Not saying trooper plays kick ass A+ poker but as a perfessional with multiple years of playing over 2k hrs per year some of which where done past the age of 45 - I can say this:

Going from playing short sessions - and not really banging out a lot of hours to doing this 100 hour challenge while playing yer personal best AINT happenin. It is akin to going on an extreme diet from sticking whatever you want into your mouth. Or going from being inactive to hitting the gym hard 6days per week doing heavy squats, deadlifts etc.

In my experience all of these things need gradual change in order to be successful. There has to be a ramping up stage

maybe he can sit down and autopilot 100 hrs in 2 weeks....maybe
maybe he can go to the gym 6 days per week and ride the lifecycle on level 1 for an hour per day too

but going from zero to hero overnight - nope

Complaining and dodging poker. The two best things the fella is good at.

He says he plans to get there early to play tomorrow and put in a lot of hours.

I bet tomorrow he is running behind all day, doesn't get to the strip until 6pm and is done by 1am.
I actually commented and said I'm not surprised that he's behind on hours. He replied something along the line of "want to bet smart guy. I bet you no". I replied back and said I'll lay him 2 to 1 and he can bet any amount he can afford AND he can choose the escrow. He replied to my original comment in 3 minutes but silent after.

LOL, you should have a look at the Kraut's stats. All of his vlogs have less than 2k views, many around 1k. Except for the recent Miss Bikini one which has over 14k already. So much as to content

IMO Andrew is the gold standard by which all poker vlogs are to be judged, but Jake Cody is a close second. Hope he continues the vlog while in London. I'm guessing they have mid-high stakes NL there?

Very well said. I think the diet anology is spot on as well. Major lifestyle changes don't usually last the long haul unless you take it 1 small step at a time. Troop might be biting off more then he can chew.

You just cant !4 AK pre here with the intention to check-check-fold in position to this flop and runout. enough on that hand though, the vid was nice...gave me some minor ideas for tweaking things.

*also not sure if any of the other Vloggers read frequently but it seems like we all feel somewhat out of shape and trying to change that with gym ect...I would be down to do a little prop bet like a 3month pull ups/push ups/plank (im just firing off random benchmarks here, I'd be down for w/e like bench/squat/deadlift) with a recreational amount of $ involved more for motivation than anything else and could make for some fun content for us.

I agree with you on the logic based on how the hand played until the river but what Jake was saying is the likelihood of the villain having a hand better than one pair is small so he bet big on the river to have him fold. He didn't seem too focused on what range villain would put him on... What I don't agree with you is based on the preflop and postflop action Jake's value and bluff ranges should be narrower Not wider. What range is he playing his hand like that?

He won't often have AA, AQ or KJ here based on preflop, what sort of makes sense is QQ(unlikely)and 1010 here or complete bluffs which JJ is...

Whats crazy are the stats of uploads to sub ratio. Trooper had 100's of videos before he had 5k subs. Andrew did with 12 videos!

Trooper 509 Uploads 11,330 subs

Andrew 16 Uploads 5,281 Subs

I knew exactly where Andrew was gonna go eat!

BTW, it should be noted that none of these guys can do chip tricks as well as the Trooper. The Trooper is still king and don't any of you forget that!

Andrew's self awareness is refreshing. Most people in poker think that variance, the rake, or lack of bankroll is the only reason why they don't get to higher stakes and crush. They just haven't learned enough skills to crush these games yearly.

I don't see how dudes just think they can make 50k a year playing a card game without there being a huge learning curve day to day.

How dare Andrew get to the Strip before 3 pm.

How dare he put in a 14 hour session.

Me thinks he's trying to make the trooper look bad.

Hey Andrew, you shouldn't even be awake by 3 pm !

I want to see more hands from Andrew. Though a 20 min vlog was already long enough.

It wouldn't surprise me if he had no real intention of hitting 100 hours. The title makes for good clickbait, and might make some extra people watch. After he hits only 60 hours, he'll say it was still a success because he made the freeroll.

He could stand to learn about goal setting. But he likely thinks he's the best at goal setting, just like he's the best waiter he's ever seen in his life.

If Troop was losing there would be no way he would complete the challenge. He would cut his losses. But if he continues to win (and win promo money) then he'll try to finish it with maybe moderate effort.

Another great Andrew vlog. If he's already at 5k subs how long before he laps the OG?

Yes, He was one of the best waiters in the country right?, and he is one of the best dealers around, also very very good at picking up live tells, much better then most, what else was he one of the best at? Oh MTT turbos. He also works much much harder then most people.

For someone sooo good at everything he does, this Vegas life has to be a troll. He obviously has a few investments around the country making him money, and he decided to see what it was like grinding poker with no furniture.

Stop making this thread about your opinions on Trooper. No one cares, really.

There is more then enough good content in this topic to direct your attention to and contribute something useful.

Whey, just started your first video, wanted to quickly recommend syncing up the volume level between your talking/vocals and the cut music. Also, I juice a lot and would recommend cutting down on the amount of carrot and starch and upping the greenery. You could quadruple the amount of kale and add spinach. Lastly, turn image stabilization on!! GL with vids man!

i think both of these are really well done, i also think troopers is good from an editing prospective, just cant get over the lack of content/entertainment. i def hope to improve my own vids and find all the other ones good inspiration. unfortunately i cant jump in a 5-10+ game and crush but hopefully thats on the horizon and the journey there should be fun.

Here's an idea

Stick with Poker content until you master editing.

6 quality minutes > 30 sucky minutes

I just watched my first Andrew vlog and I think I'm hooked.

I haven't watched a Trooper vlog since the beginning of his Aruba trip. I saw him spending his time in Aruba looking for a Starbucks and I finally said WTF. I wish him nothing but the best though.
