I like Andrew's poker content. I had to steal a page from his book and freeze the hand action when tanking/considering a hand in action b/c it really feels more like the actual situation at the table.

thx, I may increase the frequency and aim more for shorter even heavier poker content vids for a bit and see how I like that. I'm working on a really great non poker but very Las Vegas video for the channel as well but it's more of a several week project I think.

Just finished the latest video. You're clearly getting better with the editing. I know the pic art takes more time, but it makes for easier to view hand history .The hand breakdowns is pretty interesting. Even more so from the bad play coming from the other players at the table.

Whey, I think it might help you right now if you created a story board template and followed that for every video.

Intro - Workout - Driving to poker room - Poker hands analysis - Conclusion

I think allowing the audience to know what to expect in terms of consistent story outline and consistent output of videos helps form relationship with the vlogger and viewers.

After you're more comfortable with editing and getting the video, then you can start straying from the format a little bit and putting personal touches on it.

I miss the poker content that his vlogs had before. When he tells a hand, I see no reason why he can't put up some card graphics to make it easier to understand. He mentioned a turn card and how it gave him an open ended straight bur I thought it was a gutshot. Graphics might help reduce confusion.

It's an exciting time in his vlog...finally.
I agree 100% about the graphics. TheTrooper tells a hand history terribly. It's a combination of laziness and forgetfulness which prevents him from a) writing down notes to give an accurate description of a hand, and b) not taking the time to add small graphics on the screen while describing said histories.

For someone who has been doing this for years I'm somewhat surprised the fella hasn't taken the time to put out a better product. All of Andrew Neeme's vlogs are professional and polished. Some of TheTrooper videos look like lost cell phone camera footage.

thats pretty much been the case, the problem is I feel like (and is mostly confirmed by talking to others knowledgeable in the game) that I'm pushing the ceiling on these games and now what? I want moar and have been doing this too long not to try to progress.

semi-accurate. while I am well overrolled for 1-2, I would consider myself to be underrolled if I were playing 2-5 full time though I am comfortable taking shots.

...and here lies problem...I want to move up in stakes so need to grow bankroll, my hourly at 1-2/1-3 > 2-5...need experience in 2-5 obviously as well to beat the game for a better $. So I pretty much need to grind my @ss off at 1-2/1-3 while simultaneously evolving my game to 2-5 and learning the absolute most possible in the 2-5 sessions I take shots at.
2/5 here in LV is so different than 1/2 it's hard to even talk about any crossover strategies other than preflop hand selection. I can't even play 1/2 while I wait for 2/5 because I will just spew money. PM me sometime this weekend if you're out playing and I'm down to meet up and talk some 2/5

I'd actually prefer he didn't do this. Keeps it fresh if it's a bit more random. I'd quickly get bored of them if they all followed the same template.

Tim has been doing it for years and recently it has been every single day so you can tell he is getting a bit bored of it by now. There are several vlogs where he phones it in. Even his best vlogs aren't that interesting anymore.

For Andrew, it is all new so he is enjoying it more since it is new. Plus, his success if giving him confidence in his product while Tim must be losing confidence as he's seeing a new guy release better quality videos and get way more views.

That could turn someone off from even doing a vlog.

Andrew mentioned that he vlogs because he wants to create something. I have no idea why Tim still does it. He can't be making money and it's really taking up way too much of his time everyday. I'm curious what his motivation is other than just checking off a box that he "worked" everyday.

meh...all depends. noone watches mine (relatively, one of andrews has 45,000 views in a week!?) but just got into it for fun/motivation so the politics/#s are of little relevance to me. i do remember trooper getting defensive and saying something along the line of him wanting to be king though so that might be a bit awkward andrew crushing out #s like that new on the scene.

This would be an interesting discussion.

Could someone list a couple of the different strategy differences

IMO, the difference between the two is that Andrew is a professional poker player who vlogs, and Tim is a vlogger who plays poker. Tim long ago declared that if he had to give up either vlogging or poker, he'd give up poker first.

Has anyone heard from or seen Tappanzee lately? He uploaded a video 8 days ago which he said was old footage from the Venetian because he was too sick to film a new one. And he hasn't posted since then. Hope all is well and that he's just taking a break or perhaps went back home to Vermont for Thanksgiving.

The sad thing is that Andrew crushes Tim in both. I know we are all different, special snowflakes but Tim's snowflake is melting next to Andrew's snowflake. I would think seeing someone crush it in both your areas of expertise (poker and vlogging) would light a fire under Tim's butt...and it looks like it might have with his 100hr challenge.

Now, let's see if Tim steps up his vlogging game with some creative content and maybe some more creative editing. Time lapses and shots of the strip to start the vlog are cool, but is there anything other than handheld ranting after the first 20-30 seconds?

I think Tim has something up his sleeve and I hope he reveals it soon because in a month or so, he might no longer be relevant.

On the sub count, Andrew is 8 away from 11K and Tim is at 11,725. I think he will pass him before December 1st! Shocking!

I guess it makes sense that a LVL thread about all LV Poker Player Vlogs will have a focus on who's got the most subs etc ...

That said, I have not once heard or seen any of the vloggers draw such comparisons.

Obviously if you take on the hard work of creating a vlog you hope that many people will show interest in your work and your message.

Vlogging is an art and a skill, and reducing it to a popularity contest like in Black Mirror season 3 seems beyond lame. And certainly, the whole idea of competition and of measuring success based on how many subs/views others have is not at the forefront for any of the vloggers ...

The Trooper is the far more interesting character of the two. We hardly even discuss Andrew unless it's to make comparisons with the Trooper.

I enjoy watching all the vlogs. Sometimes they're great and sometimes not, but even a subpar 15 min Las Vegas Poker vlog is better than a good 15 mins. at work. Thanks to all of you vloggers for spending the time and effort to allow me a break from my mundane work. I appreciate it and am always looking forward to the next upload.

Well considering TheTrooper has made over 500 videos and Andrew Neeme has made exactly 20, and they basically have the same number of subscribers shows you exactly what kind of quality difference there is between the two creators.

Most people I know here in town are more the type to watch Andrew play mid-level poker and checkout cool places (like the Mandarin rooftop which I didn't even know about) instead of watching TheTrooper coupon clip, qualify for freerolls, road-rage, promo-whore, and get coffee/pizza everyday while complaining the entire time about how tired and glum he feels.

I spotted him playing at Caesars a few days ago. I didn't see him filming though. Didn't he say that he was having visitor(s) come to town during a recent vlog?

Surprised you live there and weren't aware of Mandarin Bar. But it would be a good idea for Trooper to vlog some different locales / restaurants / casinos / etc. Seems like there is always something new opening up in Vegas (along with a ton of hidden gems that are already open), so plenty of material.
