Super simple, super easy, instead he is anchored to Vegas and has to do something daily for his vlog to make $30-50 a day. Does that sound like someone that is free and not working for anyone? Does he sound like he does what he wants and is his own boss?
Brilliant idea! Seems like a great way to keep the vlog streak going (for whatever reason he feels it's important even though it's not) while also testing out a way to streamline the process of making videos that can be implemented in the future to give him some flexibility in his schedule. I always figured having a flexible schedule is one of the main reasons to not be working for 'the man'.
Considering how logical and how well this solves the issues Trooper is currently having, he will definitely NOT be doing this. Unless he can somehow prove that he came up with this idea himself first and it was not suggested by anyone, he will never do this and will burn down the entire ship out of spite to make sure no one thinks that he answers to anyone or doesn't what other people tell him, including what his GF asks apparently.
Crazy old men gotta act crazy!
Also $30-$50 for 8-9K views a day is way too generous in the gambling category or whatever he's bunched into for his marketing label on YouTube. It's not like he's doing personal finance themed videos for some high CPM.
