournament.

Tim will always be the "Real World" of poker vlogging, full of drama but it's about as far from the real world of poker playing as you can get. No one with any real money or influence in that world that's of any quality will ever hitch their wagon to the Trooper brand. If anything when previously businesses have partnered with him it's said much more about him due to their lack of quality (B.S., PokerTube, InterTops, Big Berkey Water Filters) than anything else. His brand attracts the bottom 33%

"Busto" for Trooper equals Moving out of his current apartment or getting a job. Either will mean a lack of funds to sustain his lifestyle.

While Trooper is degen enough to go totally busto from poker. He has residual income from YT, donations and T shirts so a check will roll in even if he loses it all one night.

Watching Trooper "break down" at the end of his rant yesterday was a super bummer. The guy seems to be near the end of his rope. Getting a job and playing LESS is the winning strat for him imo

In the four stages of competence, Trooper has been stuck at the "unconscious incompetence" stage for years. You can tell this both by his results and by how he believes he possesses unique and proprietary knowledge, so unique he feels even trying to explain it would be a waste of time because his listeners just wouldn't understand the brialliance that is him. Such is the extent of the human mind's ability to rationalize and delude oneself, even when faced with overwhelming objective evidence to the contrary

Gonna start checking out Boski's videos. Heard some Pearl Jam in his latest one so that's a good start.

This is a good post.

I laugh when Trooper tries to explain things to his audience as if they're too stupid to understand.

Anyone out there game for posting Trooper's July results (till now) ?

It's got to be gawd awful.

I really don't know how Trooper can take the daily pain.

I really can't figure how Trooper stays afloat ?

While I unsubbed from troop after his rant against waitresses I had to look up this scene of him crying, so I skip straight to the 14m mark and the first thing that comes out of his mouth "there were about 9 moments out of my control". Typical fish blaming anything and everything but their own bad play. Then he goes on and on about how bad of a call AQ high was and how that guy is making the game great. Thing is if I saw someone at 1/3 shipping AK high I'd actually say THEY are the one's making the game great. Even more hilarious is that I 100% guarantee every fish at that table has labeled Trooper as the mark. If he'd just play for value every time he'd do fine. I dont even know why he thinks he has to get tricky, a 20-30% range of hands is about 1 hand per orbit which is plenty of opportunity to steadily add chips and that doesnt even count the times you stack someone. We're just talking winning cbets on the flop and turn with some showdown value when you get there.

Oh yeah and he definitely had a frog in his throat at the last 10 seconds. Nobody would damn near cry unless that was like the last of their rent money.

I sometimes wonder if he ever regrets torching his uptick roll at 5/10. I said it then and I'll say it again, damn he shoulda just pocketed that and used it to stay at 2/5 where you can make a legitimate living. That was like his one last shot to actually do it at poker since he had close to a 2/5 roll with that upswing. The hubris to think that he could just martingale it up and not have to worry about consequences. He deserves whatever happens.
