His videos really are head and shoulders above most of the other vloggers both in style/quality of the presentation and the content.
I used to really like Trooper's video quality but either he has been slipping lately (several months) or I just didn't have a frame of reference before. I would never compare Trooper to professional vlogs because it wouldn't be fair but Andrew's videos are definitely on par with some of the 1 million+ sub vloggers.
The fact that his videos come out just twice a week or so definitely leaves me wanting more and I think that is a good thing. Over saturation of low level content is definitely a negative to a vlog. Wouldn't someone want less videos to get X views total as opposed to more videos to reach the same total? I think that speaks to the quality vs quantity debate and brand image. It's like McDonald's vs Prime Burger or some other quality burger place.
I agree Andrew's vlog has become the gold standard for poker vlogs. His content is head and shoulders above everyone else. Trooper still does a really good job with the production aspect of his vlog, but in my opinion (and it sounds like this is what you were getting at) the story he's trying to tell has just gone stale. It's literally the same thing every day. He still has a good personality to be on camera, he does a great job of editing the videos and shooting B-roll, but the meat and potatoes of the vlogs have become repetitive nonsense. Wake up, dick around, coffee, poker, go home. I don't have any problem with him wanting to live his life that way, that's his prerogative, but that doesn't make for interesting vlog content. It's not even that he doesn't discuss hands he plays or films his hole cards, or analyzes what goes on at the table. It really boils down to he's been putting out largely the same vlog every day for months and it's getting tired.
Personally, I've watched him for years now and have enjoyed following his story, but it's getting harder and harder to watch because it's become flat out boring. I hope he takes the time to diversify what's being included in the vlogs, takes a few cues from other vloggers on how/what to present as far as poker content, and makes his vlog that much more appealing. His production value remains among the best, but the content is slipping waaayyyy behind.
