I completely agree, but my main complaint is with the floors/poker rooms that allow such a long break, not so much with the players who take advantage of the policy. My philosophy is if you've come to the room to play poker, then stay at the table and play poker. If you want to take an hour to go eat dinner, then cash out your chips and let someone else have the seat. I think rooms should limit breaks to 15-20 minutes, and if players want to take longer to go have dinner, they should receive some sort of token that would allow them to be placed at the top of any waiting list upon their return.

Actually, this creates the most unfair situation of all. Say you have two guys leave the table for an hour to go have dinner together. They're fine, but then whoever else needs to get up to go to the bathroom has to time their trip so that they won't miss a blind. Because if they do, then their chips get picked up and they lose their seat. And not only do they have to time their bathroom break, they also have to give up some hands in profitable positions just after they've played the button.
There's actually nothing worse than a room that allows players to take a one-hour break and combines it with enforcement of the third-man-walking rule.
