He needs the hours to be able to afford the resort fee waivers, higher tier status, and daily gatorades. That's like 10% of his monthly nut if I absolutely needed that to survive, I'd probably nit it up too

It's funny how he idolizes Trooper when he should be idolizing Herbs and Rye. The dude is a legit crusher.

He will likely play less hours at MGM going forward since they no longer are giving platinum status out for poker.

You are right though that he needs to at least maintain diamond at Caesars in order to avoid paying resort fees, and preferably diamond plus for his all-important daily drink vouchers.

So MGM stopped platinum from poker but the gold is still 150 hours?

Rice mentioned in a recent vlog how the food had never quite measured up to that time during the F1 when he was living in his car and only eating at the MGM Platinum lounge. That means he's been a regular diner there ever since.

So hilarious when he complains that everyone he stacks at the Horseshoe has $50 in their stack, yet he seeks out those games filled with short stackers.

So good the line about him wanting to make as much as possible as quickly as possible yet stays away from ability to make anymore than he has.

I wonder if his whole persona about being the best at everything despite literally being a homeless vagrant is really trying to hide some deep insecurities and thats part of what keeps him at 1-2, and why he freaks out when he loses even a small amount of money, because he thinks hes not worthy.

People with money, dont go to the horseshoe or the flamingo or whatever other small stakes rooms he plays at, westgate, sahara etc. People with money stay at the Wynn, they stay at the aria, however that in turn draws players who are better.

At the end of the day, in poker youre sort of living off the fat of the land in the sense that you need the fish to come donate. So many times you play and play with regs at the 5-10s and the 10-20s of the world, and then like manna from heaven a guy will appear and lose 10k in 20 minutes then go off into the night never to be seen again, and those are hte moments you get at the Wynn and at the Aria that i dont think you get the equivalent thing at the horseshoe, at the horseshoe you get the pool hustler degen type come in and maybe bluff it off, maybe get the nuts and stack some old guy who hasnt played a hand in 2 hours. and then lock it up or cash out. And i do think the same thing happens at all levels at Wynn and Aria, my first time in vegas i played 1-3 at the Wynn and basically that happened, im playing with a bunch of local grinders i thought at the time talking about the weather in February being nice and stuff and then some euro partiers came with their girlfriends, and they brought the party and lost some money and then went off into the night. And they were super fun, unless you were one of the withered regs who had his rent money on the table, the el diesel type really. They were not happy. But thats such a key component of the Wynn Aria games that i feel like never ever happens at these other places. Maybe could happen at the Mandalay i guess, i think that is a lot nicer of a place than horseshoe and they actually have a club and kindve a scene, its not just for retired people. Maybe you get that at the westgate with sporting events too idk, but seems like that stuff always is happening at wynn or aria. And its also just like ok, youre a millionaire adrenaline junky, are you going to go to the Wynn? which has insane hot girls at all times, is extremely nice with everything they have, is a party atmosphere, or are you going to the horseshoe, where they have a hot dog restaurant outside and a giordanos that you cant even order carry out from unless its an individual pizza you get from the bottom level. I really dont know why anyone would play there to be honest, you know exactly what youre going to get there, grinder types, retirees, people playing for promos and freerolls and high hand jackpots and whatever else they have going on, i really just dont get it.

When will his status reset?

Since Rice has documented every piss he has taken in the last ten years, he should be able to figure out where and when to play to increase the win in fewer hours.

Unfortunately for him, it is not Vegas.

does he only play from 10am-4pm?

No, he mostly plays at Horseshoe and some Caesars and MGM Grand. Why play anywhere else like Resorts World, Wynn, Aria and Mandalay Bay where the games are deeper and attracts action players?

Aria was in his play rotation till they raised the max buy in at 1-3 to $500 and that became a pseudo 2-5 so he stopped playing there.

This reminds me towards the end of me playing NL seriously maybe 6-7 years ago I'm in some dirt 5/10 nl game at Bellagio.

I'm gonna leave on the next dealer but some total random sits down and starts making it 200-300 to go almost every hand. He dumps an easy 20k in an hour.

Of course half these miserable regs still have their headphones on and won't say a word.
He's sitting on my direct left and we have a few drinks.

There's a hand where the on the turn 1 seat bot slides out 2 stacks of 10 dollar chips while whispering something to the dealer with about 1000 more behind, all in 10 dollars chips bc yea hes that kinda guy. Guy on my left calls with a pure gutter nothing else.

Now one seat says that he said all in before he slid the chips out. Dealer is like oh he said all in.

Wtf.

Literally nobody heard him.

They call the floor.
The corrupt floor which always made shady rules for the regs tells the guy he can leave the 400 and fold or call the all in.

Naturally this guy is pissed off.

I tell him if he folds I'll give him the 400.

He goes in his pocket and takes out 150k in 25k chips and says "I don't care about 400 dollars but what the **** kind of game is this"

Decides to call it off.

No justice he doesn't hit the gutter and he leaves.

I tell seat one what a piece of **** he is.
I swear half the table didn't even know what happened since they're so entrenched in catching up on Netflix on their tablets.
Some other guy tells me "buddy you gotta do what you gotta do" referring to seat 1s move.

I'm like yea you idiots do have to resort to **** like that bc these games suck so much 95 percent of the time. You get a guy who plays like that maybe once a year and can't even give him a halfway good time.

I have not been in that poker room since.

Vegas regs are the absolute worst.

Rice for all his quirks and trying to tell the Trooper what he said 7 years ago today on his way to Starbucks is more enjoyable to be around than most of them. That's how bad they are.

I theoretically could have reset 2/1/24 but the new video claims its a rolling 12 month period. So if that is the case anyone who has played 12.5 hour per month for each month of the past year will maintain permanent tier status.

He probably is right about the games being tight and tougher than at other places. He did show stats before and his worst results are in Vegas, so clearly people in Vegas don’t pay him off as much.

He also plays in some rooms that have freerolls and if he plays during the day at least occasionally that will increase the chances he finds a nitty table.

I still think that Diesel is a much better player than people give him credit for.

If he was forced to play a different style or higher stakes then I think he could easily adapt but the reason he doesn't is he doesn't have a need to adapt as he feels like he's already making enough money.

He has a system in place that he doesn't deviate from and that includes playing a lower variance style and playing with less aggressive players.

He doesn't really tilt and doesn't have degen tendencies, he's ahead of 99% of other poker players already there and those are the hardest traits to develop as a poker player imo.

Players like p-man, trooper and bikeking likely play relatively break even most of the tjme but have some fundamental leaks and likely goes on monkey tilt when things go badly. I do think Diesel understands the fundamental aspects of poker well enough
so doesn't have leaks there either. He just chooses a low variance style that most people could not do because it's so boring and /or they cannot survive off of the low hourly that Diesel makes.

He doesn’t tilt? He has mental breakdowns on camera and has to quit playing if he loses a buy in.

Everyone tilts, some in more subtle and nuanced ways, el diesel is not a seasoned player, he is a very novice player. Not being able to play the volume he wants to play because he’s emotional and can’t deal is a big version of tilt, and a great example of how novice he is. I get the feeling you’re referring to just crazy reckless plays, but I don’t really think that many people do that, maybe I’m wrong.

I think bike king is much worse than any other players you mentioned
