The name of that jerky is a case for why the hyphen is important.

Doug was fat and he will be fat again. And here's why...

During an interview with Jungleman last year Doug said that he had lost a lot of weight. The problem was, according to him, 100% of the weight came from muscle loss with 0% fat loss -- remember, the bet was fat loss not weight loss. He admitted to Jungleman that he was very devastated.

The reason Doug will be fat again is because each pound of muscle auto-burns 30 to 60 calories per day even at rest. He just lost tons of muscles. The end result is that he will be losing the ability to auto-burn tons of calories due to the muscle loss. During the weight loss bet, he consumed very little calories. Now that the bet is over, he will be going back to normal eating (lots of insane barbecue ribs in Texas). Once you add up all of these, you have guaranteed weight gain. Because on the one had, there is the loss of ability to burn fat at rest. On the other hand, there is an increase in caloric intake. Not to mention, Doug probably exercised higher than average during the bet and he will be back to normal activities after the bet.

Solution? Doug Polk would now be a massive favorite to win weight gain and fat gain bets. And he should make them ASAP. Maybe against Nik Airball who is already at the top range of his fat composition and would therefore have little additional upside on fat gain.
