You don't get insurance as a part timer.

I pay $240/mo for my health insurance. If you're degen enough to risk a full year of not having any health related issues and you can fudge your income into that lower income bracket, $695/year for the penalty is a discount.

Trooper should get himself a Tesla like the one that Boski was test driving in his latest vlog. Smooth of Boski to play Yayo in the car. I could definitely see Trooper playing Yayo while ballin' hard in his Tesla.

Oh god, him explaining how not everyone could extract full value with a set vs AA the way he did, then saying she had to call it off on the river anyway was pretty cringeworthy.

Yeah, he won by "playing ruthlessly", aka turning a set against pocket AA.

Only a pro can extract max value

Let's be clear on one thing. Trooper stacks off with Aces 100% of the time in that spot and virtually any other spot.

Trooper's results oriented thinking: "Obviously I played it the best I could because I got the maximum value"

Nice win Trooper! Time to move up to 2/5.

Well he has been playing a lot of 1-3 and 1-2 (at Bally's which is softer than even a lot of the other 1-2 games IMO) and a lot of the players he has played against wouldn't get maximum value in a hand like that, even if the way to get maximum value is to play it in a standard way. This is one of the reasons why he is still ahead at 1-2. He is better than a lot of the competition because they are so bad. It's also why I would not be thrilled to see him play a lot more 2-5.

I actually agree with his main point, but there definitely are much better hands that one can use to explain that point with.

I'm curious to see how long this heater lasts.

Has anyone that played with him ever thought he was ruthless at the table? I think he is friendlier away from the table and he seems to think having a "ruthless" personality makes him a tougher player. It would be interesting to hear him elaborate more on how to be ruthless at the table.

I'm sure he was also referring to style of play. It's super rare to see anyone that's ruthless in a 1-2 NL game.

V (covers) in CO - woman who raises a lot pf
H (700) in SB - plays ruthless

V raises to $15 from cutoff (limpers?), H 3-bets QQ to $50, V calls.

Flop ($100ish) J64cc - H donks $75, V raises to $155, H calls

Turn ($410ish) Qx - H checks, V bets $110, H raises to $310, V calls

River ($1030ish) X - Hero donks $185, V calls

Final pot ($1400)

It is an interesting question as to whether or not the flop check/raise is superior to donking a second street here. IMO a check/raise looks to be a stronger holding than a second donk, but perhaps the money doesn't get in if Trooper bets say $250 on the turn.

I'd be interested in seeing how Trooper would have described the hand if roles were reversed.

Has Trooper said he is running really well? We heard him mention his bad luck a lot when he was losing. It's always good to be aware of the times you run well above your expectation too. Or maybe he thinks he isn't running that well and that this is normal.

I can count the number of players I've met in real life who mention when they're running good on one finger. I'd need a shipping barge for the opposite.

Trooper is normal in this regard.

Good for you Trooper, enjoy the GF - you do seem happy these last few weeks. Having nicer things in your apartment has to make one feel better in life in general.
