The problem with Trooper's hit and run strategy to book a bunch of wins in a row to make himself look like a great poker genius to his viewers is that after 3 weeks of winning $50-$150 a day, he wipes out his entire profits in 2-3 nights of his usual spazzing.
I met a poker player who was lying to himself the same way. He would do hit and run and would book 90% winning sessions. I asked to check out his records (he actually kept records which was a big plus) but 90% of his winning sessions were under $150 and 80% were under $100. He had a bunch of +$43, +$55, and even +$28 sessions and then occasionally I would see a loss of -$325 or -$623. I grilled him a bit and he pretty much would win a hand or two and then set a 30 minute clock on himself (unless he was there for an hour already) during which he tightened up like crazy. Then he would cash out and go across the street to the next casino. He sometime got 3-4 winning sessions in a night but if he was down after losing a hand, he would bunker down and grind out of the negative no matter how long it took.
So if he had 2 winning sessions in less than 3 hours, he would hit the next casino and then get into the red and spend the rest of the night fighting to get back to even to avoid booking a loss. He did make somewhere between $10K and $20K that year he showed me his records but he was definitely approaching poker the wrong way.
He didn't keep track of how long each session was on the same spreadsheet, which wasn't a surprise.
