That reminds me of 2 passive super nits I played with who just thought they ran bad.

Once played 5/10 nl several times a week and late in the year bragged that he could count on one hand the number of times he'd been stacked all year.

Another one summer who played 5/5 plo (which often played 5/5/10 plo ,except for him since "I never straddle") said he had his worst night of the year the night before.

I guessed he'd lost 5000 and he was almost offended and told me that he had lost 1300(and he always bought in for 1000)

Of course he played for several years, breaking even at best not realizing that poker had long past him by.

It is seen as a good thing from more novice players to assume not losing is good but if you actually play poker seriously you will have big losses. If the biggest loss youve ever had is 1300 at 5-5 plo you arent taking as many +ev spots as you could, and everytime you pass up a +ev spot your overall hourly or winrate or whatever you would like to call it goes down. Nobody who is making 100$ an hour at 5-5 plo is not losing 2k+ pretty frequently, poker isnt some magic game where variance and swings dont exist, its lost the mystique of the "ok lemme look at you.....nope you dont have it" that more novice people might think exists.

El diesel, and ive watched his videos and enjoy them, saying thats his biggest loss and saying he doesnt want to "take unnecessary risk" of playing 2-5 is goofy. Why make 50$ an hour when you can make 14? Anytime somebody has an excuse like that its always BS. Hes gotta be an extreme nit if thats his biggest loss and hes playing that many hours consecutively. No problem with that, do your thing but i just think its goofy basically

it's not just that but I bet if he does get stacked twice in a row by people getting there vs his sets he'll just leave the table to protect his "biggest loss" even if the game is great

Huge amount of players have these kind of mental leaks, even serious grinders/pros.

I think this girl loves drama, she is also very Trooper, Pman like in she will not get a real job and was hoping to garner clicks etc for money. Which we saw will not pan out as she is not super hot and though she can hold her own at a high limit poker table she isn't willing to put in the work to be a better player. Sounds so familiar doesn't it?

PB seems like an autistic young woman with trauma who dozens of lonely, well off, narcissistic poker types would love to exploit. Staking someone of her level of play, and mental instability is a power play in the dynamic of a narcissist. Add some drugs and pills into the mix, get these girls in serious makeup, then it's "Well, I know one way we can work off this debt."

What's with every 20 something chick, randomly bursting on the scene for high stakes poker action staying at Veer Towers. Marle, PB, Brandi (or was she at Panorama?). I hope everyone stays out of harms way, but anyone with a brain can see the dark turn this story is going to take.

Maybe Hellmuth is PBs backer. Maybe he's the one who put that chip in PBs head!

You would just have to go through early versions of this thread when Trooper was actually trying to seriously grind 1/2.

When Trooper had a -3 buy-in loss for a session, a whole pack of trolls would come out amazed how you could ever lose more than a few hundred in a 1/2 game.

The lunacy fed on itself until it became accepted wisdom in this thread that everyone knows you should never go all-in with anything less than the absolute stone cold nuts.

Despite this being a poker forum, any strategy postings in this thread usually reaches the level of discussion you hear among a bunch retirees around a 3/6 limit table.

Has anyone else here played with El Diesel? I did a few times but the most recent time was 5 or 6 years ago.

At the time I thought he had a very straightforward ABC style. He limped in a lot of spots, including on the BTN when I would have preferred raising. He played tight PF, and when he did play a hand he normally limped in hoping to hit something and get paid off. Unless he had a premium hand, and I’m not 100% sure because it’s been a while but I think he raised with those.

To be fair at the time on the 2+2 forums the advice was to not bluff much at those stakes and try to get paid off by the loose players.

It was a playing style that won’t lead to getting stacked very often and won’t lead to many big losing days but he plays long enough sessions I’m surprised he hasn’t had a bigger losing day.

Don’t raise with AK it’s just a drawing hand.

I’ve seen El Diesel get it in on a draw, but it was a flush draw with two overs (AK). It was against a tight reg though, and El Diesel should know that any regulars would think he is unlikely to bluff.

Wish I could remember the board and the action.

Not sure why I'm chiming in for El Diesel since the last post of his I read was in my well thread and it was semi-crapping on me, but...

I've only got ~half the hours he does under my belt at 1/3 NL.

5160.5 hours
654 sessions (average session length being 7.89 hours)
$20.54/hr (6.85 bb/hr, it is what it is and I'm fine with it, although I'm sure everyone else is doing so much better in capped BI / high raked games)

I've lost $1000+ exactly twice.

First was for $1200 (all the money I had in my wallet) in a session within my first 300 hours. Most valuable money I've ever spent on poker as it taught me an incredibly important lesson very early on: that like 98% of the game is avoiding tilt.

Second time was for $1,013 and was just one of those sessions where everyone always gets there every time no matter what. Yawn.

Admittedly, *huge* nit. But there's not that much reason not to be at these steaks.

Because you're the biggest nit on these forums and you regularly perform sitewide searches for the word "nit" just so that you can chime in with your expertise.

Will he finally take that stupid Bitcoin Latinum hat off his head?
Guarantee you he cant explain what the company does in his own words
When he went on Polk's podcast and rambled about it for 30 minutes
I still had no idea WTF the company does
and I have an advanced degree in math (not braggin' just saying)
and I've been trading options for 25 years.
I swear he must have been reading off cue cards or had notes open in another window on his laptop
Even Polk sounded like he had no idea what he was promoting

And this is another company that I assure you he can't explain in his own words

And this is coming from a huge PH fanboy.
His shameless shilling just makes him look ridiculous.
Or at least more so than usual

I'm gonna start a pet store and call it Bitcoin Puppies Infinitum
and people will think it's some quantum physics level company

it's just like the way to find out which accounts here are women is to go to a thread about OP where OP is female and getting positive attention

see which accounts are most critical of OP and those are the females
