I have a tough time believing even a very good player biggest downswing is 1 month. That to me would be just insane. There are guys like squid face who mentioned he had a pretty long downswing a while back and it certainly was more than 1 month and he mentioned he was one of the top 2/5 regs in vegas.


Theres also that guy Bryan Devonshire who wrote article about downswings. He seems to be a very good player etc.


I can certainly see how a player plays 1/2 and 1/3nl and not have a losing month. That certainly is possible. But Andrew doesn't play 1/2 or 1/3 unless he is just fooling around etc. So basically he plays 2/5 and 5/10. I mean are there really 2/5 and 5/10nl players that has been playing at least 5 years and worst downswing or breakeven stretch was 3 weeks? I cannot imagine that for any reg except a very few exception.

I've multi-quoted squid posts on this b4 and don't know where those went but below is a post he made in 2014. Doesn't look like a prolonged downswing at all to me. Pretty sure he crushed 2015 and 2016 he was busy recreating and playing lol Florida games.

BTW, I recall in another post he stated his biggest downswing was greater than that of other pros he knows and of course downswings are always accompanied by some poor play.

Saw Neeme and Owen at Red Rock today. Might have a vlog crossover as there was only one 2/5 going.

If you are beating the game at a good clip (and playing full time) you really shouldnt have losing months that often.

I generally have about 1 month per year where anything that can possibly go wrong does.

Pretty sure Duke is on a 15 month winning streak (not sure what his longest b/e is since he started stomping the games)

Just had my first losing month in 5 years, played 76 hours (usually play 100-130), lost $1100. Get it in 80/20 for $2k pot and lose, get it in 90/10 for $2k pot and lose, get it in 50/50 for $2800 pot and lose, etc. Flop set, board runs 4 flush. Flop set, board runs 4 straight. Flop flush, board double pairs, you name it. Have second nut boat vs nut boat for $2k pot. Two pots go the other way = +$4k instead. Won first 3 sessions in February for $4k. Still rage-inducing.

I wonder what Molly G thinks about Trooper97's potential as a stepfather. I know a lot of poker and degen guys I've known through the years do the step-dad thing really well. Maybe she knows this. Judging by her facebook history, she actually seems the type of broad who plays the long game and quickly spotted Tim's paternal instincts.

Yeah that was really bad. Best case scenario he's going to be up against AA and a flush draw. Don't think he'd be the favorite even in that spot. Just pure spew.

She can't tell how good he is at poker. She probably listens to him talk about hands (in the videos) and thinks she is listening to an expert. She would be clueless about winrates at 1-2 NL so she may see nothing wrong with a 1-2 NL pro.

Does she know he is just getting by? Maybe she thinks he is doing well because he lives in a nice place and gets extra money from Youtube. And I doubt Trooper is going to try and make himself look bad when he is around her. If he still lived at Desert Manor her opinion of him might be different.

No guy is going to say things to her like "Yeah I only win around $5-$12 an hour at 1-2 NL." Instead they're going to say nonsense like "I crush the game for $40 an hour; too bad those idiots keep sucking out on me but yeah I'm a $40 an hour winner in the long run at 1-2 NL."

Maybe she is an independent and financially secure woman who is dating Tim because she genuinely enjoys his company and not because she is looking for a meal ticket. Not all women are gold diggers who expect to be financially taken care of.
