I wouldn't call a guy who would willingly choose to walk 30-40 minutes to grab a water from his car in another parking lot, lazy. Just not very bright.

I'm all for saving tip money in casinos, but Trooper must think his walk time is higher EV than sitting in on a live 1/2 NL game. And let's be real, Trooper probably walks more than 99% of the people, let alone this thread.

Also WSOP 2021 is happening later this year, I wonder if Trooper is gonna have another instant sold out $10K Main Event package with like ~20% mark up.

Kinda shady, but after he sells out that $10K with the MU, he can then sell 50% or whatever % of that MU to another person. He would still freeroll into the tournament, have some equity, and still make more money than he normally ever would in a week/months.

He probably walks away from the table because he gets bored and doesn’t want to sit there several hours in a row. Low stakes poker can get pretty boring sometimes. And walking can be good for people not just physically but mentally as well. It has to be more relaxing for him than taking a bad beat at the poker table.

True that walking is really good exercise.

I think it's just easier to finish up the session, then you can leave and do whatever you want. It feels like trooper takes these 30-40 minute breaks, and doesn't follow it up with another 3-4+ hour session. There's a good chance he comes back to a nearly broken game in these lineups. Hard to tell, since he only gives like 1 hand history per video.

Also live low stakes, while generally boring in itself, should be auto-pilot mode. Cellphone/tablet, mobile game, music, discord, reddit, google/youtube, 2+2, anything you do daily at home, on the toilet, you can do there at the table. What's the problem here?

^ While this is borderline really tilting to see, esp from a pro, because its just a not-fun-environment, if it helps you put in hours, then do it.

If he enters the main, I'll bet the side where he doesn't make the money.

I was literally told I didn't win the bid on a house in a suburb west of STL because the sellers Googled me and wanted to keep the neighborhood "pure".

The sellers real estate agent was soon after fired. Lawyers were contacted and all sorts of calamity ensued. Me not willing to pay $300/hr for a lawyer for a case that I probably wouldn't win(lack of non hearsay evidence) for a house in a neighborhood I no longer wanted to live in is the only thing that kept the case from proceeding.

Not wanting my daughter to grow up in such a climate(if at all avoidable) was the main impetus for the move honestly.

Jaman sadly the segregation you mention, this sounds like almost every rust belt city I know, grew up in what was left of the Polish ethnic ghetto enclave in one of them.

Also just wanted to say I really enjoyed your last video. Really well done, I just hope you don’t make us wait a year for the next one.

Yes, Lazy =/ lack time spent or lack physical activity.

Doing things that don't make money instead of things that do because they are harder is also lazy.

You can say alot about Trooper, but i dont think lazy is one of them. Like Dream Crusher mentioned, just making a vlog almost daily like he does is a huge amount of work.

The guy has carved out a nice little lifestyle for himself over the last few years that he seems to enjoy more than "working for the man" or a typical 9-5 job, wich he indeed deserve credit for.

That being said i do enjoy his blowup vlogs when he gets in deep in a "very good game" and keeps ranting on to the camera on why he lost like $1000 in that amazing 1/2 game. He delivers good entertaintment from time to time, even though his daily vlogs can get repetetive and boring if you watch them too often.

I've stopped watching trooper because it's just the same thing over and over each time. So boring. At least with poker hand recaps, it's always different. At best you can maybe see him eat somewhere new. Maybe.

I don't understand the thing he does where his poker playing is just showing one inconsequential set of hole cards after another.

If trooper is a hard worker in general, and im not saying thats true, hes definitely lazy at poker, i think we can all agree on that.

Neeme isnt where he is by accident, he outworked the trooper, and now he gets the benefits. He gets the big meet up games, he gets the huge youtube subs, he gets all the accoutrements that come with it. On top of that, hes infinitely a better player, and someone who actively works on getting better at poker, as seen by his PLO stuff with Dylan Weisman, shoutout Dylan.

The trooper meanwhile, doesnt have those things and still has to have poker be a loss leader sort of speak. He has to put out a constant stream of content, which involves him playing 1-2 and losing some $ per hour, but it fuels all his other businesses.

Is some guy who digs ditches 10 hours a day for 10$ an hour a harder worker than a white collar finance guy who makes 250k a year? The finance guy didnt get there being lazy, id say the guy digging ditches probably did at some point. Digging ditches is obv much harder work than analyzing spreadsheets at least physically

Nice flex
Making $50k per year at low stakes putting in full time hours would
already put a player in the top 1-5% of those stakes.

It's the old work hard vs. work smart distinction. Overall I'd say Trooper is kind of a hard worker, but he's clearly not a very smart worker.

Some parts of finance do have people working very hard, at least in terms of hours. I think it's probably counterproductive, but that's the culture. Most other 205K+ gigs are take Friday afternoons off kind of things. Not all of them of course...

How would you even categorize Trooper’s vlog at this point?

There is hardly any poker.

There is hardly any food either.

So it’s pretty much just him talking into a camera.

If nobody knows him prior to today, how many people you think would watch it?

Apparently the standard in this chat is doing any work at all everyday is "hard working"?

Trooper churns out formulaic, boring videos of his face ranting everyday as he walks around looking for starbucks or pizza.

That is not hard working. Less work than you would do in an average 9 to 5, let alone "hard working".

Plus the work content is lazy, with no thought or development or progress.

Not to mention he does not appear to work hard on any areas outside of poker like any hobbies or have kids or do much of anything of note.

He literally walks around the strip and plays $1-$3 poker and can't even do a hand recap at that.

+1

I like him and I don't really care if he plays good, bad or optimally; its fun to see him swing all over the place from week to week

Hell of a work ethic imo to crank out that much content too.

When I tried to play poker back in the day, I couldn't concentrate well enough to try and play, record results, how I played the hand, etc...took all the fun out of it for me

I cant believe he paid $20K+ for a Tom Brady rookie card and it appeared it was just sent in the mail, I sure hope there was some type of insurance. I'm too jaded and dont think I could trust buying something like that over the internet but maybe there's a process that ensures safety and legitimacy, he should do a follow up with a video about that

Well to be fair to the hate, we were discussing watching him over 6 episodes of Solve for Why Poker out Loud where he was talking through decisions on another show, not his vlog. So he was not recording results, making a vlog, but was on a show designed to have him talk through decisions.

He made predetermined decisions like he was going to 3 bet, then talked himself into 4 bet based on just throwing around buzzwords. Was painful listening to his "logic." Almost all his decisions were based on rampaging agression. Which is why I imagine he does well against recs and normal games cause he has no fear. But sitting next to Landon Tice was brutal

He explains and my takeaway is that apparently it means he is going to make better vlogs and talk with loud wind and inspirational music while he jogs around a lake in Massachusetts. Going for a rebrand after the "incident."
